We'll have to agree to disagree on the coffee. You may have a more educated palate than I do.

Most people do.

I don't like crustaceans, but do like the Krab ( fish ) meat in Krab salad. Don't like real Crab salad, much. Go figure.

I blame my Nebraska & South Dakota childhood, where fish meant Catfish, or Trout if it was a fancy restaurant. ( Like the ones by the River, on pilings. Fresh fish. )

So I didn't grow up with seafood.

I remember mixing white margarine with the supplied food coloring packet. ( illegal to sell yellow margarine, fake butter, in some dairy states )

My family didn't always have an excess of money. A BS way of saying we were, sometimes, a bit poor. Hot dog water used to make the Kraft Dinner, to get every calorie & bit of protein. We had a family code, for when guests came to diner. FHB meant family hold back on seconds. MIB meant more in back, go for it.

Mom grew up in Depression Nebraska, Grandfather had lost the Farm in the Bank failures, and times really were tough then. She learned to cook & keep house early, and squeeze a dime until it squealed. Her dad worked as a night watchman, day laborer, and then Butcher. Grand Dad taught me how to make Venison sausage, mixed with pork for flavor. He took me to work with him. I have few illusions about where food comes from.

Poverty is personal. And not historical. I know folk that kept the family in protein with squirrel, with a 2 round budget for family meals, in the 1980's. ( Divorce and kids are hard incentives to frugality ) Folk today have it just as tough. Remember "The New Normal"? That's rich lefty politician speak for "take what we give you ungrateful peasant", when they give your money to rich folk that bribe them with campaign cash.

For me, Coffee was coffee. McDonalds didn't make good coffee, until fairly recently. It was kept and served extra hot to hide it's quality. DD was fine on cold nights, and still rates as baseline for most folk.

Then I met coffee snobs, discovered Kenyan, and Tanzanian, and got educated by a Cardiac ICU Nurse who ordered beans from individual plantations, and drank it super dark and potent. Also with cream, which balanced the bite.

I like a light/medium roast, sugar, raw sugar, or honey, and no dairy. Like women, hot black and sweet. ( because redhead and freckled doesn't work as the joke )

I like good coffee but I can't afford it, so I drink Maxwell house. Which isn't bad.

Starbucks is an overpriced, trendy image, that is all. And 213° coffee is too hot to serve. When my wife drags me to starbucks, I ask them to put a couple pieces of ice in it. On several occasions they've made comments like, "oh, so you can drink it RIGHT NOW!"
Yeah, no crap, that's why I'm buying it RIGHT NOW.

I was poor, but I grew up with "seafood". Catfish, bass, crawdad. To this day, Lobster tastes like crawdad. And I still love it.

And don't forget, Long John Silver's!

Gots to have my coffee in the AM. If I'm ambitious I go ahead and prep the coffee maker to pre-set and start sometime before we get up, especially before we head out of town... otherwise, I lay in bed and wait until she gets up and makes the coffee... we have the SLOWEST drip maker, but when I hear the three beeps, THEN I can get out of bed.

Kroger "Spotlight" French Roast is the best for the money. I know a place where they'll sell you half-price Starbucks, a nice grocery outlet... not worth the hassle to get there and back.

Fido coffee house in Nashville, Hillsboro Village, is great. Right between Vanderbilt and Belmont universities, all the pretty people get their coffee there.

Hills Bros(Denver roasted) French Roast whole bean.
I have a 30 year old Braun grinder that's like a mini blender that runs every morning.

I head to the shop with a Yeti cup and a full stainless thermos.
I am rarely seen in the daytime without my coffee cup.

Toss the overpriced Yeti cup.

For years YETI Coolers have been a hot item for sportsmen at the Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction events around the country.

These Foundation events raise money to support youth programs and educational programs nationwide. The youth of America who benefit from these programs are the future hunters, hikers, fishermen/women, bikers, campers, wildlife photographers, mountain climbers, sportsmen/women and conservationists who will protect our natural resources and recreational lands.

Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isn't sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America's young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy
outdoor recreational and educational programs.

The NRA Foundation is 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization.

In this day and age, information is power. We thought you needed this information.

I've cut back, I'm down to a half a pot in the morning, plus a few additional cups in the pm.

I get made fun of for carrying a giant "old-man" Thermos around. But it works great, and my coffee stays piping hot.

If I had to give up all vices but one, Coffee would be the one I'd retain.

Don't hate me for my Yeti "tumbler".

I got to work one morning and realized I had no insulated cup.
Hit the local grocery store... nada, so the only other place was Ace Hardware and all they had was the yeti.
Can't spend all day drinking out of the thermos lid, so I bought it.

I will say, it's the best insulated cup I've ever had.
Oh and btw, I don't do Starbucks...

I've had excellent luck with my Contigo mug. Countless miles in a saddlebag, never opens by mistake, coffee (if there's any left) still warm at the end of the day. Got it at Lowe's, double-wall aluminum with a serious click-top lid.

I make my own coffee. 3 or 4 weeks' worth of grounds for the price of one cardboard cup of burnt Starbucks, does me just fine.

For the first 40 years of my life I didn't drink coffee. Smelled good, tasted good, but just never got into the habit. Today I have a nice-but-cheap Delonghi espresso machine and milk steamer on the counter and can't wait to make one in the AM: )
I'm still finding precisely the flavor and style I like but all the ones I've had at Starbucks suck (and it's always way too hot!) No matter the kind, it always tastes burned?

The vacuum insulated stainless cups are awesome!

Burned my damn tongue even after it sat for a couple hours! I do feel (with zero scientific testing whatsoever) that the Yeti Branded tumbler I have is a little better than the cheap-o one I have?

Maybe I just like being all hoity-toity about it. Pinkys UP!

RTIC makes great tumblers at a much more reasonable price than Yeti. I bought a case of them and handed them out as Christmas presents.

That said, if you really want a Yeti; I know a place offering buy one, get one free on 30oz stainless tumblers.

Alas, ORCA'S Chasers/Tumblers are made in China like everybody else's. Coolers are USA made.

There is not a single manufacturer in the U.S. that makes stainless steel travel tumblers, that I have been able to find.

I bought this many years ago. Thermos stainless steel tumbler.

It was on a shelf with a bunch of others but the packaging was different. Upon further investigation I found it was the last Made in USA tumbler on the shelf! Obviously I snatched it up. Sad to see!
