Coleman's in Woodbridge had a Demo Day yesterday and I tried the RX. I'm not sure I got above 6000 rpm because the windscreen edge was behind the tach display and I couldn't see it and I am used to shifting my 12S. Believe me, the HP at 6 grand was plenty impressive for me. The clutch lever did get heavy towards the end (it was a made in 5/14 bike) and I couldn't tell the difference between running and off. On the overrun, there was sort on a ticking noise, was that the slipper clutch? Those are some negatives, but as expected, the handing, brakes, etc. were great. The first rider of the day had it stall between 1st & 2nd, so the shop turned off the TC. The second guy rides a Busa and was impressed by the RX power, but said he noticed how short the wheelbase was. He was surprised that my 12S was 2+ inches shorter. I'm afraid I'm going to stick with my nice mild 100hp 12S for a while.

The 12s is a nice bike. I traded mine for an 1125cr. I miss it. I'll probably pick up another one when the opportunity presents itself. The ticking is always present on the 1125, so I figure the 1190 is going to be the same ticking, rattling, sewing machine. It's probably the timing chains hitting their guides. Soon the counterbalances will chime in, then the clutch. It will be a full symphony after about 5000 miles. I used to think it was just how rotax engines were but my Aprilia doesn't rattle at all.
