IT's got a Shovelhead Big Twin top end on a Sportster bottom. It made for quite a powerhouse back in the '70s. |

Thanks for posting those . I've got a friend that has a Rigid 75 Sporty that he wants to do that to. If it says anything about how to do it on the back can you post it? |

M1, you had to buy the parts from Trock. I think(but I'm not positive) that the kit included cylinders and pistons. A friend of mine has a small repair shop, and they did a couple way back when. I don't even think Trock is still in business any more. Next time I'm over at the shop, I'll ask him about it. |

Thank you. I haven't done any research myself on the shovster concept so I may be able to find whatever info I need. Another one of his projects is to change the V angle by milling the front of the case. I think he said he's looking to go to 50 degrees. I suppose as long as the conrod doesn't mash the front of the case it should work. Theoreticaly this should allow larger pistons somehow... I haven't taken a look at it myself... |

the back side says that trock cycle specialties will do any welding and\or machining required to make the engine components assemble correctly for your convenience. only under these conditions can we guarantee a trouble free assembly in your shop with no other modifications. they then request you supply them with rocker boxes and cylinder heads and a set of 1000 cc sportster cases (1972 and later). they will check and inspect all components. let you know before proceeding with any repairs. modify pushrod tube sockets and oil passages in the rocker boxes. supply you with proper length pushrods and adapters. contour mill cylinder head fins for proper pushrod tube clearance and appearance. bore cases to accept "shovster" cylinders. add connecting rod clearance when necessary for stroked flywheels. make the "shovster" cylinders to comply with the bore and stroke combo required. supply the necessary super strong bolts, both head and base. fit and assemble all components to insure construction integrity. they don't have a price list on the sheet.i guess they were making their own cylinders. that will be the stumbling block to doing this now. TROCK CYCLE SPECIALITIES INC. 9540 berwyn rosemont, illinois 60018 312-678-3500 i think i'll call and see if the number is still good. |
