Closest one to me is about 50 miles away, same place I bought my 1125 from. Surdyke HD.

Guess I know where I'll be getting mine from then.

Cool! My new local dealer near Indy also sells parts for my Kawaskis (up to 4 now) and Honda. Too bad they don't sell Buell parts also, they could be a one stop shop.

They sell BMW parts as well, so when I find an old Airhead I can't resist, that will be covered also.

Erik's bikes alongside Hardley Ableson's again? Is this a bad episode of the twighlight zone? I didn't see this coming, nor am I overly enthusiastic about long haired tatooed / short haired SOA wannabe's marginalizing what's sitting on the otherside of the showroom floor. Again.

I guess you haven't been paying attention, most of the dealers that signed up to sell EBRs a few years ago were Harley dealers. There is nothing wrong with this, these are dealers that WANT to sell EBR bikes, not dealers that are being forced to take them in just so they can get a greater allotment of high profit geezer glides.

Its the principle of what HD did to Erik and Buell. Surely anyone can see the irony here. In my humble opinion this is a massive mis-step in both strategy and targeted demographic.

What Harley Davidson did has absolutely nothing to do with this. Dealers are individually owned, and the parts guy at Danbury HD and the salesman and Whites HD, and the GM of Hal's HD had nothing to do with Harley's incompetence with BMC.

There is no mis-step, these dealers are the ones that are Buell enthusiasts. Not allowing a dealer to sell EBR bikes because they also sell Harleys would be the mis-step. These dealers have proven they have what it takes to be positive for EBR, not tassel wearing SOA wannabees calling anything not a Harley "Jap Crap"

The HD dealer here sells Ducati and Husquavarna. He opened a new store for harleys and put the ducs and huqs in the old hd building. If you ask me a HD dealer that's selling a EBR is thumbing his nose at the factory. Best thing to do would be to support those dealers and show HD how they missed the boat.

T-Man, perhaps you never had an experience with one of the good dealers....

Modesto Harley / Buell was probably the best motorcycle dealer I ever set foot in. F&S HD / Buell in Dayton was very good as well. Even Powder Keg in Mason Ohio, though many of them there don't get it, have enough people there in there that do get it to make it a reasonably good experience to go there to get parts.

I'm with Frank on this one, even if he is incapable of appreciating a proper air cooled motorcycle. ; ) The problem was forcing Harley dealer that didn't want to carry Buells to carry Buells. The ones that did want to carry them were typically average to above average in terms of motorcycle dealerships.

This dealer list is evolving in a very non-traditional way and based on pretty "EBR specific" criterion.

I'd hazard a guess that the EBR experience at any of these dealers is going to be new, unique and amazing.

Call it a hunch.

It's a whole new day kids. . .

It's so cool to see Devon Battley, who has played such a huge role in Buell history . . on the list.

Were it not for Devon . . there would be no EBR.

It's that simple.

My future dealer is in Indy as well. I assume they don't currently have plans to stock any Buell parts for the Uly, but I have ordered parts from Southside Harley at Al's recommendation (I think) and that place is only 15 minutes North of Dreyer Honda. Not a one stop shop per Reep's comment but it's nice that they just happen to be close together.

FWIW, the Mason HD shop (aces and eights then powder keg then whatever they call it now) doesn't stock much, but they have parts guys that get Buell and will give you good support.

Just wade through the leather and t-shirts sales people up front and hold your breath until you get to the parts counter.

Well I guess it is what it is. I'm seeing this from an outside perspective - as most others will beyond this forum. The irony will not go un-missed out in general motorcycle media. Tis easy to miss the forest for all the trees in here fellas..

In any scenario I hope Erik sells bikes by the boatload, regardless of which showroom floor they sit on.

At first, I didn't think it would be a big deal, but...
Tis only 6 hours to my closest dealer...
Not a single dealer in NC.

However, the closest dealer - which I've communicated with via Email - is very enthused and excited to be representing and selling the EBR brand. EXACTLY what EBR needs! Not an H-D dealer, but there are indeed H-D dealers that are pro-Buell/pro-EBR.

