Hello-

Looking to see if anyone on the board has one?

Searched but did not find anything.

Looking for impressions on sound, build quality, ease of installation, etc.

THANKS!

I have a friend who has had multiple exhaust options for his SX and RX. He felt that the HMF was better in the mid range, and has swapped all 3 of his EBRs to HMF exhausts.

I haven't done the HMF install yet, but it seems like it should be the easiest of all the muffler replacement options.

They do sound good - much better than stock, but not as loud or throaty as a Dean Adams.

Anybody that has the 3/4 exhaust system have pictures of how it looks. I don't see it shown on their web site. Is it similar to the Barker Exhaust hanging system? Curious minds want to know before purchase of $800 worth of exhaust and ECM! If it hangs like stock exhaust, I'm not interested, just saying..

No ride report yet, but some pics:

EBR said the fuel map was significantly different than others for the HMF pipe, so I bought the ECU. If you have a race ECU, they will upload the HMF map to it, I was told.

^^

Sorry for the HUGE PICTURES!

Fit was very tight, but it went together fine. Not a huge fan of the bolt clamps, but they are very "Buell". The finish on the can is real nice, satin smooth black. After I started it the pipe from the collector forward became a light gold color. On my subjective loud scale:

Stock LOUD FACTOR = 1-2/10

(All apologies if not, so guessing here) If Dean Adams pipe is like the Drummer (I had a Drummer on my 1125CR) LOUD FACTOR = 10/10

Stock with Finishing kit (tips) LOUD FACTOR = 4/10

This pipe LOUD FACTOR = 7/10

I am not anticipating any fuelling or drivability issues. I'll report in if there are any.

Steve - is that considered the 3/4 HMF system? It doesn't look much diff than stock. I like the tail tidy, is that from AF1 or ?
I'm glad I purchased the Laguna Blue as well, sweet color IMHO!!
Welcome to the Laguna Blue Crew!

Of course the maps for the HMF will definitely be a lot different. It has a mile long mid pipe and the glass pack is twice the length and doesn't flow nearly as much as the APH or DA.

Ride report- the ECU has improved fuelling over the "tips" ECU. Steady throttle mild surge completely gone.

Bike sounds good going down the road- the stock muffler with tips always sounded a little muted to my ears, this thing sounds like a proper v-twin now, which I like.

DS,

If you would like to compare Dean's exhaust to your HMF, I have one on my SX.

I would rate it an 11/10.

I am east of you, but work and ride in and around Austin frequently.

I would be interested to hear the results of the comparison to know if my butt dyno is accurate. I have had both systems and my prediction would be (assuming gearing, rider weights and any other factors are equal other than the exhaust and tune) that doing a roll on type race from 6000 ish rpms would result in the HMF bike grabbing the early lead but most likely getting run down at some point by the bike with the shorty exhaust. If y'all make this happen please post results - need to know if I should schedule a butt dyno re-calibration service appointment.

Careful with that pipe on the track if you go. It will be very close to dragging the ground at an intermediate pace and touch down at an expert pace.
