2014 SX #24, currently 1300 miles. Bought 'new' in March '17.
Since I got her, she has never liked to sit: )
Any more than 5 days and she'll crank slow and not start. The battery tests fine once charged up, but I know Buells well enough to consider getting a new one anyway

Checking for a draw I found 2
The big one I traced to the dash display itself. I can remove the power wire and the draw goes away. Is that a software update thing? Its 7/2/2017 so I don't think anyone gets help from EBR anymore

The other draw flickers a little bit and goes away when I unplug the EBR ECM. I will try the stock ECM next, but that still doesn't solve the dash issue.

I'd appreciate any ideas you have: )

There was an issue with early fuel pumps that would allow the pump to run continuously at key off. Do you have that happening? It would certainly cause the battery to drain, but I would think it would be quicker than you're experiencing.
That was caused by the manufacturer of the pump allowing solder to drop down into the 4-wire connection point and it would short two of the wires causing the pump to run all the time.
This was identified early in the 2014 production run.

1.5 amps, or 1.5 mA of draw?

If it's 1.5 amps, that's huge draw.
If it's 1.5 mA, I would think that's normal and it might just be a battery problem.

1.5 amps. That figures about right for 5 days of drain on a M/C battery aH rating...

1.5mA, I wish!! 30-50mA is acceptable to me.

Anyone know an option to get the dash updated?

If you go to the EBR 1190 Owners Group Facebook page, the very first thing that shows is a sticky by Dan Hurda of EBR that explains in detail what to do.

I'm not on the Facebook, but I assumed EBR wasn't open anymore to do that as of now? Guess it's worth a call. Thanks!

Sent in the dash and ECM for updates on 4/17. "EBR Tech" doesn't seem to think the update will fix it but I sure hope they check it while it's there, where else would I go?

Particularly since there is no "EBR Tech" unless LAP is operating something under that name as they finish things up . . . did it go to Michigan or Wisconsin?

Dis Con Nec Ted
Queensr˙che
I've got to do something
About this loathsome
State I'm in
Dis con nec ted.
Dis con nec ted.
Dis con nec ted.
Everywhere, I see decay.
Mechanized and sterilized
Visions in replay.
I must release my rage.
Oh
Dis con nect ted.
I'm
Dis con nec ted.
Feeling so
Dis con nec ted.
Down
Maybe all I need
Besides my pills
And the surgery
Is a new metaphor for reality.
I'm
Dis con nec ted.
Feeling so
Dis con nec ted.
Oh
Dis con nec ted.
You know.

I've been to both the Operation Mindcrime and Empire concerts! Haha.

The dash and stock ECM went to Wisconsin.

The "EBR Tech" person knows their stuff and answers in a timely manner, but is currently avoiding my direct question of what the ECM is looking for at pin #34 grey plug to activate the quick shift function in my Race ECM.

"Looking for more than a ground signal"
"Different than a 1125 ECM"
and
"Do not put 5V to it"

Weird considering a dynojet 4-104 sensor works on a friends EBR and it's the same sensor on my 1125.

"Looking for more than a ground signal"
Maybe a hint at certain Ohms needed or even a pattern. Guessing here.

Crusty,
WHAT??? Are you copping to being an old deaf cute, or showing disbelief at the lyrics? The song leaves me feeling disconnected from it. I take it to be Brankin's explanation of how he feels in the LAP/EBR world he is watching unfold. It is where his link goes.

My buddies RX works with the 4-104 sensor. It's a 2 pin sensor that is literally just a switch between ground and the signal wire

And why the mystery? It's not like I could spend $550 for their kit... if I could find it: (

Must be a resting voltage thing? I'll keep testing.

Update:
Packed up and sent my dash and stock ECM to EBR. $7.85 postage and they got it in 2 days.

I included a specific set of questions with them:
1) Please check for the 1 amp draw in the dash
2) Please make sure to enable the quick shift function in the ECM, my EBR ECM doesn't work.
3) if possible, Calibrate to the 44 tooth sprocket because I get a phantom 4th gear.

They sent it back in my old tiny box and packing for $24 postage, and I got these answers.

1) He 'can't test for a draw because the test equipment was sold', and "I only have a DVOM'. I think thats all you need to check draw? and it still draws almost a full amp when plugged in: ( I can't imagine who else could help?? Any ideas??

The tech did mention that they initially had dash draw issues with the 1125's so they were extra sure to check the 1190 when designing it. That doesn't help my current situation. GET IT??? Current! thats a PUN son!; )

The fuel pump is not running constantly, but does run intermittently for a long, long, time after key off.

2) 'Every ECM now has the quick shift function enabled unless we're specifically asked not too'. So my EBR ECM and the stock one should both work with my Dynojet 4-104 sensor. Neither of them works. The dash diagnostics see the 1.3V signal drop to 0.0V when activated, but does not kill the ignition... WTH??

3) He can't change the speedo ratio (to what the Black lighting has) because it 'would require CARB testing'.

So... at least I can see the turn signal indicators better...

Do I have to buy an IDS ECM just to make the shifter work, and calibrate the gearing?

Do I need to buy another dash?

I'd hate to spent $800 for that stuff on a total guess: (

Call Tim at IDS and talk to him about the ECM about options for it. He has more options than just what is listed on the site.

"Yea IDS will flash gearing changes for $50.."

To my stock ECM? To the EBR race ECM? Or do I still have to purchase the IDS programmable ECM to get that deal?

It does not have to be a programmable ECM. I'm not sure about the stock ECM but IDS manufactured all the EBR and Buell ECM's. You can send Tim an email through their contact form on the website.

All the 1125 and 1190s do that, they maintain pressure for a few minutes to prevent issues with hot restarts like after stopping for gas.

Gearing is in the ECM not the cluster, but yea they probably can't adjust the stock ECM without risking backlash from the EPA and such (Harley got in hot water not long ago for similar). If it was a Race ECM it should be no big deal for them to adjust the gear ratio. Either EBR or IDS can reprogram that for a few bucks.

You mentioned you have a Race ECM already, either company can make the adjustments to it.
