I pick up my 'new to me' XB12SST in Manchester in late June and have 5 days to get it to Greenville, SC. I will do the Blue Ridge Parkway from VA down but what's you'alls choice routes thru the northern part of the trip? roads that I shouldn't miss but still get me south in a reasonable fashion. I HATE freeways, d'uh! I am pretty new to this area but quite familiar with the BRP/WNC area.

TIA
steve

For routes, and I know nobody likes interstate, but I-81 to I-77 is pretty nice for interstate. I start at Fancy Gap and ride south on BRP. You can take 181 from Jonas Ridge down through Shelby, or 221 or 226 south (twisty), If you want you can find Rosman and take 178 south (very twisty) to Sunset and go to Bob's Place (they have a FB page and it's a Greenville area biker hangout much like the Rock Store on the PCH). There is also "The Whip" route 80 off the parkway south (very twisty). Hope some of this helps.
Andy
