Why are we even hearing about subpoenaed bank records? It's called leaks from a corrupt investigation. These are politically motivated leaks designed to harm the Trump administration. Don't for a second doubt the fact that this is being leaked right when Mueller has egg stuck all over his face. This is just more egg on his face as far as I'm concerned. The FBI is leaking like a rotten wooden boat!

What if it's a leak (of fake news) from inside the WH?

Interesting. IIRC from one of the Clancy books, a common way to do this is to print multiple copies of a classified document which is likely to be leaked, slightly altering the text in each of them. You record who gets which copy. When a leak shows up, you compare it to the altered versions and you then know the source of the leak.

Institutional Bias – Mueller Top Deputy Praises Sally Yates Insubordination of President Trump
Dec 5, 2017

More evidence of the institutional bias amid the top-tier of the FBI and DOJ surfaces today when Judicial Watch receives emails sent from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s top deputy Andrew Weissmann to former DOJ head Sally Yates.

On the night Acting Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates refused to uphold the President Trump travel and VISA restrictions Andrew Weissmann (pictured below) praised her insubordination and thanked her for undermining the President:

Sally Yates was fired that night for her refusal to defend the administration travel and VISA restrictions. Andrew Weissmann is the top deputy for Robert Mueller’s current Russian Election Conspiracy investigation.

quote:

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released two productions (335 pages and 44 pages) of Justice Department (DOJ) documents showing strong support by top DOJ officials for former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates’ refusal to enforce President Trump’s Middle East travel ban executive order. In one email, Andrew Weissmann, one of Robert Mueller’s top prosecutors and formerly the Obama-era Chief of the Justice Department’s Criminal Fraud Section, applauds Yates writing: “I am so proud. And in awe. Thank you so much. All my deepest respects.”

Judicial Watch obtained the documents through a May 2017 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the Justice Department failed to respond to a February FOIA request seeking Yates’ emails from her government account (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-00832)) for the time period she served as Acting Attorney General for President Trump.

The emails, several sent from official Justice Department email addresses, show strong support for Yates, who was fired for disobeying a direct order from the President:

- Thomas Delahanty, then the United States Attorney for Maine wrote: “You are my hero.”

- Liz Aloi, a career service employee and Chief of the Justice Department’s Special Financial Investigations Unit told Yates she was “Inspirational and heroic.”

- Emily Gray Rice, then the U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire and an 0bama appointee said: “AG Yates, thank you, as always, for making us proud. It is truly an honor to work for you.”

- 0bama appointee Barbara McQuade, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan told Yates, “Thank you for your courage and leadership. This is wonderful news.”

- DOJ Civil Division Appellate Attorney Jeffrey Clair wrote: “Thank you AG Yates. I’ve been in civil/appellate for 30 years and have never seen an administration with such contempt for democratic values and the rule of law. The President’s order is an unconstitutional embarrassment and I applaud you for taking a principled stand against defending it.”

“This is an astonishing and disturbing find. Andrew Weisman, a key prosecutor on Robert Mueller’s team, praised 0bama DOJ holdover Sally Yates after she lawlessly thwarted President Trump,” stated Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton. “How much more evidence do we need that the Mueller operation has been irredeemably compromised by anti-Trump partisans? Shut it down.”

I heard all of this crap going on in these investigations compared to a cheap spy novel this morning. I have to say, it sure does read like that.

It was compared to a coup quite a while back. I think that was pretty accurate, and they haven't been defeated yet. These are people who are literally subverting our government. They deserve punishment fitting of that crime.

Snips from remarks by President Trump prior to his Cabinet meeting today, link below:

quote:

I’m especially thrilled to report that the Senate passed massive tax cuts and reform. You know about that very well. You’ve covered it — for the most part — accurately, which is surprising for you folks, but that’s okay. (Laughter.) We’re on the verge of a historic victory that cuts taxes for the middle class, for businesses; brings back, probably, an excess of $4 trillion. As you know, we’ve been saying $2.5 trillion for years. Well, that number has greatly expanded. And we’ll be bringing back an excess of $4 trillion. It will be put to work in our country. There will be a lot of jobs being brought back with that money. Right now that money is being spent overseas. It’s not going to be spent overseas anymore.

