I have a Buell race can (2.5") for my S2, and a stock header on the bike (2"). Spacing it out, a "regular" adaptor should work just fine. Walker/Napa show an aluminized 2" male to 2.5" female for like $2. I'm going to get one of those to make sure it all fits up right...but does anyone make a similar piece out of stainless? If it works, I'll want to get something that looks good too. Or at least consistent with the rest of the exhaust! |

Rat, You want something that is going to fit over your header, not inside it.......Charlie |

"2" male to 2.5" female" If the 2.5" is the interior dimension, wouldn't this be about right? Hammer close, anyway...? |

2" male is outside of the 2" collector. 2.5" female is inside the muffler inlet. It may very well be a piece of straight-ish pipe. I will measure before installing just to be safe. I haven't gotten it yet, just found it online. If a piece of 2.25" straight pipe works, I have them laying around from my turbo dodge exhausts. |

You can try jegs (jegs.com). they have many different style adapters and band clamps. Good Luck and don't forget to show us some pics when you're done. |

Get the race header too for the matched set. Dont know if it'll make any difference in power but it would definitely be as close a match as possible. Or will the race header fit that bike? If not then go with the stainless and have a muffler shop size it with the machine for a tight fit. They may even have the pipe to do it. |

Race header may fit the bike - they had one for it back in the day - but I run the fairing lowers ESPECIALLY when it's this cold out (37 degrees and 50mph gusts on the ride home, what fun that was), and all the lit I've seen for the header states "will not work with fairing lowers". Bah. I'm not upgrading to the race can for performance necessarily, but to get rid of the (what I consider) hateful buzzing noise from the Supertrapp that's on it. I've tried more discs, less discs, open end, endcap...still sounds like a swarm of bees in my helmet. I'll try Jeg's, good call. |

Ratbuell, If you have any muffler shops nearby, check them out. Sometimes they have stainless scrap pipe from where someone wanted a different muffler. And if it's close, they can size it for you......Charlie |
