Gun control.

How about we focus on CRIMINAL control??

I know there are millions (MILLIONS) of gun owners out there who haven't broken laws. It has nothing to do with the guns.

I know VERY FEW criminals who haven't broken the law. Kinda the definition of "criminal"...whereas it is NOT the definition of "gun".

I'm about halfway through and thus far...Maher isn't being to much of an . And Colion Noir? Makes a TON of good points, very well put together.

“I didn’t know that you could do that,” Wickwire said, laughing. “Kinda shocking to me, that you can just jump on a windshield and completely cave it in.”

I know stupidity is an epidemic in society today, but really?

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/08/05/beto -orourke-australian-gun-control-on-table-after-el- paso-dayton-shootings/

I suppose a guy who spells his name wrong to be trans -racial, would be expected to mistake Australia for Austria. And still be wrong, as it was Germany that had the gun control he really admires.

He couldn't mean Australia, where violent crime increased when they took away gun rights, although perhaps he admired the government willingness to lie about crime ( as seen in England ) to cover their legislative disasters.

No, he must have meant Austria, where the very effective gun control legislation took guns away from the Jews so they couldn't shoot back at the government thugs loading them onto trains for Free Transportation! ( socialism is great! ) He is a proud member of the Party who obsesses over trains, Jews, and White Supremacy, after all.

And the similarities of his Party to the Socialists that rank #3 on the all time hit parade, are clearer every day.

What is an assault weapon?

The consensus, even among socialists/communists/democrats, is that the assault weapons ban of the 90’s was completely ineffectual. No amount of gun bans will stop evil and/or insane people unless you're willing to go door to door with armed (ironically) goons to confiscate them. Gun buyback programs are similarly a joke.

Man, listening to "liberals" go on about "gun control" due to their expert reading of Vox articles is really absurd. So was my evening. It was also alluded to that I have an aversion to reading books. No, I've just been following the pertinent laws, studies, and statistics for decades...but unrelated degrees, a proper indoctrination, and leftist propaganda makes anyone a subject expert, apparently.

"Assault Weapon" definition.

Zero technical, technological, legal existence. A made up phrase with deliberately zero meaning, intended to produce fear, and enable the taking of rights by hysteria and lies.

Seriously. The Wikipedia page, before it was altered, gave the name of the man who invented the imaginary phrase, his intent, and the anti-gun rights organizations he was a member & executive of.

My definition above, which I admit is a paraphrase, not a quote, is accurate and true. If you go to the wayback site, or sign up to edit Wikipedia, you can look for yourself. If the original hasn't been purged, but someone must have a copy.

I can give you the etymology of the phrase. It is a deliberate play on "Assault Rifle" which IS defined as a select fire rifle using an intermediate cartridge. ( as opposed to a Battle Rifle which typically used a full power full length cartridge , for example, .30-06 or 6.5 Swedish Mauser. )

The English term "Assault Rifle" is a poor translation of the German Sturmgewehr, which is a typically German compound word meaning Storm Rifle. The origin of Sturmgewehr is known. Adolph Hitler chose to rename the machine pistol ( translated ) 43 & 44 to Storm Rifle as a propaganda tool. Both to scare his enemies and bolster his troops that they had a cool sounding new gun.

"Assault Weapon" is also a propaganda tool, meant to fool people into thinking an object thus falsely named was a real Assault Rifle, or machine gun. And, yep, scary name.

I don't need to go into the real gun side definitions or technical details with you guys. If anyone has a question on that there are several here who can give accurate true answers.

I just wanted to fill in the exact details of a deliberate lie we are exposed to 24/7 and warn you that few politicians know anything about the facts and most of those that do embrace the dishonesty for a higher cause. Their wealth & power, and F%&$ truth.

"Weapon of War" is the new Assault Rifle. I believe the M1 carbine is the last semi-auto rifle introduced to the US Army, 77 years ago.