Hopefully someone closer to me will step up to the plate in the near future,

I went to Cherry Hill Motorsports here in NJ a few months back to see the 2 RS's they have. They are a new dealer that sells EBR Triumph and Ducati. I spoke to their service manager about doing the upcoming valve check on my R and they said they would be glad to help me out. I hope things work out for them I don't want to deal with Hardley.

Lots of inquiries about delaers. We have hundreds of interested dealers, but have to work our way through all the paperwork and approvals from states, GE Credit, etc. The list of the dealers who have completed the process with us is up now at http://www.erikbuellracing.com/find-your-dealer/ More will be coming!

Hundreds of applications, now that sounds promising!

Good News for the Pacific NW. We now have a dealer in Bellevue WA at Bellevue Moto Sports
I went in to check them out and ask a few questions, and left 2 hours latter. The owner is very excited to be a dealer. They will have 6 bikes soon Supposed to be by year end. The will get initially 2 RS's and 4 RX's. One of the RX's will be a not for sale Demo bike. The owner Mike, seems to be a good guy. He was very transparent with his excitement and how the dealer agreement etc will work, explained the parts network etc. and its as Court has hinted, innovative. I just thought geez why hasn't someone else done this?{http://www.bellevuemotosports.com

"Buell friendly" in most Hardly stealerships means they don't hold their nose as they sell me an oil filter.

But there are some out there- Winchester HD, the parts guys have a speed shop and race 1125's at Daytona. I don't know of any EBR plans there, but they definately get it.

Even there though, I get the wierd HD "we're THE MAN and things are done OUR WAY" vibe. I don't like it, frankly.

I hope Manassas Honda or Coleman's in NOVA pick up EBR, I'd much rather deal with a BIG FOUR shop.

Anyone who chooses to carry the EBR line (isn't it great to be able to say that?)is doing so because they want to. That speaks volumes.

I don't know jack about the bike business, but all riders have brand/model preferences. Sales, service, and parts people are no different. Their level of professionalism dictates how much personal opinion they choose to share. IMHO that separated good HD/Buell dealers from the rest in the past (Battley is great; shame I live too far away).

All the same, I see EBR fitting best in a European bike shop or a big four dealership with a solid history. Not my choice to make, of course, and I'll be happy to see them anywhere (especially out on the road).

Just an aside: About a year ago I heard a Big Four service tech voice an unusual concern about picking up EBR. He thought some HD riders might mistakenly think an EBR dealer could service HDs. I didn't see this as even a remote possibility, but maybe there are some in this world who share his concern.

I can see that being a valid concern, seeing as how most big four dealers don't stock chrome duct tape so they'd have no parts to fix a HD.

It's all about the tech, of course. If the dealer keeps a talented tech around, the service will tend to be quite good. If they don't, you will get whatever crap they hire.

The other thing to look out for, in my opinion, is a tech that's also a racer. They will understand how to properly set up a bike, including the right chain slack, wheelbase, reasonable suspension starting points, and so on. For someone that's not used to configuring a motorcycle and listening to a rider and understanding what to adjust, this could be the entire difference between a good experience on a motorcycle and a bad one. They will service the motorcycle expecting the kind of wear it will receive, not just set it up "within allowable tolerances". It makes a BIG difference.

I've made the mistake of letting an otherwise very good mechanic who is NOT a racer (or race team mechanic) work on a race bike. It's a disaster of outcomes -- they just don't understand and have no exposure to what a sport rider needs.

Larry,
That's great news. I can imagine this might be a 2-stage process: they'll have an initial dealer network; then, if the bikes are as good as we all hope they'll be, they'll get another round of sign-ups as word spreads about the bikes.

Apparently they're starting to reach out to dealers now. They called my guy at All American KTM last week. I made a thread here to get him interested a while back...
Anyhow All American's owner wants to make sure he can move enough RC8's to justify bringing in another street line, as they're heavily invested in off road racing. Apparently when Trevor told her (EBR rep) that they're 50 miles from the San Diego dealer that put a damper on her enthusiasm.

Still, I think its kewl that EBR reached out to my online BFF's shop.

