I was at F&S down in Dayton today (to buy a hat) and noticed they had a couple of 2008 1125Rs for less than $8000.00! So if ya want one go get it!

Hell if I could I sure would.

At that price, they will be out of the Buell business before the 2011 models come out.

Well since we all know from a reliable source that 70% of Buell dealers will be closing within the next few months this is no surprise. If Buell took a page out of BMW's book and built bikes that people actually wanted, you wouldn't be able to find a 2 year old bike thats been rotting in the showroom. : )

I'm seeing the prices of the 2008 1125R dropping like a rock! Why is that? I think they are a great looking motorcycle. Did the dealers just over-buy or something?

Ok maybe not 2010, but its in the future. If I beg enough he will do it. Then the hard part is figuring out where to put it in my garage : D

I go to that dealer pretty regularly. Bought my X1 off their floor (used). I don't know if they would drop the buell brand or not honestly. A couple of the salesmen are pretty enthusiastic about the brand and they are the largest dealer around (within 50 miles or so) The next big one is Aces and Eights but they don't seem to have as much love for buell as F&S does. I think the reason these are still around is that it is still not a well known bike. I mean the majority of the people that go to F&S are looking for a Harley. The majority of people looking for a sportbike go to Competition Accessories around here.

Dealer up here had 2 08 1125R's at 8999. Not sure why they sit on the other models but discount the R's so much. They had all the recalls done on them already plus an update to make them like the 09's? I didn't ask him to elaborate because I frankly am not interested in them anyway.

Once you get all the recalls and updates done, the biggest difference between 08 and 09 is the paint. There are a few minor differences including the race spools, higher output stator, and a slightly different gauge cluster.

He did mention the stator was upgraded to 09. Good deals for someone looking for one.