Arguably the M1 carbine was last to be made by the millions, though the M-14 was a failure as a full auto battle rifle, and was often issued as a semi auto only.

I'd say no full auto battle rifle was a success, but the FAL & G3/CETME were.

My never answered question to gun phobes is "what level of technology is appropriate for civilian use? Century old tech?" This usually results in irrational fury, no doubt from anger at being shamed for ignorance, or just Leftist substitute for reason.

In fire arm tech everything except lasers and computers was common, commercially available a century ago. An 18 year old man or women could walk into a store & buy a semi auto rifle with a "standard capacity magazine". We didn't have mass murder suicides for fame as a serious problem for the last century, so the gun tech is not the reason. But we did have a few.

Btw, next year the Thompson submachine gun celebrates it's 100th anniversary in 2021. ( actually a year earlier ) So expect to see one on the cover of every gun magazine, just like 2011 was Colt model of 1911 overload.

Back to rant. Light alloys, semi auto mechanisms in multiple ways, plastic grips, all the New Evil is century old, or older tech. Optics is the only real improvement over the last century.

True, an "intermediate cartridge" semi auto rifle wasn't a feather weight in 1907, but neither is today's typical AR.

Great series. Tech geek awesome. Serious scholarship & detail.

Btw, in the C&Arsenal series the lovely Mae is the featured shooter for two reasons. The host is a big bear of a dude, and guns look out of proportion with him, while Mae is typical in height and weight to a WW1 soldier. She's also well capable of explaining ergonomics and operational efficiency. And looks good, so... Three reasons.

Gun nuts may wonder why she lowers a gun while shooting often and shoots so deliberately. That's for safety with guns more than a century old with sometimes iffy ammo. She is visually verifying extraction, checking for double feeds, and signs of malfunction.

Some few may mock her shooting skill. You try doing better with a gun you just met that your great grandfather took to war. Standing. Offhand. after hours standing in one place in the sun so they don't have to refocus the cameras. She does a great job at demonstrating the intrinsic capability of a fire arm built at maximum output speed from an era that hitting 4 minutes of angle was sniper quality and 8 moa was the more likely norm.

In the context of recently repaired antiques test firing? Better than most of us, I bet.

When it comes to mass shootings it needs to be made clear: guns don't kill people. Political rhetoric doesn't kill people. Drug-fueled psychotics are what kill people.

My point exactly when I say we don't need "gun control"...we need CRIMINAL control.

It's not the tool. I've left my guns unlocked and unattended for hours on end...they haven't killed a single creature.

I guess they're lazy. No ambition.

I heard something this morning that I guess I knew at one time but forgot about it. If you have a juvenile record of hate and records of rape list and murder list etc., it all gets expunged when you turn 18. WTF? This needs to be changed. If you're headed down the wrong path as a teenager what the heck changes when you turn 18, other than you can buy a gun. None of the violence done pre 18 goes on any background check. 12 out of the last 13 shootings were guys who had a juvi record. This is what I heard but would like to confirm it. It makes sense.

It's not an object problem, it's a people problem.

But since almost all mass murderers are leftist Democrats, forbid Democrats from having guns.

It won't solve the problem, since criminals don't obey the law, by definition. But it might start a lot of massacres. by outraged Democrats.

I've said it before - maybe in a different thread - but we need to make juvi records accessible - privately and confidentially - to ATF in the case of gun purchases.

Not "increased background checks" or anything like that - just giving the relevant authorities access to records that already exist. The "anti-privacy-invasion" people will squawk like geese about this...but the fact is, the person(s) did something that got them a record, and that record is pertinent information. Period.

https://spectator.org/mass-shootings-in-gun-free-z ones/

Duh.

They're ALL cowards. And, I give a lot of value to the INCEL argument...now sure how to deal with, or profile, that one, but...I think there's something to it.

That would make sense to normal people, but we have seen what the politicized IRS did and Obama's opponent's "sealed" divorce records leaked, so if another lawless bunch is elected, who knows?