I hope they get one near DC, it's the most affluent area of the country right now, i can't believe we haven't already gotten one signed up yet. Not that I wanna drive into DC, but anywhere in Northern VA would be good. Def don't wanna have to drive to Philly.

EDIT- My bad, i should read the thread!

@Nik- Coleman's is terrible, Motorcycle factory is better in every way.... But Battley is great, always helped me with my Buell part needs, are already an EBR dealer and not that far away.

Yeah, I hate Coleman's but it's just the biggest dealer chain I could think of with a reasonable chance of landing EBR, as they carry Ducati, & I know Manassas Honda is too small. Haven't been to Motorcycle Factory yet.

Gaithersburg isn;t that far from me, I just hate the traffic, still, it's better than DC actual!

It is located in the old harley dealership

Wow- Looks like 6 dealers were added today. I've been keeping a map with dealers by state for a couple of weeks; I note the following additions:

+2 Florida
+1 Georgia
+1 Iowa (none in state previously)
+2 Nevada (none in state previously)

That makes 53 total if I didn't goof.

Finally a dealer on the I-4 corridor. 70 miles away, but still much closer than the others.

I sent them an E-mail, I am curious if they have a clue. They DID used to sell Buells, and I got some parts from them before.

Wow, a Dealer within an hour of me?

I've never heard of the one in Iowa (not that that's necessarily a bad thing). I guess I figured one of the "Buell friendly" HD dealers would pick up EBR.

They've got pretty good coverage of the US now. The only states without a dealer, or a dealer in an adjacent state are Montana and North Dakota. I'm sure it'd still be a LONG ride for some folks to get to a dealer, but I'll bet it's reasonably doable for anyone that really wants an EBR bike.

None in Oregon and the closest is nearly in Canada. The distance is roughly the equivalent of about three of your little eastern states. Maybe four.
I am glad that you folks have dealerships nearby. The way this list is expanding, it's just a matter of time. I do hope that the motorcycling potential for eastern Oregon and Washington is not overlooked as it is so often. There may be more dense population over on the wet sides of these states but the folks on the dry side ride much more.

In general, I'd say an HD dealer is a very bad fit for an EBR. Not to say there won't be a few that do it and do it well, but why bother swimming against the motor company current?

Lots of great non motor company dealers out there that will do a much better job and that won't have to overcome all the HD baggage (that are probably more a clientele expectation problem than a dealer problem, but the dealer is stuck lying in the bed they have made).

The big UJM dealers have their own customer attitude bed they must lie in as well, but it is much more aligned with EBR's bikes and likely customers.

panhead_dan I have talked to both of the former Buell dealers here in the Portland area neither of them will likely become EBR dealers. Latus is selling Triumphs and Paradise is going to settle into being a tipical H-D dealer. you are right the 2 Washington dealers are both north of Seattle. oh well I am at best a year away from a new bike purchase.

Geographically speaking, Tri-Cities Washington would be the right place. Stable economy, almost enough population (plenty when you factor in all the surrounding area of the east side of Washington and the northern/east half of Oregon) and year round riding weather. I can not think of an existing dealership that might be a good fit, however. I can think of one or two that would be a bad fit.

Oh well. While I would love to be able to go see and touch a new EBR without having to make it an overnight trip, I am not in the market for a sportbike. When they come out with the AX, it's possible that the pain will be felt then. Time will tell!

7 dealers in Florida only make sense in the fact that so many people in the surrounding states import there exotics from dealers there. Texas needs 3 more, 1 to service West Texas Elpaso area, 1 for the Victoria Corpus Area and one to service the the pan handle area.

Dealer list updated again: now 8 in Florida (+1), 5 in Texas (+1), 1 in Michigan (none previously) and 1 in Virginia (none previously). There's also a dealer in Iowa; I think I inadvertently left them off the map above.

I think that makes 56 dealers in total.

13 days since I sent an inquiry to my "local" EBR dealer. I got an "automated" E-Mail back a few minutes after I sent the original on 1/3/14 that promised a reply soon.

No reply yet. That is promising as hell. I may actually be more interested in the 250 Hero than an RX, but I inquired about the EBR, still, one would think I would get a response, or are they so busy sending bikes out the door, they can afford to dismiss a promising sales opportunity?

