Stepping backward? Nah, not really.

As it is, a tuber makes for a much better starting point. Less weight and more performance right off the bat.

That's why you start with a Buell over a Sporty!

the exhaust folly and twin shocks do indeed take it a step backward in tech and make it sportsterish buell

Anybody else notice the twin discs & nissin calipers with adaptor plates.

Do you reckon he bought a box of bits & built a bike with what he had lying around the garage?

Looks pretty good to me, going a bit far to call the owner/builder an idiot just because it's not to your taste though.

Yes I noticed the twin discs and brackets .
I don't know why we would have to hate on the bike , I see no problem with what has been done . I don't agree with all of it but I do appreciate his efforts .

There have been times I would have loved to have twin conventional shocks on my Buell. If for load capacity if nothing else.

I can take it or leave it. I would like to see more of the actual conversion process, like what happened to the shock connection on the swing arm, etc.

Is it just me, or is the 99+ M2 seat fugly?

Will someone teach me how to make the pictures "clickable" to photobucket? I am so stupid!

Not too shabby, it might look a lot better if the paint was more coordinated.

THere are a few things about that bike I really like, and Jayvee is dead on - put the right paint scheme on it and it is a great looking bike.

My favorite part is the spoke wheels.

Re, the shock connection to the swingarm - I bet the answer was "It met MR. Sawzall and decided not to hang around"

I wonder how he keeps the exhaust in one piece?
The engine is still rubber mounted, right?

I hope he reinforced the tail section, since it was never intended to carry those loads...

Well, I like it and have been looking for pix of dual shock buells to get ideas for a M2 rolling chassis, sans front wheel, I picked up at a junk yard for $40. It needs a motor, tail section, and seat; already have a front wheel from when I put PMs on my S3T.

Ideally, I'd like to put an XB (9 or 12) engine in it w/the dual shocks, and spoke wheels. I'd also lower it and add slight swingarm extensions; one reason for getting the shock and muffler from underneath the bike. I'm thinking power cruiser.

I know this is blasphemy for some on here, but I would be putting a chopped up tuber back on the road. I already have a beautiful stock S3T that I want to keep that way, but I'd like a 2nd bike more suited for straight line cruising for when I ride w/my father-in-law on his street glide. I know I could just buy a sportster or a big twin, but then it wouldn't be a Buell!
