I'm replacing the Rear Brake line on my 99 S3T. The same kit as supplied for NTSA recall(new hose,4 gaskets,1 bracket. I didn't have the new currly-Q bracket on my old line, which P clamp is this replacing? And direction is it facing? Not a highly important Question I know. But it could be a life saving issue.

Take a picture of both lines. I'm not sure I understand...I'm sure someone with an S3t will chime in

If its a curly-q piece of bent coathanger looking stuff, it probably mounts to the caliper and the line runs through it, using the wireform to route the line away from the wheel and/or moving pieces of the suspension. Does it have a section that looks big enough for the hose to pass through, and one end is curled tight enough to fit under a bolt head?

Send me a part number, and I should be able to pull the instruction sheet for you (assuming its a Buell part)

Kit 94000Y Buell brake recall kit, includes H0522.L brake line and hardware. Yes it does fit over the line. Just making sure which p-clamp it is to replace. assuming the one near swing arm pivot,left rear of oil tank, so line can slide through it if needed as swing arm moves.

bah. It comes up as a kit like it should and lists all the part numbers...but no instruction sheet. Sounds like you have a good guess...maybe an S3 owner can chime in? I've got an S1 and S2...but no 3.

I'll wait, have a A/C service call to attend to, so maybe better luck when i get back. Someone has a S3 with a up to date rear brake line and a digital camera.

Huh, maybe I should buy a good digital camera instead of buell parts. Naaaa.

Bingopict #2! Thanks 5Liter. Thats where I thought it would go. My old setup had a rusty P-clamp there. I knew it wasn't what should of been there.

Thanks a ton guys. Buying a low mileage untouched S3T has good points and bad. NO previous abuse or mods gone wrong. But not a single NTSA recall was done either.

Don't know if it will help anyone else. But I found a quick flush or bleed of the rear brake line.
1 Fill the M/C to the upper fill line.
2 Remove the rubber and nylon ring from the M/C Cap and place in M/C.
3 Put index finger and ring finger on the nylon ring and hold down firm.
4 Open bleeder and press down on rubber seal in M/C with middle finger slow and easy.
5 close bleeder before releasing middle finger

(I didn't have to but)Repeat the steps until only fluid is seen at the bleeder.

It pushed the all the of air out and fluid through the line in one swift motion. Then finish with a by the SERVICE MANUAL bleed procedure and done.
Cheesy but faster than pump, hold ,open bleeder, close bleeder, pump bla bla bla.

As with all tips like this your mileage may vary. And this stunt was performed by an absolute IDIOT, Don't try this at home without Intelligent supervision.