One data point is only one data point, but at this time it is 100% negative.

That KTM 390 looks more and more inviting.

Cool.

Dealers, for what it's worth, will have nothing but anecdotal information on the AX . . . . that'd be my guess.

Following the incident with the Blast in Arizona . . . giving dealers any advance information, beyond what they require for business purposes, is no wiser than asking journalists to look at an 90% developed model and provide "constructive input".

Goe Kawasaki/HD in Angleton TX is somewhat of a Buell focal point in south east Texas. Not only is the owner an avid Buell owner\rider, but they have a couple of crack techs and a lot of Buell owners who like to congregate at the shop. Kawis and EBRs in one building, HD in the other. Two race tracks within 15 miles of it helps to.

EBR is up to 59 dealers nation-wide by my count. I'd guess that's as least as many dealers as there were Buell dealers after the "unwilling" dealers dropped out in the early 2000's (?).

Hughlysses I don't think we are at much more than 1/3 at best. When they closed Buell down there were 3 in Oregon I think 6 in Washington and 1 or 2 in Idaho. So far we have 2 in the Seattle area. When they were trying to give the bikes away and had the listing of bikes I think there only a few states maybe under5? that didn't have a dealer. We may not see a lot more dealers until the other 2 models are released and we see how the Hero bikes are handled maybe this spring? for the Hero bikes.

When I talked to my local dealer in Bellevue WA, he indicated that carrying Hero was an option. It was one he was passing on at the time. Which I could understand in his case, his showroom isn't large, and its not really the demographic he sells to. His other two lines are MV Agusta, and Kawasaki. Cool thing is that his crew gets it, and are racers themselves.

I would guess adoption of carrying Hero would be better if the dealer could cherry pick, and not carry everything that they make.

I'd say it's certain that Hero won't try to import but just a few (if any) of the bikes they currently build to the US. Their current motorcycle range (outside of the new HX250R) are powered by licensed copies of ~20-30 year old Honda engines and are just generally "cheap transportation" vehicles.

I think we'll see the HX250R, the Leap hybrid scooter, and maybe a couple of other models, at least initially. Remember that whatever Hero imports to the US will have to jump all the DOT and EPA hurdles, which is an expensive process.

Not ever trying to be negative, (I'm a true Buell enthusiast), but just wondering from a technical matter if the noted dealers will have the ability to order "any" parts for the new EBR's and does anybody know if any be training tech people to work on EBR's. I have been very fortunate to have an 1125R that the only work I had done by a HD dealership was the clutch oil bushing to restrict flow to the clutch and they got the oil level all wrong when reassembling. Of four HD dealerships within 50 miles here none ever sent a tech for training and they were HD idiots on Buells. When I questioned them, why the oil level was so low (not showing on the stick), after the work, the tech manager asked if it was the oil tank or the primary.....Idiot. I added the proper amount and went on my way never to go back......ever.

Be mindful the Hero produced 6,075,583 motorcycles in the last year. Roughly about what Harley-Davidson does in 30 years.

Hero and EBR are not linked by any contractual agreements . . . a pure guess on my part. Hero is an investor in EBR but I'd be surprised if that investment commingled the brands beyond the naturally occurring synergy.

Hero has announced plans ton enter a number of new, outside India, markets. They spend something on the order of $250,000,000 a year on marketing. I'm betting they have a handle on the homologation issues.

It's going to be something and that little 250, if they hit the mark on price, could be a home run.

What a great year it's going to be . . .

@ Johnshore

This is a quote right off the dunbareurosport website:

"Get this: In a same day, same dyno test against a privately owned Ducati 1199 Panigale, the 419-pound 1190RX allegedly topped the Italian V-twin by one horsepower and made mincemeat of it in the midrange."

Having ridden both MV's F3 800 and Ducati's 899 EBR will do well to augment the lineup with smaller displacement machines. Though I wonder with 3 of the big 4 going with 300s, if the Hero 250 is not a bit of preparing to win the last war?

