http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2018/03 /20/world-bank-prophesies-that-over-140-million-wi ll-face-forced-migration-due-to-climate-change/

I suppose if Mexico City was to suffer a major volcanic eruption and earthquakes ( caused of course by Global Warming. ... or witchcraft, same level of logic ) then the Bank would be correct.

However we now know that 95 odd million refugees were created by Obama's Wars which were triggered by higher food prices as a result of food to fuel programs in the U.S.

We haven't yet seen the human toll of the current European program that cuts down forests in South America to supply alternative energy to fossil fuels. ( no, really! Look it up )

So we have predictions of disaster by the folk who have been predicting disaster and been wrong, & real disaster based on the policies of the disaster salesmen. The real disaster is mixed with a religious war.

Thus a religion created by the Soviet Union and a religion exploited by Russia ( which they are at war with domestically ) synergistically act to destroy Europe and western civilization as planned by the Soviets.

I think I just got banned from traveling to England and Sweden.

Impressive. Terrifying. Welcome to Minority Report.

Soooo.....don't go blowing people up, and you won't have to worry about tracking tech being used on you.

Seems fairly simple to me, yes?

https://www.news-journal.com/news/police/all-clear -after-suspicious-device-at-laird-hill-post-office /article_5a0d6c2c-2d25-11e8-a63b-5733349237f0.html

You see a suspicious string hanging out of a Mailbox, Call the Police. Seriously.

Ratbuell.... Simple? No. I have to disagree.

Yes, the argument "Don't want to get shot by the police, don't try to kill them" is valid.

This tech is there. It will get abused. A local police department got money tracking gear. Modern Dollar bills have a tuned antenna built in, ( that strip ) and if you "ping" the antenna it responds ( passively ) simple radio-radar tech. Each denomination is a different Freq. There is a gizmo that looks like a radar gun, that you can just aim at a house, and it counts the cash & displays it. I suppose the justification for a small rich suburban police department to possess such toys is anti-drug dealer and was Federally sponsored. But what they actually do when they are bored is aim it at houses as the cruise down the street and laugh at how much cash is at hand vs. the look of the property.

It's a scary invasion of privacy, don't your think? Seems like the perfect Burglar tool to me.

So on the face of it, the cops getting your Google searches is an effective crime solver. After all, you've never searched for anything "bad" have you? Like shopping for a rifle, or researching a politician, or seeking news of a politically incorrect nature?

And the police or anyone having access to your location 24/7 is no problem as long as you don't go anywhere "dirty", right? No strip clubs, or Pot/liquor/porn/gun/drug stores on your weekly schedule, of course.

Everyone who stopped within a few blocks of a suspected illegal drug house can be tracked. Are you on a list because you helped a friend move a home gym he found on craigslist in a different neighborhood? No guilt needed to get on a list. That list gets cross indexed with a list of license plates that is flagged for attention, you might get pulled over for no reason, except fishing for trouble. Your conscience is clear, right? No unpaid parking tickets?

I both want these tools properly used, and fear their abuse. They Always get Abused.

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/03/the-p aris-climate-accords-are-starting-to-look-like-fan tasy.html

I love science fiction. This is Awesome!
I love how with one hand they make claims that we are all doomed based on faulty models, and how the various countries are not going to make their goals according to those models. Then with the other they claim that it will require essentially murdering millions, if not billions of people from starvation to implement the idealistic plan to counter burning fossil fuels with the planting of... plants. But not food plants! Oh, No! Apparently only magic plants you can't eat use CO2.

As with all good science fiction, there is a core of real science that some stories use as a jumping off point for speculation. ( Warp drives, Clones, etc. )

In this case it's the truth that following the Greenie plan is a recipe for mass starvation, poverty, and war.

Taken as a whole, this is a propaganda article full of lies and misdirection. But it's interesting to me that it's pretending to be, and using the language of anti-authoritarian folk to push a very authoritarian movement.

