Hey everybody I'm new here to the boards. I've got a 2009 Buell 1125r that I just bought and a 1999 Sportster bobber. The 1125r only has 1000 miles on it so I'm counting down to the new stator but hopefully it lasts lol. Anyways nice to meet everybody I live in the Indianapolis area so if anyone else does let's go for a ride sometime!

Hello all! My name is Mark Christman, I reside in the beautiful Schoharie Valley in the village of Central Bridge off I-88. I purchased a 2005 Buell Blast with 694 miles on it last July for $2100 cash!! Steal!? I agree!! On my daily commute to Albany I have racked up just shy of 12,000 miles as of this week. BUT I have developed a problem with the bike running and will post in a different thread. I enjoy reading everyone's input on their experience with this machine and has turned me to "the dark side."

Love the site! Just bought an 01 Cyclone. Bike ran poorly when purchased (tuned by an HD tech). Reeked of gas, very little power, spit from air filter, all in all, not good. Tech raved about how good it ran. Brought home, pulled the carb, changed jets, raised the needle, relocated crankcase pressure relief. Now, it has great power throughout, sounds healthier, and just plain runs better. The site has been very helpful in helping me make the adjustments thanks to posts.

Aloha Buelligans!

My name is Charlie, and I'm a Buellaholic.

My first bike was a 2005 XB9SX that I bought about 2 years ago now. She lovingly answers to Lorraine, even from beyond the grave. back in April, on the 21st to be exact, I came around a blind corner with my peg feelers about 1/2 an inch from the ground (where she was happiest) only to find one of those new super-sized Mini Coopers literally in the middle of the freaking road. This was the day Lorraine saved my life.

Without any thought required on my part she went from roughly 30 degrees of bank to what felt like about 60 degrees of bank, which I know should be physically impossible on the CityX (thank you also Michelin for making Power Pures), but she did it, and freaking stuck it. This kept me from having a head on collision with the dude, but unfortunately I still couldn't miss him entirely. My rear tire hit his rear tire and then the resulting impact went straight through my rear wheel, to ripping the swing arm off it's mounts, to the seat rails, through my sack (giving me the scariest bruise I have ever had that lasted about 2 months), and up my spine, breaking my back. Neither of us had a good day that day. I am definitely forever thankful to Lorraine, and the incredible group of people that built her. this is the road, even the same direction I was going. Turn number Four.

When I couldn't find another XB for sale on the Island of Oahu (go figure, right?) I decided to get an '08 1125R with only 3000 miles on it. Score. Wonderful machine but compared to Lorraine, emotionless.

I'm sure that will change when I put a set of proper tires on her, the Q2s on her right now are garbage. Two weeks after getting her, on the 1st of June, the damn things cost me not only the use of my leg and arm (broken Tib, Fib, and Scaphoid. 9 screws and 2 plates altogether.), but also a 6 month deployment to Italy at $63 tax free dollars a day per diem *sigh*, and now possibly my military carreer. All from just trying to turn right off a stop sign into traffic. Damn things slipped BAD on a crosswalk and then it was just a big chain reaction that ended in a high side at a nearly standing still speed, with my leg under the bike.

I went back to look at the bike a few days ago where it is sitting for safe keeping in a friend's garage underneath a cover, very nice! Turns out all that happened was the left mirror broke off and it got some gashes on every single piece of plastic on the bike, also left rider foot peg bracket and left handle bar are bent, so that is pretty lucky. The biggest thing that I noted while inspecting the bike was that those horrible excuses for brand new tire under the thing had started rotting, first I have ever seen that. It has only been sitting for a month, where as my XB has been sitting for four in the back of my truck and those power pures still look great (what chicken strips!?!?!).

As much as it pains me to do it, I will be taking Lorraine apart so that she may live on in other Buells, and continue to get the love she deserves. Everything on her is in good condition save for the parts I described back up at the beginning of my novel (the swing arm itself seems to be in good condition still, it's just the mounts that gave out). Only parts I can think of that I would not be willing to sell is the belt, she was pretty close to 12k miles when the wreck happened. Also the rear tire because I don't know if any of the insidey parts were damaged, and I don't want anyone to find out the hard way. I will not be selling the front tire either, as it is going on my 1125R once I can walk/ride again.