What's more important to me at this point is, when EBR 1190rx will be in each of these nearly 60 dealers. When they will have techs training? I find it odd that much of even the sport bike community is still unaware of the bike's release and amongst those who do know, how much bad information is still floating around.

I'm sure those bikes are rolling towards dealers now. As for when they get there, Im sure the first dealers to get signed up will be the first to see bikes.

I've talked with both Washington dealers. The guys an hour north of me say it will be summer before they see any. The dealer is Bellevue say anytime now. The Bellevue dealer is also filled with guys who race and track ride.

When I had a long conversation with the owner and a couple of employee's at the Bellevue dealer, they were very knowledgeable and cant wait for them to arrive. He had also been to the factory.

I know I plan on taking the demo for a ride.

It would make sense to ship to the states that aren't SNOWED in, but more so I think shipping at least one Demo to every dealer would allow the staffs to train up, and have a better chance to drive sales than first come first serve. My dealer says it will be 3rd week in Feb before they ship. Already 3rd trackday of the season and I need a new mount. Hate to say it but I'm really close to pulling the trigger on an 899 if there are too many more delays.

From a business perspective, that makes no sense at all. So a little back ground, I've spent around 16 years working in Auto dealers, I Have spent about half that in management. I've worked in Chevy/ Cadillac/ Pontiac/ Ford/ VW/ Audi/ Ferrari/ and GMC(part owner there) In all of them when a dealer places an order, you get a build date and an approximate ship date. It pretty much like ordering anything else. In the Auto world the way to get preference of limited models, or expedited builds is to have exceptionally high customer service satisfaction numbers. Even then that is limited.

So lets now consider a nice quirk for an EBR dealer, according to my local dealer. The dealer agreement in cancelable Unilaterally by the dealer. Meaning the dealer can just say, enough of this crap, and be out. EBR picks up unsold inventory and done.

So if you were a dealer, and you found out your inventory that you ordered, wasn't being sent to you because it was cold and possibly snowy, but was being sent to someone else who didn't get on board as soon as you, or ordered weeks after you how would that make you feel toward the factory?

Also who's not to say some of those first dealers don't already have their first orders sold, or at least a list of buyers?

Classax, you also have 6 dealers in your state, call around, I'll bet one of them will get them sooner. It's just a thought.

Besides, 3 more weeks to sit on one, isn't all that long.

Seeing as how the original projection was mid December and some dealers are saying mid April, (Mine is saying end of Feb.) and the fact that we are already well into the track day season here, makes every day seem all that long.

Court is this the way the shipments are going to be all year. Build a batch of bikes wait on the FIM to count then ship more. Seems like they could get a Notary Public to do the counting at the end of each day or week. Just give them a list must be a 1000 within a couple 100 miles.

Actually I thought the rules allowed for them to audit waybills/bills of laiding and or invoices instead the actual bikes. Technically if they are all held at the factory, then they are not "available to the public". That's just picking nits though.
I was under the impression that there was a hold up due to parts. In fact in the photo expose http://www.jsonline.com/business/new...241022261.h tml you can clearly see most of the machines in the photos were missing front rotors.

Court are you saying it will be easy to walk in and buy one or demand will be so high that only those of who have had deposits down for months will be allocated one or that you doubt it will be in the near future? Its hard to tell where you're placing your inflection, and thus inference, on that one.

Anybody who wants to be riding an EBR 1190RX this summer will be able to.

It's huge, personally, to me to see my friend, the one that so many folks laughed at when he was crying on the internet, in this position.

This has not been easy for the last 4 years. It's been, and continues to be, in many ways a huge risk.

Erik could have walked away and retired a wealthy and comfortable individual. He chose, after making certain that each and every displaced Buell employee was taken care of (there are some amazing stories there . . I truly hope you get to hear someday) to put everything . . . I don't mean most . . I mean EVERY FRICKIN' NICKEL . . on the line and bet on himself and his dream.

There have been times it looked iffy . . . 3 hour middle of the night "what if" phone calls. There were no less than 3 . . . "is it time to throw in the towel" talks . . . to anybody who knows Erik Buell it's just him, the way he lives and operates. To "civilians" (non-Elf beings) it'd be nearly impossible to either comprehend or understand.

