My new, less than a month old, RX had a clutch issue on the way home last night. (It wouldn't fully pull back and was REALLY hard to pull and felt like it wouldn't engage all the way.) It was hard to shift. The low oil light came on a block from the dealer this morning when I brought it in, but the dealer and I looked and saw the engine oil level was good.

The dealer told me that I am out of luck because EBR is bankrupt and they aren't responding to my dealer for parts or service questions... and also that my warrenty is useless.

They did offer to pull it apart and look at it, but said that there may be nothing they can do.

Anyone have any ideas on possible remedies? I do not have the service manual and my dealer doesn't have them in stock (in case they won't / can't fix it.)

I still love the bike and hope things work out long term. I do feel like there should be some sort of warrenty remedy for those of us that purchased these bikes.

I just made my first payment today - stung a little.

Did they install the reduced effort clutch ?? Try bleeding your clutch line.

No. They said they said EBR is difficult to communicate with and they would do it when they got the parts. It doesn't look good now...

Do as Dmhines suggests. Probably have TOO MUCH brake fluid in the reservoir. Make sure you use the correct DOT brake fluid.

Regarding the RX/SX Field Service Manual, there is a link at the top of the EBR forum page!

I would say too much fluid is unlikely. If you can't pull the lever all the way in, does it feel like it's hitting a hard stop or something else?
First place I would go is inside the clutch cover to inspect the actuator, including removing the actuator piston and inspecting that for any signs of binding in the sleeve bore.
If you don't find anything there, look further. If the clutch hub nut starts to back off, it can prevent you from pulling the lever in all the way.

Two_seasons ... are you saying there is a link to download the Service manuals? I don't see it.

Snacktoast:
I think you are confusing the clutch hub nut with the Spherical nut!

The spherical nut holds the secondary clutch actuator piston in the bore.

Two,

I am not confusing the two.

However, we are in agreement that the problem likely lies in that area.

It sounds just like the clutch hub but has come loose. That's a very easy fix. If your uncomfortable doing the job without the RX shop manual just use an 1125R manual as the set up is identical.
Best of luck.
Pat Mooney.

If you want to lighten the clutch on your EBR's or need spares for the slave cylinder the Oberon replacement as fitted to 1125's is still available from the UK ,they are superbly made ; )

I got my bike back from the shop yesterday. It was the nut that came loose. They fixed it and also replaced the cluster (they said it started throwing codes.)

Only charged me $1

Nice .. wonder how they will recoup their money?? Did they replace with a 2015 cluster? 2015 cluster has some improved graphics and relocated turn signal indicators.

I didn't notice it on my way home... Turn signals are easier to see. Must be a 15 cluster.
