Read the second paragraph.
No clue about the engine. Probably some version of the current Buell would be my guess.

"Reed has been as quick as 6.95 in testing on the EBR 1190RX, which features a Kosman chassis and a S&S power plant."

So it has EBR body work? Sounds like Abe Lincoln's axe.

Listed as a 2014 1190RX with a Kosman chassis and S&S power plant. Since when does S&S make the 1190?

Since when does S&S make the 1190?

None of the NHRA bikes use anything production based for powertrain.
The only thing they have in common is that they are both v-twins.

However, that is a stock RX windshield

It would be interesting to see their overbuilt version of the engine.

Shares 0 parts, and about the only similarity is that it's a 2 cylinder.
Different degree angle of the cylinders, etc, etc.
It is not based, even loosely, on an EBR engine.
It is all of Star/S&S design.

Pro-Stock bikes have always been this way, from the Buell to the V-Rod bikes, and now the EBR.

One thing's for sure, I have never heard the Buell brand name mentioned anywhere more than on ESPN's coverage of NHRA racing. So, whether you like drag racing or not, even Stevie Wonder can see that this will be good for EBR!

99buellx1,
I see it as false calling it an EBR 1190RX then. About as lame as painting a nascar to look like a celica or any other of the cars they have no ties to.

Oddball,

It's exactly the same premise as NASCAR.

The V-ROD is zero parts production V-Rod.
The Suzuki is zero parts production Suzuki.
Likely the same for the Victory, but I'm not 100% sure, so I won't say it.
And the list goes on.

The Victory is a Buell. S&S motor in a Kosmon chassis but with different body work.

Snacktoast,
How nice it would be to see the stock car return to stock car racing? Lets have Dodge Hellcats on the track. Unique shapes one can tell from a distance and not have to look close at the sticker on the bumper.

I agree, but I'm sure it'll never happen. Money and politics will prevent it, sadly. I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, but that would certainly spice it up a bit.

Put a TrailHawk on the oval too. Grande Cherokee on an m-class platform with a 707 hp HellCat motor. Motor will probably be detuned to 600 hp for the street.

Snacktoast,
I'm not much for nascar either. As a kid it was fun to watch. The cars began at least as production and were as fast as they are now.

Ourdee,
Maybe in the truck class?

Regarding speeds, in 1970, those boys were really moving!