It's really pretty cool and I could not be more pleased for all the amazing ELVES (yep, I'm the one they were going to fire for using that term to describe Buell employees) at ERIK BUELL RACING.

It's shaping up to be an amazing year . . . .

^^^^
I think there are a great many of us who want to see EBR succeed for may reasons.

As a human being it gives me great joy, inspiration, hope and determination to see a man educate himself, be passionate about his beliefs and risk it ALL in pursuit of what he believes to be the right way to do a thing, and in spite of crushing obstacles, doubt and even sabatage(I call it that) be on the verge of success! Its the kind of thing I share with my son, point to, and say "hey kid, if you apply yourself, that could be you some day."

As an American, a patriot and a former member of our armed services, It is impossible to express to you how much my convictions drive me to support this venture. In a time when these United States of America seem to be seen as no longer competitive, no longer exceptional no longer relevant in so many world industries, I desperately want to see American know how, innovation and most importantly American work ethic succeed. Not just succeed but with American products, built in America by American taxpayers who someday may actually be able to purchase and enjoy the very thing they have poured their life's labor into. To see that product on the world stage being as good as can be gotten along side the best the rest of the world has to offer, is important to my national pride, national economy, and national discourse on how my nation will choose to tackle tough issues in the future.

As a rider I want EBR to succeed because I believe Erik pursues the needs of the rider in his designs more than any other manufacture. He does not pursue big horse power blindly, or make up for poor mechanical geometry with electronic trickery. He designs bikes that regular racers can race and every day bikers can ride. Quite simply they are a BLAST! No pun intended. ( ok, slightly intended)

The reality is EBR will not succeed with admiration of the man or the dream alone, bikes have to be sold. Having lived through the xb era and missed the 1125 era I realize that unless the bikes sell something more than just a faces less start up will have died. The EBR story is bigger than just dollars and cents and quirky motorbikes. Its about more even, than an eccentric old man chasing his dreams with his team of uncharacteristically tall elves and their families. Its about a way of life that for many is slipping away. EBR's success would not only prove it can still be done, but it can still be done here, and done well, with integrity and pride, and compete with the rest of the best of the world. The main stream motorcycle press has never been kind to Buells, but we live in a day and age where the owners of these marvelous machines now have equal ability to influence the perception and thus reception of them in the market place. In order to do that we have to buy the bikes. I put my money where my mouth is with my deposit on day one. For me that happens to mean being without a REAL bike until the RX arrives. Pardon my impatience. Some might say it borders on unreasonable, but Erik of all people would understand, "progress is NOT made by reasonable men". I sure hope you aren't suggesting that we will have to wait until summer, because by then I had hoped to have broken it in, done more than a few track days, blogged, vlogged and hobnobbed enough for the world to know why it's worth every penney and ounce of sweat, blood and tears to earn, build, buy and ride the American dream again.
GO EBR

That's a fact.

As I observed, after reading some of the BMW boards, there was an entirely new breed of Buell fans that were born.

They were the folks who'd never owned a Buell in the past . . . had no interest in ever owning one in the future . . . but were ADAMANT supporters of Erik and were cheering him on with fervor.

In my opinion, both literally and figuratively, the Panigale and RX are much more similar than that. The customer who will/could/would buy an RX will likely be in the same demographics as one who could/would purchase a Panigale. From a price, and performance capabilities standpoint, they are definitely competing in the same market space for nearly the same customers. Hopefully EBR takes a lesson from Ducati and makes the purchase as much about the customer experience and lifestyle as about the actual bikes.

2 new ones in SoCal, Honda Kawasaki of Santa Monica and South Bay Triumph in Lomita, both within 12 miles from me. Woo Hoo!

It's kind of ironic that HK of SM is right across the street from Bartels' HD where I get great service for my Buells.

Looks like Glendale Harley Davidson dropped out.

