Maiden, I think the factory one was round. More of a rubber than vinyl though.

Yup, I assumed the original ones were round too, I just mentioned the shape because if someone tries to order something online to work, they'll need to be able to measure their square peg mounts, and convert the measurement to the diameter of a circle so they know what size round covers will wedge onto the square mounts.

I'm not very mathematically inclined, but for anyone trying to sort it out, you should just be able to measure the length and width of the peg mounts, add them, multiply it by 2, and divide that by 3.14. That'll get you the size that'll fit, keeping in mind you want it on the snug side so it doesn't just fall off.

(L+W+L+W)/3.14=Size you need

Another interesting idea if you just want to put those brackets to use... this guy put some spools on his. Don't assume you'll find a paddock stand that would reach them, and I assume they're too small to feel stable on car jacks. Maybe he made a special stand to use with them. They could also work for bungee cord hooks. They look pretty clean on there regardless.

Mike: the peg mounts should be arriving today. Sounds like they would've been there yesterday had the post office not been closed for the day.

Double checked this morning, the mounts are 3/4" x 7/8", which gives a diameter of 1.035". Don't know that the 1" would hold tight enough, I'd try to find some 15/16" rubber caps, or maybe a 7/8" would stretch enough.
