I am looking at picking up an SX but am curious about the riding position. I am 5' 11" with 32" inseam and currently have an 08 1125R, 06 Uly, and 03 Blast. I really like the 1125R, but might be more comfortable with the CR as its a little more upright.

So my question is: what is the riding position compared to either of these bikes and the SX. I really like the design and styling of the SX and want to pull the trigger, but I would be buying and shipping without a test ride or even sitting on one.

I have tried to look at various pictures on Google, but its very hard to tell. I have heard that the plywood looking seat is actually very comfortable too.

If this is going to be a good fit, even though I can't find a test ride, I am trying to put together my plan to submit to my Chief Financial Officer for approval. I know I will have to downsize the current inventory though.

Thank you for all the feedback.
Jeremy

5'11 32 inseam here I own an 1125cr and an 1190sx. SX might aswell be a touring cruiser compared to the CR. I have a saddleman tech seat on the CR and the SX stock is a lot more comfortable.

18k miles on the CR (Owned for 5 years)

5K Miles on the SX (Owned for 4 months)

Just do it no regrets

Way more comfortable than an R, or an R in CR trim. More upright, seat is more comfortable. It is narrower, and for me, the edges of the seat don't make my legs fall asleep like the R. I can't flatfoot either of them, but just seems so much easier to manage. Much more comfortable and better engineered ride.

Thanks for the quick feedback.

Anyone in the Northeast, CT area have an SX that would be willing to meet somewhere and allow me to look it over and at least try out the seat height?

Thanks

trying to pull the trigger, but the one I wanted happened (Blue) to be under deposit already, so looks like I will be trying to get my second option (Red).

Thanks everyone for the input. Now can't wait to finish the deal in the morning and get the shipping arranged.

Man, I can't wait.

I have an 1125R, 1125CR and 1190SX.

I've had both the clubmans and upright bars on my CR. I would say the egonomics of the SX are very similar to that of the CR with clubmans, while the RX has similar egronomics of the 1125R, or CR with clubmans.

The SX only needs drop footpegs to feel like a Lightning.

The stock seat is very comfy, better than the stock seat on the 1125 and Ulysses for sure.

Froggy - thanks for the feedback. Any info on where to pick up a set of drop footpegs or are they interchangeable/compatible from other models?
