I drive a 1982 Honda Ascot FT500.... mostly because I'm 18 and can't afford a Buell right now.
Hopefully in a few years i can get my dream bike,
An 1125cr
My older brother drives a xb12s and hopefully I can borrow it while he is gone.

Hello everyone!
I am a new owner of a 2009 Buell XB12Ss (Cherry Bomb) since Sunday April 1, 2012 as my second motorcycle.
I don't like it...I LOVE IT !!!
I am also owner of a 2008 Kawasaki Z1000 (Lime Green).
I live in Rosemere quiet little town on the north shore of Montreal more precisely in the lower Laurentians of the Province of Quebec, Canada.
Hoping to have interesting discussions here on the site...
Cordially.

Looking for a lower 2006 Ulysses seat. All black or barricade orange. I like riding with the tall seat but having to stop is a process. I'm only 5'8" so my feet come no where near the ground. Always have to make sure to be on level ground and ready to get a foot down. I've been riding all kinds of bikes for over 30 years. The Ulysses is my second Buell. Still have the first, 2002 Cyclone. Also looking for a 2006 Ulysses Owners manual. Hoping for some assistance from the group. Thanks.

Have owned only Harleys for almost 30 years, but have ridden about all types of 2-wheel vehicles. Now my son has caught the 2-wheel bug, and we found a 2001 Buell Blast as his first bike. Needs some work, and I'll need some advice from the experts! Hope I can find them on this board. Glad to join the Buell family, and glad I was able to steer him away from the Ninjas!

Been looking for a place to belong. Very very done with the in line-4 sport bikes if I can help it. I really would love to pick up an x1 after months of my research. This IS the bike for me... I won't rest until I find one!

My name is Max or D351r3D I have lurked in these forums for a while to see if I should get a Buell, and I did. I got a 2001 Buell Blast three days ago and rode it 160 miles from Manteca, CA to Grass Valley, CA with only MSF under my belt. I just had a few questions so I'll post them in the QA Buell Blast area. I'm a real noob to this whole motorcycle thing, but I look foreword to being a member of this forum for quite some time.

Figured I ought to post here now that I am riding a buell although I have been a member a while.
I used to ride a sportster, loved the motor and style but definitely lacked something. It was an 883r built up to 1200. Eventually the motor blew, taking the bottom end with it (luckily not me). long sorry short I picked up a thrashed 98 s1 to take some motor parts off and ended up doing a 1250 build. Lots of fun. Got the itch for something else, wanted a buell but couldn't afford the right one.
After a fling with a dual sport I am back on an american vtwin, 1999 s3t. Brake rotor is shot, I already broke a muffler mount and the tripometer doesn't remember my last ride, but I do and I feel I found the right bike for me.

Welcome Lisa and kid! Lots of tuber wisdom here, lots of people who have been there and done that and kind of miss it.

S1W Lisa? Nice. Both of you can start with your primary chain tensioner, make sure it's the upgraded new part with the thicker backplate. And drop your oil pump once you get to about 10k miles and look up into the crankcase at the pinion gear and see how badly it's wearing. Those are the biggest payback items to do proactively.

Kid, is the brake rotor pulsing? Or just kind of grindy? If it's been sitting, the old style cast rotors get surface rust. Just ride it and clean it off, they are otherwise great rotors.

Hi All, My name is Al and I have a Buell. The problem began when i was 14 and growing up here in NZ. Someone let me ride a 50cc Suzuki and it went from there. Soon I was riding 250cc and lusting after more. My friends tried to tell me but I shut them out. Soon I was rebuilding bikes as well and it seems like only last week I had a 1000cc Suzuki and.... well.... now I have a Buell 1125r. Please don't judge me!

