Well this is interesting. I’m curious to see what they come up with. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cn5MyqVs3XE/?igshid =YmMyMTA2M2Y= (I think anyone can watch this; it’s also on Facebook but I couldn’t find it on YouTube.) |

Unbelievable....they took the worst features of the HD and combined them with the worst of Buell. Amazing |

How to ruin a Buell! |

I like it! I see a frame that was designed by Erik for Hardley-Ableson (the FXR) with many of the EBR innovations (Helicon engine, good suspension and light wheels with perimeter front brake). I think with a comfortable seat and a set of Hepco & Becker Junior bags, it would make one hell of a Sport-Tourer. |

I agree with Crusty. Looks like a cool cruiser. Like it for the same reasons I like Harley's Softail S. |

No cruiser should bear the Buell name. It’s that simple for me. |

Way better would have been to make it more like an X1/S1/S3 reincarnation. THAT would have been AWESOME. |

I like the bike. Maybe Buell built a bike they thought would ride nice, have power AND appeal to the cruiser riders in order to sell and be successful. I commend them for taking a shot. Hope it works out for them. |

"No cruiser should bear the Buell name. It’s that simple for me." I can appreciate the sentiment, but the guy started his career designing cruisers at HD, so it's not really that out of line. "Way better would have been to make it more like an X1/S1/S3 reincarnation." I would LOVE that. I had always wished they had made a more modern version of the S1. Steel frame, similar styled bodywork, and just a modern monster of an engine. Like a superduke with a little more Buell styling. |

That would have been rad to build an X1/S1/S3 reincarnation. I do like the bike and am curious about the what the production version will be, but the reality is that I would never buy one. If I wanted a bike like this the Rocket 3 has my vote. Wowza! |

That engine, without major changes, has no low speed torque. It would be a nightmare to drive within the intended usage as a cruiser. |

Have you ridden an 1190? The biggest problem I had was keeping the speed down. It's not a 1500 RPM in 6th gear kind of bike and I don't believe anybody who buys one will be treating it like it is one. That's like badmouthing a Ducati Diavel for the same reasons. |

Crusty, Neither the Ducati nor this example are cruisers. This current effort is to sell the excess parts, bits and pieces that came with the EBR acquisition. There has been no investment or effort to correct any of the faults or the tune of the original engine. |

Don’t get me wrong, I like it…. But Wondering just how many of the Harley faithful would actually buy? We know they are pretty loyal to Wisconsin, the Harley badge, and THAT sound. This sure has power, but definitely doesn’t have the Harley sound… Is water cooled, it Has a radiator, and is Austrian….we saw how the Vrod sold with Porsche engineering And I bet the estimated list price would be over $25k And it isn’t made in Milwaukee Sure hope they figure out the gearing, gear it low as a drag bike, it would be scary at 175mph plus being that naked and that tall of a bike…I’d try though! |

The "Harley faithful" won't buy it, no matter what, but the demographic of those that bleed black and orange gets older and scarcer every year. I suspect that while large cruiser motorcycles are down in sales overall, the new generation of buyers are more open to bikes from other makers. This bike is sized about the same as most mid-weight cruisers. The price point might be too high for the gateway bike, but its right on for an aspirational ride by a youthful performance oriented buyer. I hope it does well. The biggest, (and somewhat accurate), ding on the RX/SX, (even on Badweb), is that it's a 2014 model being sold in 2023. This cruiser is definitely something new. If Buell 2.0 is going to succeed, they need to build bikes that sell, regardless of our opinions on whether they are true to the legacy. |

I tried to post the news from Buell about their Daytona Display, but the site won't let me. Oh, well... |

I know they're plenty practical but I'm still not sold on the blocky hard bags on there. I do like the way the rear sub-frame and seat looks, and the improved front fairing looks much better than the prototype did, but I agree with the Harley-ish criticism. I would love to see a more contoured headlight housing echoing the 1125R. (Message edited by mnscrounger on March 03, 2023) |

If both models are in Daytona, I'll write a report. Maybe I'll even be able to post it here. (But I wouldn't put money on that happening) |

The more I look at this thing the more I like it. I do like the 450 pounds and 180 horse power. My life span on this bike might be measured in minutes but damn, it'd be a heck of a ride |

That Buell Super Cruiser looks like a possibility for easily riding onto a toy hauler. My ULY is a bit too high for good foot contact. (Message edited by johndd on April 28, 2023) |
