Okay I have two hopefully quick questions. So far this new bike has been love hate. I love the bike I hate trying to find parts. Anyway does the glass come off of the stock light to replace with different bulbs?!?! I don't want to pry it off and break it if it doesn't. Second what is the part called that goes up and over my air filter? I've seen many people with stainless braided lines which is love to order as the set up from the previous owner is blowing oil out of the smaller filter to the left (see picture)... Thank you

You need to buy a parts manual. It has part numbers that makes finding parts easier and better pictures than the service manual. You need both to keep the bike alive. Anyway the bulb comes out the back. You seperate the back she'll from the front by removing the two or three screws on the sides just behind the bezel ring. Then unplug wire, peel off rubber boot and you'll then see how the bulb goes in.

The filter thing is not stock. It's either a filter for the rocker cover breather that is normally a hose dumped back into the intake, or its a transmission overflow/breather filter. Probably the first one. The filter is usually part of a catch can assembly. Each cylinder has a breather bolt that has a hose connecting the two with a tee that has a single hose going to a catch can or straight to the filter. It's normal to have a small mist of oil/water coming out but if it's more than a vapor you can't actually see then you may have too much oil in your tank. Must check oil level when engine is fully up to operating temperature. Oil level should be just touching the bottom 1/4 of the dip stick for most M2's. Or you could have worn out butterfly valves inside the rocker covers. If that is a catch can you have to drain it every other gas fillup.

Please tell me there is a carb support bracket on there!

It's hard to tell from the pic, but I almost think it's not in place. It wouldn't be the first time the carb support bracket wasn't reinstalled during a Forcewinder installation.

Without a carb support bracket, the only thing holding the carb on is the stiction of the carb into the intake seal. OK, the VOES rubber line as well... Throttle cables could be considered a 'safety'. If the bike backfires and carb pops off, at least the throttle cables will limit how far the carb can be displaced from the engine.

Thanks for the replies. I do believe it may have been a little full from the previous owner it seems to have calmed down a bit on spewing oil. I'm also going to rerun the hoses and put some kind of catch on it. Also thank you for getting on your soapbox 1313 I just checked and no it looks like they removed the bracket and never put it back on.

Looks like a breather on a catch can when I zoom way in. Find the drain hose from the bottom of that and drain the catch container... it's hard to see but there appear to be worm type hose clamps securing a can crammed in between the frame and engine.
Make sure you route downward/downhill if you reroute all that, gravity is your friend.

I wouldn't ride my bike if the carb was not secured to the motor. These things SHAKE. I'm startled by how many bikes have been left without the support bracket over the years, we see pics like that here from time to time.

New post for my overall post count... cannot see a catch can after all, hose clamp is just securing the vent... I wonder if the prev. owner was just using an extended loop of hose and draining it occasionally rather than buying a catch can? I've heard of that as a cheap alternative to a catch can.

Pegasus Racing catalog used to be a great source for a small aluminum can kit. I've seen similar on amazon, both sources sell for less than $35.
