Aesquire: I do not interpret your comments as a call, but rather a precaution. I also believe the "forces" used for such activities would be split upon such orders. A portion would obey, the rest would go home and wait for the knock, (but not necessarily directly behind the door if you get my meaning).

Today I'll bet the majority so ordered would flip the bird and walk away for a couple reasons. One, they understand and believe in the freedoms they defend. Two, as you pointed out, it would be too dang dangerous to do. (especially on a rookie cop's salary)

But give it a couple generations, when the institutions have dumbed down the populace, and all they know is what they are told to them by the social engineering media. By then all we have are .22s and shotguns, because everything else has either been banned, or the supply of ammunition is dried up.

In a failed economy, with a government police or military job that pays, a squad of body armored comrades might be more willing to violate others rights if the odds of facing an equally armed opponent were slim, and it meant a steady paycheck to feed their family.
I don't stand for 2nd amendment rights out of fear the government will seize MY guns (yet). I stand for fear they will take them from my yet to be born grandchildren.
My children understand this now that they are grown themselves.

"supporting our Constitution while keeping our children and grandchildren safe".

Well...Corbat (Citigroup's CEO) says he's a "responsible gun owner"...so...BE RESPONSIBLE.

1. keep track of your weapon. Always.

2. TEACH your children and grandchildren:
a: respect for life, respect for other humans
b: respect for firearms and the damage they can cause
c: respect for the rule of law
d: again - RESPECT FOR ALL LIFE AND ALL PERSONS

3. Again - keep track of your weapon ALWAYS.

If kids respect human life regardless of politics or personal opinions, if kids respect (and UNDERSTAND) firearms and the damage they can cause, and if they never get their hands on them in the first place unless under close personal supervision...we'd pretty much eliminate these school / student-caused shootings.

Oh.

Wait.

That requires PARENTING.

That's too much like WORK.

It's easier to blame an inanimate object, than it is to DO YOUR JOB AS A PARENT AND AN ADULT.

What was I thinking?

Resist. Tell the Truth. Demand your rights. Punish Citigroup. Support your pro rights organization of choice.

Remember the NRA is hated by the Democrat Party because it taught gun safety and marksmanship in Black churches after the Civil War. The action arm of the Party, the KKK, found it inconvenient to go out lynching and burning crosses when the victims shoot back. The Democrats have never forgiven that.

The choice is simple. An organization that supports your rights. Or an organization that threatens to rape the spokeswoman, forces her to move to save her children, & today threatens to murder her children for her standing up for you.

It's obvious to me.

The good news is it's now legal to be a teen prostitute there. Good if you want to be one anyway. Bad if you are being forced to. I have to assume this is written for the California legislators so they can have sex with little boys easier.

Speaking of Hogg... Here he is claiming that a new requirement for clear backpacks violate their 1st amendment rights. He says it's about "privacy" rights. I didn't know the first amendment was about privacy. I'm relieved to know that our nation is about to follow this constitutional scholar into trampling our 2nd amendment rights. We are certainly in good hands!

Parkland’s Hogg: Rules Requiring Clear Backpacks Violate Our First Amendment Rights

I will admit, I'm not sure I could be sold on clear backpacks as a solution. It's not like a rifle will actually fit into a backpack. It's another solution that wouldn't fix the problem we just experienced.

Sure a rifle will fit in a backpack. I used to have an Armalite AR-7 that stored the barrel & action in the stock. It fit in the flack pocket in my Dad's old Marine Corps jacket. ( Korean war vintage ) I wish I hadn't sold it. It was Armalite over stamped Charter Arms with the aluminum barrel.

Henry sells a version now that's not as good. Doesn't float. Plastic barrel & "improved" stock. Still a good backpack gun for a bugout bag.

It's clearly discrimination!

But why stop at backpacks, why not make transparent clothing mandatory? If you can't hide it in your bag, you can still hide it on your body.

