Well . . . . Ned had help tonight. . . . from the group of assembled idiots.

There were some truly outrageous things said.

But . . once again. . . Joe Biden steals the cake by promising to eliminate capital gains tax and 2 minutes later promising to double it.

These folks are so full of shot it's amazing it doesn't run out their ears.

Don't think the Republicans are doing much better . . . but the Dems have a way of parading their stupidity and lack of knowledge in stage. If they simply tweeted stupid shit they'd be Republicans

Prediction: Trump will mediate a truce between the Turks and Kurds, and the EU will step up to help maintain peace.

Meanwhile, the Socialists/Democrats will continue to do nothing but lie and scheme against our President.

But, hey, if Congress wants to not abandon the Kurds, wants to take ownership of this, wants to grow a spine for once, they have the power.

And if they don’t use that power, it only proves what a bunch of hypocritical, mewling little cowards they all are.

It is ridiculous that congress critters are up in arms about pulling out of Syria. They never authorized military action there in the first place. They did manage to look the other way on their oversight responsibilities when BO sent troops in there though. Same goes for the MSM! Of the the presumable intent (I never really heard the official reason from POTUS) was to fight ISIS. ISIS is not who we are leaving Syria to fight at this point. I really don't know much about the disputed territory between Turkey and Syria, so I don't really know who's the bad guy in this. I gut tells me there's probably not a good guy in this fight though.

I did try reading an article on MSNBC a few days ago. I actually tried to read it all twice. I couldn't make it through the whole thing. They were making the case of how successful the mission had been in protecting the Kurds for the past 5 years, and how awful it was that they were now being abandoned. Seems to me that they are making the case for a quagmire of mission creep and a lack of clear objectives. This is exactly what Trump, like it or not, campaigned on. Pulling us out of pointless and endless wars.

It would be refreshing, if they really thought we should be fighting there, against a NATO ally (I'm not sure what the implications of that might be), they should stand up and make the case for doing that. Just blaming Trump for not falling into the trap of mission creep, where the mission never was made clear in the first place, is just fodder for the weak minded.

Good for the orange man for making a hard decision that is in line with his campaign promises.

https://freebeacon.com/columns/syria-endgame/

I have one correction to your post.

We, Obama, did NOT go into Syria to fight ISIS. Obama went in for...reasons. He didn't make his motivation clear, other than to overthrow Assad, & support the "rebels". It was, apparently, just another shot at Obama "supporting" the " Arab Spring ".

I'm of the opinion based on Barry's biographies, and the actual results of his interventions across N.Africa and into the 'stans, that his Real Motivation was to overthrow secular, if rotten, governments, and hand them to Islamist groups allied with The Muslim Brotherhood. Like AQ, or more than 1/3 of this list.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_designated _terrorist_groups

I could be wrong about Obama's motivation. But I am solidly certain he lies about them, and he did blame Libya on Hillary and Susan, who wanted a nice little war to show how hawkish Hillary was for her upcoming campaign, and Susan ( Rice ) has Muslim Brotherhood connections. Cynically, must be nice to be able to give wars as presents.

But whatever the reason you think Obama sent troops to Syria, they weren't there to fight ISIS until AFTER ISIS declared themselves a "country" ( caliphate ) after they exploited the power vacuum Obama created by pulling out of Iraq, and, apparently, getting a bunch of weapons from Obama's gun running operation, in cooperation with Erdogan in Turkey.

Then, after the torture, murder, slavery, and atrocities got on tv, Obama mostly pretended to "go after ISIS" but mostly didn't. After all, they were his creation, deliberate or accidental. And he hadn't sent a force capable, or ever intended, to win battles. It was advisors and trainers and intelligence gathering.

( It can be hard to tell incompetent failure from clever treason. Obama is a perfect example. He even repeatedly said he found out about criminal actions of his government only after seeing the news reporting his crimes against humanity. )

Trump changed the game. Assad should go, he said, but gave orders to destroy ISIS. And succeeded in taking away their territory. Killing the international organization just can't be done, as long as idiots like the ones in England & here refuse to crack down on Islamist terrorist groups and the folk that go play jihadi to get sex slaves and a promise of heaven.

So, unless we wanted to get really dark & dirty in Syria, like murdering all the ISIS prisoners taken by our allies, OR go to war with Turkey, that would shatter NATO and give Putin sway over Turkey & Syria, to the future doom of Europe, our actual options are limited, militarily.

