I have begun operation on my rocker box cover gaskets, upper and lower. The rear has gone smoothly and I don't foresee any problems getting that end done, but.... All YouTube tutorials cover the "rear" gaskets on HD Sportys and they have been very helpful. My front gaskets are leaking too. I have the front top cover off, but now I'm seeing that there are clearance issues because of the forward Isolater mount and maybe even the frame. Something to keep in mind. My rear isolaters are completely shot and I had planned to replace them while I got it tore apart. I'm looking for guidance and suggestions on the best way to go about making these repairs. The manual I have is about useless except for the torque specs. I have the unofficial cheater Star instructions for replacing Buell isolators. I know someone has been here before and will have learned a lot. Love my Buell more and more and can't wait to get another. Thanks | ||

Well removing the coil and horn were the best tips I could come up with. It was not to hard. I decided to hold off on the rear isolaters. Im waiting on the battery to charge so I can start it up. It's totally doable with out removing much. The worst part was cleaning the surfaces. I saw some corrosion and saw where the leaks where. So many of the bolts were loose. One was missing on the rear cover. Definitely use threadlocker even though the manual doesn't say to. I think this was Harley trying to insure the would have repairs to do. My bike only has 20,000 on the clock and it was always serviced at VA beach Harley Davidson before I bought it from my late friends estate. He loved that bike even though he had a nasty wreck once. the scott free method (google it) for the rear isolators made it a breeze. highly recommend. here are a few pics https://www.flickr.com/photos/cittanuovachefgee/ I got all the pieces at home depot for about $16 and the job was about 3 hours, and I am slow. | ||

There's a Harley specialty tool for the bolts on the rocker covers, its just a thin, ratcheting, allen wrench, but it was extremely helpful. I couldn't get to the front head front bolts without it. Pretty much only used it for those, as I recall. They're fairly cheap for a HD tool, you can find them on eBay and lot of other places. | ||
