And while I have got you all here.. I am also leaking primary fluid out of my clutch cable through a small crack in the cable housing towards the end of the cable.. is this cable supposed to be a wet cable (lubed continuously through the primary? and it is only leaking because of the crack, or is there a failed seal that is allowing fluid into the housing and THEN is it leaking through the crack??

Either way I am replacing the cable I guess..... But if the cable IS supposed to be lubed from the primary I may heat shrink the cable housing and not replace it..money is tight for a college student..

i am sorry about all the misfortunes....

On the clutch cable: there is an O-ring around the cable as it threads into the primary cover. see if that is in good shape and the cable end is fully screwed in. if still leaks, then need to take care of the crack.

The cable is a wet cable. Check your vent hose to make sure it is clear - my M2 had a clogged vent and was building pressure, forcing fluid out the clutch cable. Cleared the vent, no more leak.

If you do have a crack...yep, that's your source. Lotsa tape...or a new cable.

Got the same issue with the clutch cable. I actually heard it or felt it crack when i moved the cable, I think I was installing my res for the penske at the time and hardly moved the cable, I guess it is to be expected after 15 years. Can anyone help us out with recommendations for good cables, braided or otherwise.
Way to go Phaedrus, you smash that lymphoma buddy. Great to hear it's in remission, we have a family history of it and my uncle is struggling at the moment, can't wait to tell him that you are kickin' it. I will be praying for your recovery so that you can get plenty of buellin' done once you sort the glitches and break her right in.

i use Redline in engine too, but its pricey here in Australia. but it definitely works.

that GE light is a BIG step forward

looks to be plug-&-play [or close]

how does the illumination from an LED like this GE compare against an HID costing about the same $$ ?

@Firstbuell: if you look at the beginning of the thread which has been archived (just click on the link), you can see a comparison of the same light (made by TruckLite) vs Halogen.

I run the TruckLite, which seems exactly same and very happy. the amount of light is enormous

Hey there, I left some of you hanging last time I was online.

Got the bike back together, have been riding her everyday for a a few months now, replaced the whole clutch cable.

For those of you waiting for the TruckLite 7 inch round LED review.. I love the damn thing.. its amazingly bright just on low beam. I have tried to upload pictures on here but the forum tells me that my image is to large and once i get is scaled down to the point that it will accept the image it is the size of my thumb nail, any info on this? If it can figure it out I will toss a picture up.

I have a trucklite on my Harley for about a year. I drive at night a lot on county highways and love it. I love it so much will probably buy one for the Buell. Only took 5 minutes to install on the Harley. Looking at the Buell should only take a few more due to the springs holding the trim on.

Are there any reliability issues with these due to the vibration?

Should not be. Inherently, LEDs are more robust against vibration than incandescent lights since LEDs are electronic components. So if everything inside the light is well soldered and screwed down, it should be able to take tremendous mechanical shock.

I have not had any problems with it after ~4K miles

I know this is definitely digging this thread up from the grave ... BUT ... Somebody posted up an issue with this light not fitting in an S1/X1 headlight bucket ... is this true ? .. Because I'm pretty sure that's either an S1 or an X1 I'm looking at right there ...

In response to Negative's question, that is a pic of an M2. He has upside down forks mounted on it. I was the one who had fitment issues on an S1. I had to buy an M2 bucket to make it fit. Not sure if an X1 bucket would work but the S1 bucket is just a tad too big.

I have a question of my own. Do any of you guys with the trucklite lamp have issues with vibration? I had a bad vibration when I first installed it but realized I missed a tab for the mounting ring. Took care of that and was way more solid but now it still vibrates pretty bad. Enough to concern me anyway and scratch up the housing of the lamp against the mounting ring. I think it's because of the heft of the trucklite. It is quite a bit heavier then the standard unit. Was going to use some heat resistant spray foam to fill the void between the lamp and bucket if I don't find anything wrong with the way I have it mounted.
