Hi, Marcel from California. Just bought a 2008 XB12X from Leslie out in Dallas. Got a one way ticket out there and rode it back home. Love the bike, would buy it all over again.
I'll put a trip report together, just dont know where but as soon as I figure out where on this board i'll put one together.

Hello all, and greetings from Wisconsin! I have been riding a Ninja 500R for the past 4 years. I love the bike, and it is a lot of fun, but to say that it is a bit cramped for touring is an understatement.

Here is a picture of my bike:

After a couple of test rides, I have decided to go for the major upgrade, and get the XB12XT. I found it to be quite roomy, yet still fun and flickable.

I will finish out this season on the Kawasaki, and I will be buying the Buell first thing next season.

Hi everyone, Bruce from Columbus, Ohio here. New Bueller and new rider both. Been thinking about buying a Buell as my first bike for several years (still have a catalog from 2004) and finally broke down this past July.

Bought a 'slightly used' (only 102 miles) 2008 XB12Ss after going out window shopping with my wife. Was thinking about a Blast for my first bike, but then sat on the XB12 and it just felt right.

The clincher was when my wife said, "You look good on that - you should get it!"

Two days later the bike was in my garage. :-)

Been riding for 6 weeks now (minus 2 for vacation) and loving every minute!! We're both looking forward to getting to know other Buellers around Columbus.

Beautiful! Congratulations!

Now get thine ass over to Iron Pony there in Columbus, with about $150 in your pocket, and come back with a basic no name cordura armored jacket, pants, and some gauntlet gloves. Its all cheap no name stuff, but its a great deal for the price and it'll get you going. Something over the ankle is good for shoes as well, though I have not had much luck finding cheap boots here in the states... so get those after you have all the other stuff.

I'm in Lebanon... The Buell inside pass day at mid Ohio is coming up in a couple weeks, if you want to run up to Lexington and meet a lot of Buellers and see a lot of Buells on the track, it would be a good time to meet people!

Congratulations! I love that clear red.

HELP!
I am shopping for a fun commuter bike at a reasonable price. I found a 2002 M2 with about 7000 miles on it for a reasonable price. It has a scratch on the right side of the tank and the shifter is bent. Wow the linkage is flimsy on these things! I am pretty sure that if I buy it I will fabricate all new linkage from 3/8" 304 ss round bar. Is this year model supposed to have a tach? What should I do to get rid of the giant ugly air box?

Hello!

This has been my first year as an everyday rider.

Since April here outside Detroit I've done 8500 miles on a little Yamaha XJ Seca (naked conversion).

Exactly two weeks ago today I stepped up to a 6800 mile, one owner 2001 M2 Cyclone.

Best decision ever!

I've done 1400 miles in 14 days on the Buell. Including a couple days down to broken motor mount bolts (doh!)

Big thanks to this forum, and specifically Buelltours (Cornel) and Don Casto for assistance on shortening the Buell specific learning curve.

Any Motor City Buellers out there?

Ride Fast, Ride Safe.
Mark

I have limited time to post or even lurk plus no photos avail. Me just a former old timer a former ATC & Blacksheep that still try to go to Laconia & hang with Scott's crew. Enjoying the new book 25yrs of Buell. Not exactly sure i understand the statement "no S3Ts were made in '99...?". Currently doing back road daytrips in upstate NY. Scuffing in a fresh 616.

been lurking around on here for a while and i thought i'd finally sign up and introduce myself. i have an '03 xb9s that i bought from the original owner who only put 2000 miles on the thing in the five years he had it. it's bone stock now but i just picked up a race ecm, race intake, and am looking at a muffler. i need to decide between the drummer or the spec ops. i like the sound of the drummer but i don't like the billet end cap. the spec ops is a little more blatty but i do really like the welded on end piece. guess i'll flip a coin...

i'm from so cal but currently living in colorado and about to move back to so cal for a new job. my new job is about an hour away from where i live so my buell is going to by my freeway flyer. not exactly my favorite type of riding but it's the cheapest/quickest way to work.

yes my screen name is retarded but it's the same screen name i use everywhere and i've used it forever. if it ain't broke why fix it, right?

Got a new 07 BLK ULY Saturday. this is my first Buell, I have raced off road for over 20yrs, and always had Jap. sport bikes, until two yrs ago I finally got a HD. I have been lurking at the Buell's for quite a while. and if i could physically kick my own butt! I would!! FOR NOT GETTING A "BUELL" SOONER. This is the best ride, best handling, and the funnest bike I have ever had.

Hi all! I'm 25 and live in Austin, TX. I currently ride an '04 Sportster on occasion, but I'm looking into buying a Buell. Fairly new rider and an even newer resident to Austin. I've been trying to do some research and stumbled across this site, so thought I'd go ahead and join to see what I can learn!

Just bought (Sept 10), a repo'd 2000 x1 Racing Stripe(red). Had no clue whether it ran or how many miles it had. Bank looked for 3 years trying to get it back. I put a battery in and it started right up, with 1850 miles on it. Paid $2500

Hi from the San Francisco Bay area. Bought my first Buell three weeks ago, a red 2009 Ulysses XT. I've been riding a beautiful Sportster 1200 Custom for the last couple of years (before that it was the occasional sport bike). Fun bike to ride, upgraded suspension, Stage 1, etc. Finally had it right where I wanted it. But always had my eye on sport touring bikes. Researched, looked at and tested KTM, BMW and Ulys. The Uly was the last one I tested. My local dealer didn't have any in stock. Said they would have one in October. Luckily one of the dealers close to work had a brand new 2009 XT, fresh out of the box and not setup. They set it up a couple of days later and I took for a demo ride. 25 miles later I came back with a silly grin and bought my first new bike ever. Loving it more each day. What a great bike. This site is fantastic and full of great info. Just wanted to say hi.

I've been lurking here for about twelve months after seeing my first Uly and trying to find out about it. After considering different bikes, I bought my Uly for my birthday! Always up for riding partners in NW Indiana or southside Chicago.

Jeremy,
You might want to get your facts straight before you start accusing me of these things.

Your cam cover bushing for the #2 cam spun which is what caused all these issues not shoddy parts or workmanship. This was a cover you provided not me. I did not change any bearings in your cover. I cannot be responsible for damage caused by bad parts that you provided. In addition there is absolutely no possible way that your valves could have hit your pistons with the cams you had installed as they have extremely low TDC lifts making it impossible. We always check valve to piston clearnce before sending out a motor and there was more than enough with the S&S 600 cams. You put over 150 miles on the bike before these issues started.

I have tried to help you and in fact gave you a free set of $300 cams along with many other parts.

I am truly sorry this has happened but I cannot be responsible for every little thing that goes wrong with your bike after you have received it.

You only sent me your engine not the entire bike. If I had the whole bike I could have made sure everything was in working order before returning it to you.

As it was I only had an engine and we are not able to test run the engine before returning it back.

Your problems were caused by YOUR bad cam cover bushing, not by something we did wrong.

I have spoke with your Dad about trying to fix the parts that are damaged but it now appears you are trying to work up a case against me. That is too bad as I truly believe we did everything possible to help you. My offer is still open.
