The EBR forum needs some love. I'm sure we're all feeling disappointed in the news, but we still own a very special motorcycle. Let's share what we love about these bikes.

OK, so my weekend fun ride was about as good as it gets. On a super-twisty section of highway 1, hugging the California coastline, I really felt connected to the bike (SX) like never before. Leaning forward I had that feeling of control where it almost felt like my hands were on either end of the front wheel axle. So much confidence-inspiring feedback.

The gearing is a little tall for tight twisties, but I was able to maintain just enough speed to stay out of the grumbling zone below 5K. When this bike sings, it REALLY sings. The limitless power is such an intoxicating feeling - so much in reserve.

I never aspired to be a track rider, but I feel with this bike it's inevitable I'll end up there. It's just begging to be pushed harder, certainly harder than is sensible on the road.

I guess it's still a bit cold for many owners out there. Anyone else been able to put some miles on their pride and joy lately?

Sofa,

A good idea for a thread. Let's talk these bikes up.

Feb 10 I rode my RX from Paso Robles to San Diego and back.
Roughly 1000 miles or so. New Roadtecs from Metzeler.
I went East from Paso to Lancaster and on down to Cajon Junction and took the 15 to SD.

Not much for twisties, true. However, driving along with the other crazies. Base speed of 70 and most in the 80's the RX was awesome. Dealing with big, high speed traffic the bike was awesome in every regard. Easy power and lots of times in the 90's--100's just to keep from getting run down.

Nice and skinny too, for the split laneing.

If you all haven't driven in Caly lately give it a try

I have pushed that bike through all sorts of mountain roads--just awesome and that is comparing it to RV 1000 Aprilia, Ducati's of various types.

Love the big brake plus easy power in the 80- 110 range.

Mirrors suck and average full burn is around 40 mpg.

I raised the bars and rigged up a luggage rack--I call it a sports tourer now.

Haven't done much riding this year on my SX, I just got it back Monday, dealer put on new tires, powdercoated the wheels, 44T sprocket, and replaced the starter motor.

Still have my 2008 1125R, since 4/4/2008. Love every minute of it, and smile at it when I can't ride it in the winter...

For me, Buell is not gone. EBR is not gone.

All of it will always live, as an exceptional set of products, built by even better people, for a market that generally has never accepted something other than that which was already the norm.

(e.g., at least for the last 20 years...before that, it was win on sunday, sell on Monday)

Mike 13 and others,

I just responded to a private message from dedsld about the raised bars.
I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet.

If you see this Sled, please post all the raised bar stuff I sent you.

I will give it a few days and if he doesn't I will.

Happy to share

Those wheels do look really nice. If I didn't have a black bike with black wheels, I'd ask where you got them done...

So, where'd you get them done?
