I have a Force race pipe for my 00 X1 and I have not used it in about 5 years. As I recall, it was giving me fits back then.

The problem I am having is where the headers meet the heads. The ends are pretty thick and I can not get the clamps over the studs far enough to get a nut started on it. I am using the thinner screamin' eagle gaskets.

Not sure what else I can do. I thought of backing out the the studs, but I think that will lead to more trouble than its worth. Perhaps longer studs are available somewhere?

Any tips, tricks, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Bumping this up since there have been a couple threads recently about the Force pipes. Thought it might be useful if someone in the know were to respond...

I believe with with the Force Exhaust you need to use the flat style exhaust port gaskets and not the tapered ones.

Already using the flat gaskets. I've read a few posts where some bikes shipped with 5/8 studs and other shipped with 7/8 studs. I am not sure if that rumor is true but I obviously got short studded (hehehe).

I read another post where a bloke took out his 5/8 studs and stuck a steel ball bearing in the hole and reseated the stud. It effectively pushed his studs out to 7/8". I would consider doing this, but I am planning on pulling the heads to get valve work done and my machinist told me he would put in longer studs for free.

I replaced my studs with stainless steel studs from Alloyboltz. I'm not sure if they're longer but they have a rounded end which makes the flange a lot easier to slip on. I also have the Force Race Pipe on my 02 X1W.
