So recently my bike has been having trouble starting. On the first try, it tries to start and fires up for about half a second and dies. Then it usually starts up on the second time. Any suggestions? |

Charge the battery or replace it. These bikes are very sensitive to low voltages. Think about it, when bikes were carb'ed and kick start, there were less problems. Voltage to points, then coil, then spark...runs! |

What kind of battery? If Li, it's not unusual to have to pull current out of the battery to warm it up before it will provide full voltage especially if it's cold out. |

are you using a trickle charger? how long has the fuel been in the tank? |

I've had it on a trickle charger and it still does the same thing. The battery did die on me last season and I kinda had to jump it to get the bike started (from car battery when it was off). I'm on my 4th tank of gas now so that shouldnt be a problem. Do our bikes commonly have issues with the starter? |

No issues with the starter. But the 2009/2010 model year 1125r/cr has issues with the stator. If be considering one of these to monitor it this season...http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/16076.html If you look at American Sport Bike, they also sell the 1125r battery FYI. Also in the BadWeb 1125 section is a thread on stator issues for your perusal. |
