This was a very good article. Wow, some big ideas floating around that company. Could really become a mover and a shaker, if done right.
HERO is a pretty cool name and logo. Very positive, I would think. With the right products, the right price, they could become a power, and move right ahead of anything Chinese, or from India, in the Market Place, and be right up there with the Japanese. Watch out Harley, Victory, and Indian....

>>>and move right ahead of anything Chines

HERO currently builds more motorcycles than the Chinese.

That was the really shocking part of that article to me Court. It never occurred to me that the Indian motorcycle was bigger than the Chinese market. Makes sense though.

It really puts the hero partnership in perspective... looks like EBR upgraded from HD in just about every possible way. I'm glad EBR and Hero are both classy enough to not say as much, but it seems pretty obvious to me.

To really understand the possible trajectory of where this is going to need to think "200 year plan" and read, re-read the article carefully about the background of Pawan and his Father Dr. Munjal, up on the history of HERO and understand their strengths, weaknesses and cultural values.

The folks who impute a "that's not the way we do it in Des Moines" or "I'm not being any cheap Indian crap" mentality will miss something amazing.

Court, Rex here. My thoughts about HERO compared to the Chinese product, was quality. I think they are way ahead of them in quaility. Metals, etc. don't you agree? REX

The Chinese have such a poor reputation in cars and bikes that I'd sooner compare Hero to Korean mfrs...

Well. . . .the Korean made Ibanez guitars were some of the best.

I say we judge them based on THEIR performance.

I've met Mr. Munjal and a number of his folks. I'd wager that's all they'd ask.