I love critters. Dogs, cats, the fox that stalks the rabbits in my yard. ( who, amazingly, thrive despite the fox & coyote )

You might have a point on the vegan part. American vegans eat a lot of soy. In Asia soy is a condiment and protein ingredient. But westerners eat soy milk & soy this and that a lot more. Soy contains hormone like chemicals that are similar to Estrogen. So many vegans are on unwitting hormone therapy....Estrogen is what male to female transsexuals take to soften the skin, grow breasts, inhibit beards etc.

Marijuana is also reputed to contain hormone analogues although research here is lacking and suspect because of government policy.

So pot smoking vegans being subtly emasculated psychologically? Not far fetched.

While I remain skeptical about the arrival date of commercial fusion power, it is a solution to many problems. With enough cheap power you can desalinate water for LA. Make concrete, steel, fertilizer, cheaper and provide lower cost food & shelter to the poor. ( & us ) etc.

Population issues? Yes. Real. If just the U.S. goes organic then a billion people die. The first year.

Mandatory population control, like Eugenics, has the same question built in. Who decides? Who will determine the Master Race? Who will enforce slavery and eternal poverty on most of the planet? David Hogg? Soros? Merkel?

"If just the U.S. goes organic then a billion people die. The first year. "

Well bless your heart.

I wonder how that works? If we go 5% organic then 50 million die? Tragic, because if there is any trend that is growing, it is the continuing growth of organic foods. The state I live in is one of the leaders and growth is strong and being supported by our state department of agriculture.

Organic is not easy but it works, pays well, helps minimize run-off, builds a key national asset (soil) and best of all delivers a product that tastes great and the public wants.

If we go 5% organic then 50 million die?

Darn it, I got the math wrong.

5% organic only leads to war and a few million dead. Much better than my wrong statement above. I base that on the Food to Fuel program, that has, with a lot of help from Obama in his Obama's Wars displaced 65 million plus people and how many hundred thousand dead?

My best guess now that you pointed out my error is only a hundred million dead or so. Not counting war. That's a high variable.

That's based on the last report on actual results of about 10% less crop per acre and I don't know how much fuel difference.

he state I live in is one of the leaders and growth is strong and being supported by our state department of agriculture.

Iowa is big on the Food to Fuel deal, more money for the farmers, which I'm all for. Wars and higher food prices in foreign lands are a factor there. Gotta have family farms to get good heirloom food. Don't want Europe to burn. Hmmm. Not easy answers sometimes.

Organic is not easy but it works, pays well, helps minimize run-off, builds a key national asset (soil) and best of all delivers a product that tastes great and the public wants.

Please correct my ignorance, what technique in "Organic Farming" does a better job of preserving the soil than Roundup? Not that Roundup based farming is ideal.

The Public wants and taste factors? I'm skeptical. Not disbelieving. There is a difference.

The go-to solution for organic farming is arsenic. Not something they like to advertise.

If the Ocean rises over a yard, then the bunnies in the Keys are endangered. True. So are the people. Key deer too. If it rises 20.000 feet, we get a movie starring Kevin Costner and Dennis Hopper. ( which I liked )

And if the temperature rises to 451 degrees.......

It's headed for the Atlantic!!! Uh. Pacific!

Missed land, apparently. Good. I was on the edge of the predicted impact zone & not worried.

The danger to humans of satellite crashes is low. Lots of ocean.

The fear you didn't know that you should have is a Kessler Cascade.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kessler_syndrome

Orbital garbage man is destined to be the lifesaving technology of the 21st century. Ironically there is an international ban on cleaning up the orbital space. Nobody wants anyone else to look at or intercept their satellites. Understandable. We don't want anyone to steal our tech, and Russia doesn't want anyone to know how many nukes they put in orbit in violation of treaty.

It's like banning mine sweeping to keep mine technology secret. Eventually you can't safely navigate. Imagine no more ships. Or satellites.

I can't make this stuff up. Heinlein was right. We live in The Crazy Years.
