Seems like an odd time to do the test since the 1190RX should be available any time now, but it's a good article:

(article starts on page 132)

The article includes a side bar interview with Erik, with some info on the development of both the RS and the RX. Good read.

That's a great find, nice to see the guy say how outstanding the fueling was. Also how well the braking worked.

I'm gonna just make a guess and say I think we are going to have an outstanding line of new bikes.

Great find. I think the RX is one of the most anticipated bikes in a long time. The fact that there has been no official track launch, for the press and a virtual information blackout since its debut, leaves us comparing it to the RS, which the company claims it will out perform. I too am curious about why it is gear so tall, but I love the idea of a liter bike that lends itself well to keeping corner speed up instead of point and shoot style riding.

I watched several youtubes of the rs and wondered the same about the gearing. Seems like there isn't a lot of shifting going on in the vids. Maybe it is just me I dunno.

Long straights and top end. That being said, on the street, other than cruising along, 5th and 6th are pretty unecessary. The tall gears don't gut the power though. It is a rocket.
