AIM Expo's list of manufacturers attending the expo shows EBR and states that the 1190AX will debut there. Hmm. Either way, I'll be there!

So, less than a month ago, Dane Hoechst, EBR Program Manager said "maybe someday" about the AX release and now it's "definitely next month"?

I think Brother Hoescht was jerking our chains.

Maybe there will be a full prototype at AIM, but no concrete plans to start production yet. That could explain both statements as being reasonably accurate.

I hope I'm wrong. I may never have the necessary toy money to buy the 1190 AX, but I'd love to know they are in production.

I'm not seeing it. The link does take you to the AIM page which does mention EBR, but there is no mention of the AX debut.

Here's a screencap that shows what it said previously:

Aimexpo

Now the question is, was it a mistake (there will be no AX reveal), or did someone let the cat out of the bag?

does anyone still think this is a possibility? i'm sure the guy that put that on the website knows nothing about Buell esp. a AX model. he had to have gotten it from somewhere. i'm very interested to see that model and i live close enough to make the show and back home in one day.

I'm kind of wondering if this article isn't more relevant to what's coming up at AIMExpo:

So does that mean that Hero will not co-distribute with EBR? I was hoping to see a Hixxer come along, but not even in Asia yet? I already have an awesome scooter, and have no interest at all in an 1190, so that kinda leaves me out for Hero or EBR both.

At this point I decide if I get the Honda 300 or the Honda 300. I'm not buying a Kawasaki 300, And all the others like the Triumph, and Yamaha are never going to make it here, Which leaves the so called KTM 390's, which may or may not ever make it here, and I already own a fine and well sorted EX-250.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to the AIM show again this year. Hope they have a Hixxer on display. If nothing else it comes with really good tires.

So does that mean that Hero will not co-distribute with EBR?

I haven't seen anything to indicate that. I'm pretty sure Erik himself confirmed US EBR dealers would also sell Hero bikes.

Court- I hope you're right!

I called both my local dealers, and they are clueless. Which is no change in the deal since I called both of them shortly after they were announced as EBR dealers.

One of them, did not return E-Mails, OR voice mails. The other at least answered my questions, but the sales person who suggested I stop by to see their operation on Sunday "forgot" they quit opening on Sunday. I would have rather spent that Sunday doing something besides an aimless road trip.

As far as the Hixxer goes, what little info can be gleaned indicates that some unspecified production issue has has prevented release in their own home market out to 2015 at some point. Discouraging.

I rode several hundred miles around the Upper Peninsula for several days... there were three of us there, one on a Super Tenere, me on the Uly, and another on a KLR-650.

Nobody was in anyone way at any time. We were a little worried up front about the single just out of break in running at 80 MPH on I-75 surviving Detroit drivers, but he had no problem at all. If we were pushing 90 or 100 perhaps he would have struggled with the full luggage, but we aren't stupid so that wasn't a problem.

The bike Wolf describes would be pretty damn tempting to me. A KLR-650 with EBR engineering.

I would rather see a DR650 that EBR waved a magic motorcycle wand over.

Air cooled
Hydraulic lifters

super simple to work on and almost 0 maintenance

ride
change oil
lube chain
new tires every now and then.
repeat

I personally feel that a parallel twin would feel quite at home in a mid-sized adventure/touring bike.

That would do too! What Wolf said, in that Hastur motor.

If the vibration is managed, I would be perfectly happy with a parallel twin. Almost as easy to maintain as a single, probably more durable, sounds nice, packages nice.

The front to back VTwin is cool, but it's a pain in the ass in many ways to maintain.

So if you go dual sport, the single. If you go street bike, that Hastur with the parallel twin and luggage. Make it work as a 1 up adventure bike (forget the passenger accommodations and just make the luggage work really well).

And sell me an "M2" front end retrofit for it before it leaves the showroom (or it will leave with a bag over it's head : ) ).

We can pick up the kit from our local BMW dealer. : )

It appears that sales on the current EBR motorcycles are not strong why would EBR produce another motorcycle that no one is going to buy. Start buying the bikes produced so EBR is in business long enough to produce more models. Put bags on the models and call it a day.

I hate this thread lol

My XT is missed some days. On others the TW kicks it's hiney. Two different bikes. Just like the AX will be. I only hope it will kick my TW's hiney on all days. The XT was the best bike I ever owned. After drinking the Koolaid for a few years I started to see the things that could have been done differently. Will everyone be able to handle the AX not being another 1190 except with bags. When I ride it out of Vegas on the long ride I expect to be able to hit the dunes I used to play in. And to be able to crack it open on the dry lake bed. I want to roll knee deep through the silt beds chasing a few roadrunners. Hope I don't get bit by a lizard when I make camp that night.