I could argue either side. If the school board agrees that backpacks should be clear, then that's fine. It's not violating your right to free speech. At the same time, it's also not going to stop school shootings. The only way to stop a shooter is to incapacitate him.
"Dang, I was gonna shoot up that school, but they have a clear backpack rule. Oh well, i'll jut give up on my psychopathic thought process and behave like a rational human being".

I knew there are a few examples that prove my statement somewhat false. Of course, these are not the weapons being demonized by the anti-gunners. In all fairness, the examples I know of, including your AR-7 aren't likely choices for a mass killing. Not that I'm volunteering to be shot with one to prove that point.

I have a couple of my own questions I've been asking.

1) Is there anywhere on the face of the earth where strict gun laws have had any impact on gun violence?

2) Explain the poor correlation of NY, Chicago and Washington, DC's strict gun laws with the, at least in Chicago and Washington, out of control gun crime.

3) What on earth could be a possible "legitimate" use of a "bump stock"?

I'm a big 2nd Amendment supporter . . . a USMC trained Expert . . . I am disappointed by the mob mentality of most the folks . . to a degree on both sides of the discussion . . . who could easily make me think they didn't know much.

1. Yes. In very strict gun control countries the suicide rate is lower, and the rate at which the people get run over by tanks is higher.

2. An anti-civil-rights person would say, truthfully that the problem is that you can buy guns elsewhere and bring them into the low rights zone. If they can just make the whole country gun free, then the gun violence will go down. Tank violence OTOH.

By Tank violence I include police shooting people who want to go to church or who disagree with the government. Guns are still involved, the violence is no less painful, but it's 100% government violence, and for some people, like Chinese leaders, that's just fine.

If, hypothetically, you could invoke Harry Potter magic and make all guns disappear, then the violence level would, in fact, go way up. Rape would go up in a high multiple. Robbery, ditto. See famous quote re: God & Sam Colt.

For women, 2 technological developments have given them more freedom than anything else. The Pill. ( freedom from unwanted pregnancy ) and the repeating hand gun. ( much higher freedom from rape & slavery )

You will note that the number of pimps & dead prostitutes is higher where there are strict gun control laws.

3. Fun. No other need that I can think of.

Why then do I defend such a silly and useless toy? Because I've been lied to by the anti freedom people for so long and so much that I no longer care if anything they say has even a fraction of a percent of truth. 98% or 67% lie is still lie.

I've read their manual. Handgun Control Inc. used to be honest with their own people, before they became the Brady organization to exploit a crippled man who can't speak for himself.

There is no "enough". There is no, "all we want". It's very simple. One item at a time they will give it scary names. "Assault Weapon" is the current one. One item at a time they will get it banned, them move on.

Btw, until it was purged in 2016, the Wikipedia entry for "assault weapon" gave the name and organization of the fellow who invented the term, and it's purpose, which is to lie. There is no such thing. It's a deliberately imaginary phrase meant to mean anything you want it to and scare people into giving up ANYTHING, but mostly their rights. That history was erased.

After "Assault Weapons" ( see above ) then anything with a scope is a "Sniper Rifle" . Any shotgun plus a hacksaw is a "sawed off shotgun". Any .22 rimfire is an "Assassination Weapon". ( Based on a myth that the Mafia uses them. Completely made up. ) And any hand gun is "too easily concealed.

Black & White, in print. The strategy is public knowledge. ( I had a copy once, but it got loaned out... ) I can give you the Amazon reference to the book that has the manual reprinted.

Obviously there is no "legitimate" use for a sniper rifle or sawed off shotgun or assassination weapon.

Thus, screw the mantra Legitimate use. That's a lie. Every magic phrase is a lie.

Never again. Resist. Disobey.

For me it's rather simple. On the one hand we have an organization that taught gun safety and marksmanship in Black churches after the civil war, still does so today for police and civilians, and has an active school safety program to train volunteer teachers and staff gun safety and prevent gun violence in schools. ( Bet you didn't see that on CNN ) The NRA is a bit open to influence by donors, which include companies like Midway USA who donate a percentage of their sales to keeping the freedom that lets their business keep going.

