Considered it last year and tried to get good money for it, but Buell owners and wannabe owners are CSOB's and we seem destined to flat values... The difference this year is that I am looking at cheaper bikes, so I really just want to know what you guys think it can really go for. 1999 Buell S3 Triple Black About 28k, same owner since 2005 Front End: SKF wheel bearings SKF steering head bearings Racetech Gold Valve Emulator Racetech progressive springs New sliders and seals Updated factory rotor EBC sintered HH pads PAZZO shorty brake and clutch levers Motion Pro braided sheath clutch and throttle cables Buell traction handgrips Engine: NRHS 1250 kit with polished fins Heads are not ported, but the combustion chambers and port castings were cleaned up, fins polished Andrews N6 cams, new lifters Late model rotating pin upgrade Drag specialties timing sensor Squish band set Hammer billet pushrod tube bases with viton seals FI injector o-rings replaced with Viton o-rings About 4k on the above mods Oil pump gear upgrade Primary shoe upgrade Aluminum catch can ARP polished SS cover bolts on both the primary cover and gear cover ARP grade 8 polished SS exhaust studs and nuts Polished rocker covers, exhaust, boomerang, pulley support Real Buell CF ham can and K&N filter Lightweight CF Borla exhaust Race ECM ECMspy USB dongle Bluetooth ECMspy dongle Always M1 V-twin or Amsoil V-twin oil Electronics: Relay in starter circuit to take load off of ignition switch HID headlight Rizoma LED turn signals (expensive and awesome) LED tail light bulbs Chassis/rear suspension: Penske rear shock Polished swingarm SKF swingarm bearings Cut and polished rear pulley ARP grade 8 polished SS pulley bolts New Continental Road Attack tires last July (180 – 120) Polished factory option PM wheels SKF wheel bearings XB drive belt Genuine Buell CF hugger Corbin seat with passenger backrest Original and second factory seat Rizoma billet rear brake reservoir EBC HH sintered pads Billet gas tank/cap mechanism Rear isolators have been replaced Custom fitted bike cover

Beautiful bike. I dunno, probably $2750-3500. That might sound like ridiculous lowballing but the problem is there are so many nice used bikes out there for not a whole lot of money. The last two bikes I recently purchased had been up for sale for an entire year by the owners. I was the only serious inquiry and they were hardly piles of junk although one was well on its way. |

cheap sons of bitches? Nice 914 by the way. The S3 too. Good luck selling it! I too do not really understand the lack of appreciation for Buell in the States, but yeah, selling one can be though. Maybe all the enthusiasts own one or multiple already. |

The 914 crowd is that way too (including me I guess), but that is changing, I thought it would at some point with Buells too, but no such luck. I really love this bike, but am ready to move on, seriously considering a Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe. If anybody reading this is interested in the S3, don't be afraid to make an offer. Scott |

If I wasn't flat broke due to buying a few too many Triumphs I'd be contacting you. New owner should be very happy with what you've got there. |

It was great fun riding alongside that S3. As you know I am in the same boat. I don't know where to advertise but am thinking Craigslist |

Tubeframe Owners Group on Facebook is very active. Saw Scott’s for sale on there and I sold my S3 via Facebook. |

Greg, these bikes deserve somebody who wants and understands Buell - not likely on Craigslist, plus all the idiots... Try the FaceBook groups. I came down a bit for a quick sale, but it has otherwise been easy. |

Hey! I bought my S3T on craigslist, got a good deal AND I want and understand Buells. Not everyone looking at craigslist is looking for a free washer... |

Good question It was sad watching her pull away in the back of a truck, but also a relief The new owner is happy with his purchase which also makes me proud and happy New bike shopping hasn't been as fun as I thought it would be because of all the BS they try to pull At the end of it all I think I did the right thing at the right time for the right reasons I know I will be happy once the weather improves and I'm tooling around on a new bike, but I will always have a nostalgic feeling when I see a Buell |

That's what a buddy at work bought, it's a really nice bike and appears to be really well made. Surprisingly small and light, especially compared to the old Z1. Maybe buy an old Buell sometime down the road to bomb around on every once in a while. The first bump will remind you that time marches on! |

Actually with the good valve emulator and resprung front end along with the Penske shock out back the old S3 road was better than you think if you have not ridden a Buell so equipped. Yeah , who knows, an M2 down the road would be nice..... |

What I am looking forward to is two finger clutch and brake and not having a screaming hot jug between my legs in the summer! |

Yep, that's what my buddy bought, too. He said it's the only bike he owns where he's not going to change anything on it. It just looks really well made and they put a lot of thought into it. I was offered a test ride but it only had 30 miles on it and rush hour city traffic so maybe later. Have fun with it! |