Hi New to Buell and have been reading information off this site and I’m impressed with the wealth of information here.
In October money being tight I traded my 91fxr convertible for cash and a 2000 m2 cyclone.
I always said to myself when I got to old and too large to go to fast I would buy a Harley so I went to the local cars for causes and bought a ’91 FXR not really knowing much about Harleys. It had what I was looking for removable saddlebags and windscreen. I spent some time fixing just about everything and add a Revtech 6speed.
I also said to myself if they ever made an American sport bike I would like to own one I have owned jap inline fours. I especially liked my ’84 FJ 1100 that I bought new in ‘84
So I got the m2 it need some miner work and it appears that at one time it was laid down. The blinkers were gone and the clutch lever was off another type of bike.
After cutting the seat back for a better fit the bike is now one of the most comfortable bikes that I ever ridden.
Ok now that said I will be posting on the M2 board with some questions about transmission problems.
Ed

Greetings Buell Enthusiasts. I had to part with my 1999 X1 but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in this trick OEM flyscreen that I saved. I bought it new for $160 in 2003; Eric was visiting the shop so I got him to sign it. I then spent $200 getting multiple layers of clear as a finishing touch. It is stunning! It would look good on your S1 or X1 or hanging on a wall as art. I'm asking $75. Thanks for letting me speak...

Sorry I forgot to mention in my posting of the fly screen for sale, the cheapest shipping I could find from my place in Canada to the USA is $30. So I'm asking $105 in total. Regards

We know what you meant, Frank was just having fun with you.

The original S bikes were short wheel base, great fun. I put like 30k miles on an XB9SX (taller seat than the normal S, a few other minor cosmetic differences).

Then came the "long" bikes. So like the XB12S long or something. They added a bit to the wheel base by lengthening the frame, which is the same as the Uly frame. The SS (or was it an SST?) is unusual but special, it is a long with a single seat.

Many of them (I think) also had "low" versions. They used a less thick seat, and they dropped about an inch out of the suspension.

And of course there were the X bikes, the XB12X Ulysses (long suspension travel) and the XB12XT (kinda like a Ulysses Low... less suspension travel).

They are all good choices. And don't discount the 9 bikes either. They are down a bit on low RPM horsepower, but they rev higher. Coming onto the back straight at Mid Ohio from a slow carousel I (a fat guy) would be on the 9sx right behind people on 12's, we would all pin the throttle, and the 12's would "walk" away from the 9's. Not a humiliating walk away, literally about a walking pace difference in acceleration. So you would loose a race, but on the street both bikes are fun.

And that 9 motor is probably the most bullet proof motor to ever roll out of a Harley factory. It's just stupid reliable.

Which is a shame... I thing the "big" bikes were meant to be a 9 with a turbo before Harley "helped" Buell... and I think a 9 with a turbo would have had much more power and much more reliability than a 12.

But I digress... : )

I'm new to the website, the forum and, as for that matter, posting. I am NOT new to loving motorcycles though. I drove minibikes with my brothers as a teenager and secured a license back around 1971 when I was about 20. I gave my son his first ride at 2 yrs old back in 1987, but have let life get in the way of enjoyment for a long time. Although I have ridden on the back of my husband's 2001 Cyclones for several years and LOVE the Buells, I just recently purchased a 2001 Buell Blast for myself as a retirement gift. I've had the bike for under a month and have only driven it about 100 miles due to constant blowout of various rocker gaskets. It's currently in the shop for the third time (since I've had it) and for the fifth time that I know of, all for the same problem. I do love driving it when it's working, but think I'll have to do some research on why the shop can't get this thing sealed up. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and let you know that it was a Buell Blast that brought me back to life.

Hi Everyone,
Total newbie on all counts, new to forum, new to motorcycles and new to Buell. I got my endorsement July 15th of this year, and have had my Buell Blast for a little more than a week. Just gaining my confidence and experience, before venturing further afield. Having fun and games with seeking out the elusive neutral, and getting the hang of the clutch. But along the way having an awful lot of fun. I chose the Buell Blast, because of the low seat....I am 5' 5", and weigh 125lbs. It seems like it is made just for me. Hubby has fallen in love with it too, but it is too small for him...phew at least I know that it is all mine. He drives a Yamaha Seca 750, and we are looking forward to getting on the roads together. Excited to find this forum, and hope to learn alot about my new passion.