On the Other hand we have an organization that is sponsored by the Communist Party USA, an Ex Nazi currency manipulator that made his fortune ruining economies, and issued death threats, and rape threats to a spokeswomen of the NRA, making her move to stay alive, and recently outed the addresses and work locations of her adult female children.

I have no trouble picking sides.

I have heard that it can help people with certain disabilities to operate the weapon. I have no clue if there's any truth in that or not. The only other possible reason I can see is that you just have too damn much ammo. I don't believe that to be a real condition. I still hate to see them banned.

The reality is that they are an end run around not being able to sell new automatic fire weapons. I think our countries founders would likely think that regular citizens would have a valid reason for automatic weapons.

>>>Typical anti American debris field.

Therein lies what will render the argument as neutered at the outset.

If the greatest complaint someone can marshal is an accumulation of trash . . .the article goes into some detail about the composition of the refuse . . . it's going to fall on deaf ears.

If it doesn't . . . the Buell gatherings of the past will likely have to be reclassified as "radical left wing".

I'd rather see these folks' arguments proved wrong that worry about the trash they left.

I've asked couple folks this morning . . . "how do you feel about Paul McCartney and George Clooney" having armed guards at this event?

For the record . . . I have no proof they did . . . but the response, from decidedly "anti-gun" folks . . is "well, they need it . . .they are rich and famous and could get shot".

My response . . . what about my school age Granddaughter? . . does Paul McCartney (and this, by the way, is not "anti-Sir Paul)McCartney deserve that my granddaughter doesn't?

I'm a huge gun advocate . . .but we have a problem on our hands here.

My other question . . . that seems to stop them in their tracks . . . "where were you in 1970 when Terry Cushinberry put these 100 pieces of #4 shot in me from 25 feet and put my sister, hit in the center of the face, in a coma for 3 days?"

They mumble . . . they shuffle their feet . . .they are clueless.

I'm of a mind that we need to do something . . . but the idea that making guns illegal will reduce gun violence is las likely to succeed as the 1964 "War on Drugs" has been in eradicating Marijuana from the American landscape.

We don't think and discuss anymore . . . we argue and degrade.

Until the problem that starts at home begins to be solved at home . . . the proposed solutions will be akin to trying to hold balloons underwater in a bathtub.

Emotional maturity . . . parenting and a cognitive ability to associate the current actions with future consequences . . . . is a start . . . same why I had to teach 2 teenage sons why screwing in cars could be a problem.

Given the nature of the political and societal landscape . . . . two things occur to me . . .

1) I think a solution is going to be elusive.

2) I'm damn glad I am not in high school or spending time at a mall.

They'll continue to scatter Burger King wrappers . . . folks will continue to die and we'll continue the circular logic argument.

The debris field comment is just noting that the marches and gatherings that are on the same side as the CPUSA and other groups, leave a mess behind like a rock concert.

When Glenn Beck, like him or not, had an event the same place it was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. A point of pride for people who want to be thought of as responsible. Several other events show the same pattern.

It's not universal, by all means. But it's a deliberate statement on the part of some "right wing" groups to show a difference between themselves, and people who are left wing wannabe revolutionaries.

That's not to say every fellow in a Che t-shirt doesn't clean up after himself. Not all Muslims are terrorists, not all etc. Ever.

But in large groups, unless it's a point of pride for that group... you get messes. How many out of 50,000 are slobs? How much credit do we give them for throwing their leftovers near the pile?

I Remember the last time Grateful Dead played Colorado.
I was there, in Telluride.
Everybody was worried about the "Druggies".
After the 3-day concert, the Dead Heads filed thru town, picking up so much trash the place was cleaner than before the concert.

Sure looked better on paper than the Bluegrass Festivals. with towns for 50 miles with full "drunk tanks".
