Anyone know where I can get the bottom half of the ignition switch? http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h264/avalaugh/6c eea258.jpg |

Some 1125r owners report that the harness wiring going to the ignition switch is hanging up on the fairing. The ignition switch is repairable. If you google Badweb at the top of this page, type in Zac4mac and you will find his ignition switch/harness/fairing fix. |

Apparently the wires tend to break the solder joint. It's just to a pad, so no real strength. My top issue is keep the "solder time" to a minimum. get in and get out quick. Harley doesn't sell the top and bottom separately, gotta buy the whole enchilada... $100+ So fix it for free. Z |

BTW, if anybody DOES decide to replace their switch, don't do like my dumb dealer (under warranty) and just order the ignition switch by itself. A complete set, including matching gas cap and tail lock is only a few bucks more. But because my (former) dealer went the el cheapo route, I now have to carry around two keys. Major PITA. |

Will this work on an 1125r? How do I go about installing it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item =121107954642&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:wa tchlink:top:en |

I show the same part number for the switch in an 03 XB9R and 08 1125R. So yes it should work. To change it, you have to remove the two safety torx that mount the switch on the underside of the triple tree then remove the switch, swap and reinstall. |
