Ok, so,...
Im lucky enough to have just gotten an M2 to keep my S1 Company. Fire it up, and after two minutes it blows the oil filler/dip plug out.
I never saw this before. Whats up with this?

Check the breather setup, make sure it's vented and not clogged.

And that the PO didn't overfill the oil tank.

Thanks,
I checked the oil tank for overfill, and it wasnt. I didnt have time to fuzt around with it too much. Tomorrow i'll look at the breather set-up. As far as i know it should just blow into the air filter right? I didnt see a catch can and it's pretty stock.

Make sure you run the bike,or motor for about ten minutes before you go to check it. A lot of oil bleeds back into the motor over night.

Yeah,
I ran it long enough for it to warm up, about 5-7 minutes.
Thats when the plug blew and i measured the level then and it was about a 1/4" over the lowest line. So i thought it looked good.

It should be ok for testing purposes to take about 1/2" of that oil out and try again. You have to find your bikes oil level. I've heard of peoples M2's that are over filled if the oil touches the stick. Mine is full if the oil touches the stick by 1/8". Any more is too much. I have run it 1/2" below without any signs of oil starvation. When it is too low you'll hear extra valve and rocker noise. For mine that level is about 1 1/2" below the dip stick bottom.

Ok,...
So, i spent some time on pulling the breather filter which looked bad but after a kerosene soak looked great. No effect. Then i played with oil level. If i warmed it up, then i carefully used a turkey baster to lower the oil level in the tank. If i lower it to an 1/8th" over the bottom line. it stops blowing the plug. so,...there you go.
Ive got issue, carb related and i'll post that separately. thanks you guys.

Often the root cause of the cap blowing out is that the vent line (cam cover to oil tank) is blocked. Overfilling or even the recommended level could cause the vent line fitting (in the oil tank) to be submerged when leaned and parked on the sidestand.
An improperly routed ventline can cause the vent line To temporarily trap oil (like a p-trap) which over-pressurizes the tank - blowing the cap. Usually lowering the level and/or re-routing the vent line to remove any dips (that could create the p-trap effect)
resolves the problem.
