So I am being handed my father's buell due to his health issues, he wants me to sell it, I so badly want to keep it, but being an m2 cyclone I could never dream of riding it and would only garage maintain it. Anyone interested in helping me...if I keep it will it gain value, and how much should I ask to sell it?

"never dream of riding it" ?? Really the most value it has is in the riding of it.
Not likely to increase in value within the next 30 to 40 years.
These run anywhere from $1800 to $4500 depending on the bike (accessories/condition,) where sold, and how long you are willing to wait.

The only reason to sell that thing, would be if you were looking to get the money to buy an S1. I vote keep it, it'll be a family heirloom. I don't even like Harley's, but my dad has a sportster and I assume someday when he wants to sell it I'll offer to buy it, or just keep it if he still owns it when he passes. He's had that thing as long as I can remember.

Either way, post up some pictures and information on it and people can give you a better idea. Prices on these bikes seem to be all over the place.

will it gain value

The more you spend on it the more you will lose.

Take some pictures of it with your father perched in the saddle and sell it.

Hi Tara, The regrets most people have aren't for things they've done, but for things they didn't do. Ask yourself what you think you'll regret more....selling it (which most likely you cannot reverse), or keeping something that always put a smile on your dad's face. I, like Jolly, am curious why you said you would never ride what you so strongly wish to keep. Jayvee also speaks true...the joy is in the riding of it. And in your case may offer you a glimpse of the world through your dad's eyes. Just my 2 pennies...

On the other hand, selling it even for a low price, for example $2000, is still $2000 that you didn't have before. Can't argue with free money!
And possibly even for double that, just depending...