I would be VERY happy to trade XB parts for all 1125R plastics (preferably black but my main thing is just that the bike is one color, so if you have a full set that isn't black don't hesitate to hit me up.), left rider foot peg bracket, and left mirror. let me know if you want to deal.

Again, sorry for the novel, but I have kinda been cooped up since april and have gotten very talkative whenever I have the chance, as I am pretty much just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting until I can be a full human again.

I really hope we can help each other out in the near future! Have a great day, and DON'T EVER EVEN THINK about getting on a motorcycle without the proper gear. Dress for the crash not the ride, ya? Also, always remember to ride it like you stole it! Unless of course it is unsafe to do so, if that's the case, please don't. Buellers gotta stay alive, or there will be none to love them.

Your brother in arms,
-Charlie

(P.S.- Due to my uncommon circumstances of being pretty much useless for anything but eating and crapping right now, I would not say no to any donations of 1125R parts, assistance of any kind, or funds. This is not something I like doing, but I am in a pretty damn hard spot right now and will take any help I can get.)

Hi Everyone

Just bought my first Buell 08/22/12 it's a 2006 XB12ss Long. Needs a few minor cosmetic things but I got it for $1500.00. It's sole purpose will be drag racing in the AHDRA series. Maybe an blast around town every once in a while. The ride home was a total blast. What a fun ride. Gave me second thoughts about making it a dragbike. The list of bikes I own is as follows.

1983 Kawasaki GPZ-1100 - Currently for sale
1992 Suzuki GSXR-1100 - Currently for sale
2003 Honda Shadow 750 - Girlfriends bike
2003 Harley Ultra Classic Touring Bike
2005 Harley Softail Standard - My Custom
2006 Buell XB12ss Long - Just Purchased

Now to start looking for parts. I've been unable to find an extended swingarm or a set of wheelie bars for the Buell. Seems easy enough if it was a pre 06. I know they changed the swingarm in 06. Maybe should have done my homework a little before the purchase but I couldnt past the purchase price. The bike has a Jardine slip-on and was never re-mapped after the install. It runs good but the bottom end is lacking power and it seems to be running very lean.

Glad to be here and hopefully will get a lot of information from the forum

Thanks....Chris

Dang, that was a screaming good deal!

Definitely put it back on the street, at least for a while. You need an overgrown super-motard in your collection (which is really what this bike is).

Hey everyone I'm new to the site. my ride is an '09 1125cr. I was lookin' thru the forums and I see we don't have our own, unless I missed it somehow. I bought my bike new and have had it ever since. Currently, I have a Jardine exhaust and all other mods are cosmetic; mostly carbon fiber pieces and a Buell seat. I recently got sponsored through http://bikesponsors.com so I'll have a lot of upgrades coming in soon. Also I'm gettin support from http://decalkits.comso my Buell won't look so plain anymore. It's gettin harder to find stuff to do to it these days. I don't think I'll ever get rid of her, I just wanna keep her lookin better and better. I'm sure there's tons of links in the link folder on here so I'm definitely gonna go thru it and see what I can find. I also plan on going thru the archives, but don't worry guys... I won't copy your style. I just need some ideas to start from then make my own and implement them. See ya 'round. Wish me luck.

Nice ride, Ray. You really got me with your sweet 1125cr. I'm on a low budget so I only can afford an old XB, but if you are ever on tour again in Cincinnati, you can come dancing on some twisties with me.

Hi all,

New to the forums, but I signed up in anticipation of my first Buell purchase. I am looking at one of the older tube frame Buells and have an offer in on a 2000 S3T. If that falls though I will have to find another one.

I currently own a 95 Sportster 1200 with an S&S 89" stoker kit, pushing 96hp and 101 tq (to the rear wheel).

Looking forward to similar power in a bike with a nice lean angle. I need to park the sporty for some electrical issues and cosmetic fixes and just can't bear to drive the cage for a couple of months so I need a new bike.

