Since I purchased my 2007 XB12X Ulysses, the cooling fan has failed 3 or 4 times. No explanation, just failed and I had to take it to the dealer each time for repairs under warranty. Now the last time it failed, I took it right in and they told me that the engine failed too as a result of over heating. While it has been at the dealership, they called me and told me the fuel pump needs replacing too. Aside from all of that, while riding this bike it blows extremely hot air onto my right inner thigh burning my skin through whatever I am wearing. I called Buell in Wisconsin and the dealer for a heat shield fix or to see if the factory was offering assistance on the burning leg issue, but they denied there was any problem. I no longer want the bike and I have it up for sale and have told the dealer it is a poor design with too many issues. Has anybody else suffered similar issues with the 2007 XB12X Ulysses??? Thank you |

Problems like these are most likely the result of higher than normal resistance, and it takes a very good tech to find the problem. Sometimes you have to go through the harness inch by inch, or just get lucky. As a former auto tech I used to run into this all the time, sometimes if would find it and sometimes not. Your best bet is to get a service manual and voltmeter and learn to use them. Wish i could help more, but i am still waiting on my manual to come in. |
