Found this poor little guy on CL and an offer with trade was made and the PO even delivered the bike. It worked out great because my wife was out of town so she didn't even notice another bike in the garage.
I believe this is a picture of my bike a few years ago. Notice the shifter, and steering damper.

Here is how it sits now.

Looks like the wide seat was changed to the narrow seat.

Basically I hate the handle bars and I'm going to rip off the clip-ons and go back to the stock bars.
The shifter is very vague and hard to know if I'm in gear or even if I shifted at all.
Should I go to the Banke shifter or back to stock.
I'd like to find some better body work, the parts on there now are pretty scratched up.

Also looks like I have a WP rear shock. There is some rash on the preload adjuster.

Also the bike backfires from the carb so it looks like I'm doing intake seals soon.

Looks like he just cut the seat down and it looks pretty uncomfortable.
Good bike
Banke is pretty hard to find
Yhose bars are worth 120-150 they are wide tuber crossroads bars

Love my 01M2. Not sure what shifter and brake that is but a banke will cost some $$
There was a post on here about new shift and breaks but nothing new in a month or so .

I have a wide tail and seat in great shape if you want to trade . I'm looking at Renthal bars to swap out my stock .

Yeah, I'd really rather have had an S2T but this was cheap and the stars aligned so I pulled the trigger.
Thought it might be a good primer to learn on till I find an S2 for a good price.
The bones seem pretty good, does not seem to leak oil as bad as my step sons sportster. He needs oil tank lines bad.
I've got about $1K into it.

One more stupid question, I found the PO that posted the photo in a post about shifters. I sent him a Private Message but how do I access my messages?
I've been through the whole web site and can't find where my sent or received messages are.

PMs are very iffy. Many email servers reject them as spam.

That is not a WP shock. Works?

Looks like the front forks have been lowered internally or swapped for M2L.

Somebody shaved the seat and recovered it.

Smoking deal for you.

Oh! I forgot to mention it came with a spare untitled frame and swing arm and swing arm mount.

Yes the shock says Works, can I buy just the adjuster?

Mtjm2, yes shoot me an email if you want to trade.

Well it appears there is an issue with the forks. They seem to have no spring at all.
This will have to wait till I get my multi up and running.

Worksperformance.com will cover anything you need.

As far as the forks are concerned, they're simple conventional forks, pop 'em apart and fix 'em.

That's surprising that someone would spend so much on a rear shock, then just let the front ones get in such bad shape.

Nice looking bike. The Banke stuff is really nice, but spend a little time trying to adjust your clutch cable, primary chain, and everything first. That stuff looks homemade(you said you already found a post from the PO about them? I'd be interested in seeing it, I've wanted to try making some someday too), so who knows how smooth and efficient they are, but I doubt they can be any worse than the original boomerang shifters.

Otherwise, great looking bike. It came with a D&D though, so even if you were able to sneak it into your garage without your wife noticing, don't expect to ride it out of your driveway without her realizing that it's something new haha. It's going to be anything but subtle.

Searching for M2 shifter and it's first on the page,
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/461661.html?1245778179

And looking at the grud that's on the upper fork legs ,it probably has leaking seals so almost all oil is gone.

Dino,
I have a stock M2 shifter (updated version) & brake pedal, if you are interested in a trade.

I also have a few sets of handle bars if you're looking.
