I have an 02 M2 that was stripped down to powdercoat the frame and many other parts. I left off some of the things that weren't a real necessity, such as the belt guards. I lost the cap that goes on the front drive sprocket hex nut. I have bearing grease that leaks out now and need a cap. Problem is that the harley dealership has no clue what i'm talking about. It's not in any of their parts manuals, so i'm the idiot for asking for something they don't make.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these? I have posted a picture that shows the exposed main drive shaft, and where the cap was originally.

Out of my 1997 S3T FACTORY PARTS BOOK we have the MYSTERY "OIL SEAL" PN 12030 ...

You must have some real stupid parts person technicians at the H-D Dealer ship that you are trying to do business with !!!

Seems they can not read the parts books, let alone know what RETO-FITS ???

This is a SPORTSTER SEAL which is the same Part Number ...

This OIL SEAL is in the BLAST and XB transmissions !!!

Thanks for the help. I actually tried explaining to them that this was the same part on the Sportster and they could give me one of those, but they still didn't know what I was talking about. I haven't had a lot of luck with the Harley/Buell dealership that is close to me.

1) Never say BUELL to a HARLET-DAVIDSON Parts Person technician as they go "BRAIN DEAD" ...

2) Have the Factory Service Manual and PARTS BOOK for your year and model ...

3)You go in and ask for a part by PART NUMBER which cuts down on all the "BUELLschitte" of the part will not fit, not made for a BUELL, and it will not RETRO-FIT ...

4) Find another dealer and since it is a RETRO-FIT part any H-D Dealer will do ...

5)Contact the BUELL(H-D)Dealers that advertise on BWB as they know what they are doing ...

Just for "KICK's" "i" called the H-D Dealers close to you until "i" found one that had the 12030 seal ...

Indianapolis H-D answered right away, but did not have seal ...

South Side H-D, called twice and put on hold twice and "i" give up on them ...

Kokomo H-D, contact Tim as they have two at (765)864-9999 ... Used to live in your area so if you take the back roads as you are not to far away from Kokomo ...
