I just bought a 01 M2L. 4300 miles, Supertrapp exhaust. It hasnt been ridden in two years. It shifts really hard, like the clutch plates are sticking or something. It starts right up and will shift into all gears. Just really really stiff. Going to have my buddy do a full service on it, hope thats is all it is. Anybody had this happen before? Posting this in the tech section too. Jimmy

Did you ride it for a while. My 02 M2 shifts very stiff until it warms up.

I rode it about 15 miles and it never loosened up at all. Something is out of adjustment or ??? Hope to have it apart tonight. Jimmy

Try changing the tranny fluid. It worked well for me.

Was it cold. That primary lube is like honey. In the cold its like glue. My bike slams into first and is clunky in the cold until I put quite a few miles on her.Especially if its sat for a while.

Still have not had time or weather to service it. Dallas got 12 inches of snow Thursday. Mostly melted now, but very cold and very windy. So M2 in the non heated garage will have to wait. I am going to change all the fluids and go from there. May be the middle or end of next week before it gets warm enough to mess with it. Jimmy

Crazy weather!!! The most snow ever in a 24 hr period. I have lived here since the mid 60's by far the most snow ever. Global warming at it's best.

Got it back yesterday. The primary chain only had about 1/4 slack. Did a complete service on it and adjusted it to 5/8. Shifting much better.
Going to ride it a couple of hundred miles and change the primary fluid again since it sat so long. Jimmy
