Sorry folks- I feel like I am bombarding this forum with questions in the past few days since getting my 1999 S3.

Anyway- the grips were toast so I ordered new ones from Biltwell. I was surprised to see that it uses 7/8" and not the typical 1" harley.

In fact, when I removed the right hand controls and the throttle tube, I noticed that it looks almost identical to my Kawasaki ZRX1100. Is it possible they are the same units?

On to my question- my throttle tube is cracked and I need a new one. DOes anyone know of a replacement? Will the standard 7/8" universal Kawasaki/ honda/ yamaha throttle tube from Motion Pro work?

Not sure if this will help or not...

not really sure that helps. I think that is for the grip. I need the plastic throttle tube.

Not to mention most "harley" grips are 1" and my Buell S3 is 7/8, so I am guessing that link is the wrong size anyway

Mine came as one piece, but it's for an S1, and that is the part number for an S1 (may cross with a HD). Hence the not sure if this will help.

gotcha. I may revisit that part number from you then. Tomorrow I am heading to the local salvage yard in milwaukee to see what they may have laying around.

S1 was 7/8" bars.

The only production Buells with 1" bars were S2. All other tubers, XBs, and 1125s are 7/8". Easy spot? If one turn signal button is on the left hand, and one turn signal button is on the right hand...1". If it's the "euro" design left-hand, goes-both-ways turn signal switch? 7/8".

And yes, as far as I remember, the grip contains the throttle tube and the fittings for the throttle cable ends.

I'm fairly sure there's one buried in my garage if your search comes up empty. Lemme know.

went to milwaukee cycle salvage today and dug through three giant boxes of used throttle tubes. and I'll be damned if I didn't find the exact throttle tube that I needed for $5

Ratbuell... Don't forget about the pre S2 Buells unless you don't consider them production.