That the threat of economic sanctions, playing on Erdogan's fear of losing his dictatorship, would work? I'd doubt it.

But the Bad Orange Man isn't playing the game like precious American Presidents. So...

I wouldn't bother to argue against any of what you said in that post. I was simply giving the benefit of a doubt to the progressives having 5 years to come up with a plausible explanation for why we are in Syria. What I'm sure of is that we didn't go into Syria to protect an oil rich territory from being taken by Turkey. Oddly, that sounds a lot like they want to trade blood for oil. Seems like I've heard that sort of accusation somewhere before.

Overthrowing Assad is, arguably, a Good Thing.

But even when I was urging Bush the Younger to invade Iran, send the Mullahs to Gitmo, and free the Iranian people, I didn't call for an invasion of Syria.

I was for enforcing border security between Iraq & Iran & Syria, if we weren't going to free Iran. It was well known that Jihadi and weapons were pouring over the borders, and that both the Mullahs & Assad were behind it, with Russia behind them.

But Russia didn't have a Port facility in Iran, nor were they an open ally. Assad was, and Syria is one of a very few ports Russian warships can use that doesn't ice over, or have a choke point like Istanbul. ( the Black Sea ) Gibraltar apparently isn't that important now? So it was Syria & Cuba as the 2 Soviet/Russian allies we didn't attack to avoid WWlast, as Russia was assumed to go to any means to keep them.

Iraq will go down in history as the most one sided victory in military action, brilliantly played with the smaller force, us, defeating a huge army with technology and skill and sneaky tactics. ( like the fake landing in Northern Iraq ) Afghanistan was a special forces triumph with guys on horses with native forces doing precision ground support bombing with B-52s orbiting out of sight at high altitude.

The occupation of both was, OTOH, a disaster, and Barry deliberately screwed it up worse. Mission creep, well meaning idiocy, and supporting useless corrupt locals that weren't even good puppets.

IMHO the big mistake was not imposing a basic Constitution on both with Free Speech, Religious Freedom, and preferably the Right to Self Defense, on them then getting the Frack Out, preferably through Iran. I personally would have given every woman an AK and ammo, and any man who politely asked. Any terrorists from out of town would be toast.

Note that at no point would I go to war with Russia, over Syria. You negotiate that.

Why in God's Hades couldn't we have had Mitt Romney?? At least he has a brain, a conscience, sense. The GOP has jumped the shark. Assuming a poor future if Donald takes a second term, who will succeed him? Surely none of his sons, maybe Ivanka.

Bipartisanship. Left, and Right. Balance. It's a thing. No, really, it's a concept. WE should work towards such a thing. "Progress". What's the opposite?

Liberal v. Conservative. It's all a load of bullshit, watch out for the trucks.

Get ready for the ride, youn's.

Good lord! The left demonized Romney just as they are Trump. Rich, conservative, successful businessman. Mean to dogs. Binders full of women. Womanizer. Hates the poor. Suddenly he is a great guy because he backstabs Trump, who he desperately wanted to be Secretary of State under? Romney is showing his true duplicitous self right now, and he's a hero to the left.

The reality of Trump is that he's not all that conservative. He's supported many Democrat candidates in the past. He is strong on Business though. That creates a strong economy, something that the left seems to think is a good thing for China and Russia. Why not the US? They actually campaigned on sub 2% GDP growth as the "new normal". BO said Trump couldn't do better without a magic wand. They've been proven wrong over the past 3 years. Suddenly, if we aren't doing at least 3% they are claiming we are teetering on recession and economic collapse. We're seeing 3.5% unemployment rates. I don't remember that in my lifetime. It's a shame that the left isn't on board with good economic policy. They fight it all the way. As I said, they actually campaigned on it! Right now they are working against good economic policy and cheering on a recession. They don't care about the well being of the country, just the power they hold over it.

The Republicans aren't that much better either. Romney is just the most recent, and vocal example. Many of them hate Trump just as much as the Dems. Why? Because he isn't one of them either.

The reality is that Trump IS what you are asking for. Someone who will fight for what's good, and denounce the bad... On both sides of the aisle. If you stop listening to the talking heads in the MSM and loudmouthed politicians who are looking out for themselves, you will find that Trump really is what real people are looking for in a leader. The sheep will remain too stupid to realize it, even as they are being fleeced though. It's a shame.
