Apparently the print version of this came out weeks ago (STILL waiting on my copy of CW).

They give the SX fairly good marks, but something's goofy here. Their 2015 SX with straight tips on the exhaust produced only 154 RWHP compared to 161 RWHP for a 2014 RX with stock exhaust they had previously tested. They also complain that the SX's fueling is less than perfect.

Surely they weren't bone-headed enough to install the tips without the race ECM?

I thought the same thing when I read the article.

BTW- The article includes some really nice, large format shots of the red-wheeled SX that make excellent wallpaper.

Damn! I totally forgot to post the link!

Here's a sample of the photos:

I really like the red wheels.

Those wheels sure look light.

Is that a too-long bolt at the exhaust tips? If it were my bike, it would bug me and need to be trimmed or replaced, if possible.

and a missing resonator, which probably played a part in the fueling issues

At AIM last year they told us that red wheels would be an option for all colors for 2015.

Anyone remember the grey and red bike I posted up from AIM?

Why yes, yes I do.
AIM will just not be the same this year without EBR, but I will be going anyway.

Unfortunately, I will not be making the trek down there from Indy this year with no EBR presence, doesn't make much sense.

^ THAT is a sharp color combination. I'm still thinking about trying that with Plasti-dip on my Uly.

That Black and Red 1190SX isn't really that much 'news' - depending on where you look...

Looking at the parts list from the USB stick '1190 RX/SX service manual', I see Midnight Black body parts for the SX and Red wheels for the RX and SX.

And the glorious silver and red combo was supposed to be used on both the RX and SX.

Apparently there were 'bold new colors' for 2015,

Just caught up on my reading...

At AIM last year they told us that red wheels would be an option for all colors for 2015.

I'd imagine Strike Yellow bodywork with Race Red wheels would look a little McDonald-ish, no?

But then again I cringed when I first heard of orange and blue being used together - and the Molten Orange and Nuclear Blue combo that resulted is truly a classic,

Didn't EBR state that the "race" exhaust (tips) needed a different fuel map to work properly? I am curious of the test bike got that. Not making excuses for EBR, but I thought that was the case.

^ Yes, absolutely. In fact they said removing the secondary resonator without installing the race ECM could cause severe engine damage.

That rear wheel is excellent - showing something I never noticed before - regardless of bike. the typical three spoke design, but rotated 90 degrees when referenced from one side to the other. Very cool.
