Posted this on the 1125 board before I thought it should go here -
Do yourself a favor. Do not go ride this bike unless you have the money to buy one. I will just haunt you.
I cannot imagine how any bike could be more fun on the street. It is comfortable, effortless, and crazy fast. Even my old bones felt like I could ride it all day. Yeah, like all twins, it's buzzy in spots, but just upshift and let it ease along. It will pull from places most bikes won't. I found the low RPM fueling to be very good. The throttle is a little touchy, but only because it has so much low end power and the cables needed adjusting. No quick shifter? Clutchless upshifts were seamless and easy, so who cares. No slipper clutch? yes but they have the engine braking well controlled so I didn't notice.
So what would I change? The only thing I would change would be conversion to GP shift, and an adjustable steering damper because that's what I'm used to.
So consider yourselves warned. This bike will haunt you.

Is it red? If so, I'll take two. I've always wanted to clutch a pair of Ruby Slippers!

Slippery clutch is calibrated to be used at closed throttle at high rpm. Does not slip during low rpm because available vacuum is not hough enough to over come clutch pressure

I have been saying this about just about every super naked I have ridden over the years...I am sure the SX will be the same for me.

Americans love their fairings, makes them look, and feel fast at bike nights...hahaha!

I don't consider the vacuum assisted clutch a real slipper clutch since it does not behave as one. The 1125R has the same clutch design. The point is they have done a great job managing engine braking, so you don't miss it.

It's real use and benefit (as I see it) you run a gear to red line and fully close throttle. Clutch is then disengaged/slipped to prevent this wheel hop condition

I can second Rob. I am really impressed, not only that the bike looks cooler live then on any picture, it also gives you an real outstanding ride. Very well done EBR!

I test rode an SX today. I went to the dealer to look at the RX (the pic with the race exhaust and nice 2k incentive helped get me there.)

My impression after seeing the RX and SX in person is that the fit and finish is very good. The RX in particular (except the exhaust) is a beautiful bike.

They had an SX "demo" and offered me a nice long test ride and I took them up on it.

I currently ride an 1125r.

When I sat on it I initially thought the position was a little too upright, however it was very comfortable and as I rode it I got accustomed to the position and found it enjoyable.

After a couple of lights, before we got to the highway, I noticed the clutch felt a little stiff. Toward the end of the ride it Was very noticeable. I understand this has been fixed on the 2015's.

On the highway it accelerated nicely. It felt much more refined than my 1125r. (They had it pre set with TC 10.) I was expecting more seat of the pants power than my 1125, but maybe my expectation was unreasonable?

I played around with the traction control a bit and actually thought it felt "faster" with the TC off. The display was nice, intuitive, and easy to read. It was a pain in the ass to have to come to a complete stop to use it and not have handlebar controls for it.

I really like the exhaust note and the sound it makes on engine deceleration. It cornered beautifully and inspired confidence on my first ride.

Overall it was really pleasant to ride.

I did happen to walk over to the Ducati side of the showroom. I sat on the red 1199 Panigale and noticed all of the suspension settings were electronic and the sales guy came over and showed me the display, pointed out the quick shifter... They have a black one coming in next week and I'm going back for a test ride.

Overall: I am in the market to upgrade and I prefer to buy American. The EBR is "nice," but the test ride didn't sell me. There are so many more features that are available for just a little more money that it is hard to pull the trigger. Maybe all of the Ducati's electronics won't translate well on the test ride?

The EBR "IS" faster with TC off. There was a dealer that accidentally dyno'ed the bike with TC on 3... Almost 50 HP down (116 RWHP). With it off- 160 RWHP.

Also, if the test bike has less than 1,000 miles, it wasn't the ideal bike for testing. These bikes run better after being "broken in" about 1,000 miles or so, cleaning up the low end throttle among other things.

This is all great news as I bought mine on sight with no test ride. Of course 28 degree Michigan weather and salty roads will deter any rider! I have been wondering if the seat would be comfortable on longer rides, as I do a couple week long rides a year with a few buds into Virginia, North and South Carolina, etc.. I was looking around at Saddlemen and Baldwins to see if anybody is offering seats for the EBR1190, to no avail. I am also wondering where owners are setting the TC, I know everybody's riding skills vary but I was considering starting at 5 and working around that depending on conditions etc.. I own and ride two 1125R/CR so the general riding format should be similar to the 1190, with a serious kick in the pants! So for know she sits in the heated garage all sexy and blue, with me drooling to ride the beast. Spring time is a long freakin' way's away!

there is a huge difference between the TC being above 3 and being off. But be careful as it can be a handful with it turned off if you drive it like an older Buell.

I started at 3 .. and dropped it down to 2. Not sure if there is a difference. I do notice that even at a setting of 2 the TC light will flash when accelerating while leaned for a turn. I have not ridden with it turned off yet ... 1125R mode.

Enjoy!

Tim, Loren Mock (aka Gowindward here, owner of Baldwin Saddles) will make a nice saddle with your stock seat as a base if you send it to them.

The bike puts its power to ground extremely well. You have to be fairly hamfisted to get it to misbehave, but once you do get it to spin it can be a handful with the TC off.