Looking forward to learning a lot here.

Hello fellow Buellers... I met a kool kat at Chandler Harley the other day and he mentioned this forum (thanks by the way). Looks like I'm in the right place! I'm not new to motorcycles, but I am new to Buell and I have to be honest... I don't like it.. I LOVE IT. So now the mods begin and I'm following EBR to see what kind of awesomeness is produced next. In the meantime, I am riding a 2004 XB12s. And, for those of you that don't know, HD's garage remote componant (usually wired to your high beam) won't work, but I have the solution and it cost me less than $30. Hit me up and I'll help you out. PS - I worked at a motorcycle school for many years and owned my own shop, no duct tape and cheese here! Thanks for having me, look forward to engaging with everyone!

Hello!
My name is Nick and I'm originally from New Orleans La.
I now live in the Ozark foothills of Arkansas where we have some really nice twisty roadways that are definitely Buell playground. My infatuation began in 1998 when I test drove a new S3t from a dealership in Albuquerque N.M. while attending the annual International balloon festival.
I absolutely fell in love with the bike very quickly, but
because of other obligations at the time, had to do my best to just forget about it. Well as fate would have it, I purchased the very same model just last year. It needed some TLC, so I had a friend who is a local Harley mechanic go over it from top to bottom completely restoring it back as good as new. I also had it custom painted a
Candied Orange.
Well to say the least, I am thrilled to have it!
Bottom line... I always loved Buell motorcycles, and if I had the space, I would own a few... Glad to be here and look forward to making some new friends.

Yet another Greg... Hi all.
As of last week, I'm a new owner of an 02 M2. I'm still trying to get it set up for myself and streetable. It has a straight pipe on it and is a bit too loud to ride in the city. I work on my own stuff for the most part and have almost all of the "cool tools" but still don't have much experience with the Harley engine - although I had a sporty bobber that I made into a hard tail chopper... I have had my share of cruisers and sport bikes (ZX12R) over the years and really liked the look, feel and sound of this bike. Now to make it my own.

Hola All,

Living in Jacksonville for now (Navy) and remember after buying my Harley, test riding a Uly in 2006. I was in heaven, but couldn't justify 2 bikes. So now I going to pasture the Harley and will be looking for an 09 XT. Ill keep reading the classifieds and looking through all the pluses and minuses. When I find my Uly, you'll be the 1st to know.

Been a long time for me on the Badweb. Not that i ever really contributed much before under my old log in, sgtbuell. I sold my 02' M2 back in 2005. Before I sold it I had a 2004 Hayabusa LE that just got stolen so I was pissed off at the motorcycle world and did not want to ride any more. Thats the reason I let the M2 go, wish I had not. Not even two years later I got a 07' Dyna Wide Glide through ENCS military auto sales. Life has not been kind to me and my bikes. I had to sell the Wide Glide in 2010 to pay the bills. So now it's 2012 and due to my family not being able to come to the states due to visa's I had to sell my Jeep Rubicon, yeah I know not a bike. Life sometimes is a pain in the ass. Any way after I sold the Jeep started looking at the most economical way to travel and get a decent vehicle. There is no economical vehicle thats decent just for a couple of grand, well unless you start looking at bikes. Instantly started looking for Buells but could not find any thing I wanted in the Hampton Roads, VA area for under $4000. Not a fan of the X1 which there were a couple of and did not want another M2 just because I'd had one. Please don't be mad at me buelligans but I got a bike on my bucket list instead. New owner of a '01 RC51. Anyway first thing I'm going to do is find the local Buell riders group because they are the best people to ride with in my opinion.

Howdy from the Piney Woods of East Texas. I've owned a 2000 M2 since the summer before last. Didn't get to ride it much in the last year due to a health issue(now resolved thanks to my surgeon) but plan on having it around for a while, so registering as a member here was a no brainer. The pic is similar to my bike but I don't own a decent camera. Anyways, as you should expect, I need advice, help, etc. I got a manual with the bike and that answers some, but not all, questions I have. The lurking I have done has shown me that this forum is a great place for Buell owners.