South Bay Triumph was one of the early prospective dealers but later got dropped although they are now back in. I wonder if it has anything to do with me talking to Matt Capri, president of SBT, at the last Long Beach IMS when I asked him about carrying EBR? His remarks sounded kind of negative inferring Erik Buell might still have a tie-in back to the association with Harley Davidson. If that's the case then, EBR must have some pretty good sales people recruiting dealers.; )

Sparky I wonder how your guy from South Bay came to that conclusion just because Erik hasn't jumped onto the anti Harley-Davidson bandwagon badmouthing them when ever he had a chance. And I am sure he has had plenty of opportunity.

Or is it because Harley let him out of the non compete clause early and they seem to be civil to one another. The people inside of H-D know they could not have handled the shut down of Buell worse. Not all divorces end up as screaming matches in a court of law.

They originally where a custom bike maker who now sell Victory bikes and CF MOTO 4 wheelers. They have serviced my Uly for years and are great guys. They are in Mitchell just off interstate 90. Now, if spring will just get here..

Found this post on the Cycle World forum tonight (dated 10 March 2014). Anybody else heard anything like this?

quote:

Went by HD of Glendale today and learned Harley-Davidson has nixed their plans to distribute EBRs. H-D will only allow EBRs to be sold out of a separate facility and HD of G can't make that degree of $$$ commitment, so no EBRs. Too bad since that particular dealership was one of the few that embraced Buells more than half-heartedly.

I suspect lawyers are involved somehow.

Hugh, I went to the dealer page and followed links to all HD dealerships. Not one (that I could find) had any reference to EBR. There is at least one that had photos of the arrival of a RS on their facebook that doesn't now. On the other hand, some of the other dealers, with other brands don't have any EBR-related information either. Time will tell.

That is funny George Latus in Portland is selling Triumph's in a separate room (sort of) between the maine showroom and the service department. Definitely in the same building.

Hal's H-D was selling 1190 RS's on there main showroom floor. They had the race replica 1190 RS on a pretty nice display too. Haven't been there yet since the release of the RX but will try to stop in today to see what they are doing now.

Battley in MD is an EBR dealer. When I stopped in last fall, the guy said something about remodeling and they do have more than one building, so maybe HD is requiring some sort of separate facilities. If the weather keeps improving, I'll ride over next week.

I visited #127 at Hicklin Powersports (NW corner of Des Moines) last weekend. it had a "don't sit on me" sign on it : (. That didn't stop me from touching though.

I was really surprised at how similar it looked to the RSV4 it was adjacent to.

As of now there are 64 dealers in the US. They seem to be clustered in a few regional areas. But 10 in Florida? I wish we could see 1/4 of that in some of the empty areas of the country.

I haven't updated the map in a while, so here you go:

There does seem to be a significant void out west, but every state in the US either has at least one dealer or has a dealer in an adjacent state. Admittedly that's still a LONG drive/ride for some people, but it's a good start.

Went back the next day and talked to them some. Talked to two separate sales staff. They actually know about the bike, have ridden it and are excited about it. They are figuring ways to introduce the bike into the sportbike market there as it is somewhat small and there aren't a lot of events in that part of Louisiana. If you all are in the neighborhood, stop by and meet them.

There's some membership overlap between the 2 groups, but I believe there are several owners there who aren't on Badweb.

I do have a login there, but hardly ever use it as Badweb is where I go for my multiple times daily Buell & EBR fix.

I just checked, without logging in, and I was able to navigate anywhere I wanted to.

There is definitely some overlap,

Somebody in SoCal bought the yellow RX at South Bay Triumph. OK, fess up. Which one of you hooligans is it?

Byron S., Sales Specialist for EBR out of Triumph Performance USA, which is, I gather, a different department at the South Bay Triumph store, called me to say that they still have 3 white SXs and 1 Laguna Blue SX for me to ogle and take a test drive on. Boy, am I tempted to do that before going in for thumb surgery next week which will put the thumb in a cast for about a month.

Incidentally, if anybody is lusting for an 1190 RX, they can get one in a week. Just saying...

Haven't checked it out yet but the wife informed me today that she went to RIVA in Pompano Beach FL. to buy me a new 1190 for an early Christmas present. They told her they were no longer a dealer and the closest one is in Daytona 250 miles away. Said they couldn't sell them because of the price compared to the Yam, Honda and Suzuki they also sell.
