Saw this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250865852135?ssPageName=ST RK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Anyone here used it or seen one?? I need to have mine repainted and the painter doesn't want to wast his time again on the factory plastic pos. Any other place I should be looking for a nice quality fiberglass one??
Thanks..............Jim

Im with Jayvee......

Id find a new painter!!!!.... The factory part is going to give you the best fit and finish. Its flexible high quality urethane....

Buying an aftermarket POS fiberglass one is just asking for trouble. Its going to fit like crap, and I can guarantee you it will crack, a) because it will most likely be made cheap and thin, and b) fiberglass does not have the flex.

Just look at the difference between a factory urethane car bumper and a POS aftermarket fiberglass bumper cover.

If your factory one is damaged... look for another one in usable shape.

Fine.....POS was a little harsh. When the painted body parts came from the factory, when they were painted, they did not use the correct adhesives for the primer and finish color. They all chipped or peeled, all of them that were on the road anyways......My chin was actually warped at the center joint so bad I had to add another rivet on the top to make it look halfway decent. The bike only had 4000 miles on it when I picked it up 3 years ago. Lots of paint coming off the chin, flyscreen and the front fender. My painter actually worked for the company that did my custom buell paint job. He knew how they were done and with what materials. He is currently the painter for all the new EBR bikes, painted all of them so far.......he knows his sh!t. My concern with the plastic part is mostly I don't want to deal with the warpage again if I'm going to have the time and money invested in matching the factory custom paint.......So no one else had had issues with the chin spoiler center joint coming apart or warping??

The rivet on mine was working loose so I just replaced it and used a back up washer and its been fine for the last 10K,no problems with the paint other than a few rock rock chips.

Plus I added a bracket on the left side of the Y mount to help keep it from shaking itself to death.

Saw a vid of Mr Buell showing off some C-F parts with layers of clearcoat on them, a timely process if done correctly
