About a week ago my bike started to blow the fan fuse. I checked the code as it was throwing a check motor light at me and it came back as #36, fan. I called the shop and they ordered a fan sight unseen and I was over today and they changed it. Problem solved no more blown fuses.

BUT The service writer came to see me, never a good thing you know, it seem I have a rear rocker box leak. so I have to get it back over to them next week to get THAT done. All this is under warranty so no cost. Other than I have no way to get the bike to them and then me home (25 miles, no bus, cab or train) So I'm going to pay them to pick it up and I get a ride after work to get it and Thursday.

So far the Buell have been solid as a rock and I bet the rocker box leaking oil all over the fan did the fan in BUT I just hope it's not going to change on me to a problem child.

The only other problem is it do eat rear tire up! Think it could have anything to do with that twisty thing on the right end of the handlebar getting turned REAL hard?

You shouldn't have to pay a dime for them to come and get you!

Look at it this way, the dealership could have turned a blind eye to the leak and let the warranty expire then charge you to fix it.

+1 for the dealer

What would the benefit be for a dealer to do such a rotten thing...It's not like the warranty is coming out of their pocket...Buell pays for it all!!!

Warranty work pays nowhere near as much as customer paid work.

Guys I don't mind paying them to pick the bike up, after all pick up and drop off service is NOT part of a warranty job is it? Besides I just moved here and really don't know anyone and I'd have the rent a car to get home so paying them to pick it up saves me a lot of trouble.

As far as them turning a blind eye, nope I get the feeling that the Guys at Gover H-D are on the up and up. In fact the owner had on a Buell hoodie yesterday. They did a good job and I will go back for parts and service and if the 1125st comes out I'll be 1st in line

What I'm worry about it the old chain of events starting up here well this failed and that cause this to go bad and when that happen that broke....

My 2008 popped its rear rocker gasket too.
Fan is still OK though.
This happened at 11,000 or so just for comparison sake, how long did your gasket last?

Well, just over 11,000 miles! Kinda of strange that.