The House and Senate are now negotiating the final bill, and I cannot wait to sign these giant tax cuts and reforms. I mentioned tax cuts, but it’s also reforms. But I’m looking forward to signing it. It will be the largest tax cuts, by far, in the history of our country.

We’ll be bringing the business tax from 35 all the way down to 20. At 35, it’s the highest in the industrialized world. At 20, we’re on the very low side, so we’ll be very competitive. You look at China, it’s 15 percent. Other countries are 18 percent. Some are 23, 24 percent. The average is actually, of the primary competitors, is actually 23 percent. So we’ll be pretty much below the average, and we’ll be able to compete.

And despite all of that, and despite — before we even get this massive injection — we have a stock market that has hit record highs 81 times since our election victory — 81 times. It’s at a new high right now.

Unemployment is at a 17-year low. Very shortly it’s going to be at a 19-year low. We think the numbers are going to continue to go down. And we’re also getting into the pool of the 100 million people that are not working. That pool is now coming back. As you know, that’s not considered in the low employment numbers, which means we have a lot of people that want to get to work, and that will be working.

Consumer confidence is at a 17-year high. We’ve created nearly 2 million jobs. Think of that — 2 million jobs since Election Day. That’s based on consumer confidence. That’s based on enthusiasm. Every enthusiasm poll, especially for business enthusiasm and job enthusiasm, is at an all-time high.

...But to get it going the way I really want, where we have GDP getting up to 4, 5, and even 6 percent — because I think that’s possible. If you look back in your notes, you’ll say when I said 4 percent, people said that would be years. Well, it’s turned out that I’m right because without the hurricanes this last quarter, we would have hit 4 percent. At 3.3 percent, which was adjusted previously — this is far beyond what anybody thought it would be at. So we’re at 3.3 percent GDP. I see no reason why we don’t go to 4, 5, and even 6 percent. And I don’t want to go beyond that because then it will be criticized if we don’t hit it.

But every time we go up one point, just so you understand, one point means $2.5 trillion, means 10 million jobs. So one point in GDP is an incredible statement. $2.5 trillion for each point, 10 million jobs for each point. And I think we’re going to be going up a lot of points.

...So we’re in a great period in this country because jobs are coming back, unemployment is low, business has never been stronger. But we have a military that we have to build. I want to thank General Mattis for doing such a great job with respect to ISIS. He’s knocked the hell out of them. Of course I’ve made it possible with what I’ve let you do, I think. (Laughter.) Wouldn’t you say? But he has done a fantastic job.

He and the military have done a fantastic job with ISIS. They’re essentially knocked out of Syria, knocked out of Iraq. That’s the good news. The bad news — they go all over the place. And I’ll tell you where we don’t want them: We don’t want them here. We don’t want them in our country. Tell them to stay wherever the hell they are. We don’t want them coming back into our country. They do go back into some countries. We don’t want them going into our country. So we’re watching that closely.

Glad to see that Trump is finally letting the law take effect that moves our embassy to Jerusalem. A law that enjoyed overwhelming support from dems, but was lawfully delayed by successive presidents.

I wonder...if Trump came out in favor of oxygen, would liberals hold their breath?

Disclaimer #1: this is not necessarily about our President, but I didn't know a better thread to post it because it's a commentary on the current state of politics (and political bullshit) in our nation. And society at large.

Disclaimer #2: I am not pro (nor am I anti) Franken. This is simply something that came into my mind as I watched the news tonight, and Franken was the topic du jour.

begin rant:

So. I'm in the basement, doing my daily 1,000 meter row on the rowing machine. Fox news is on, muted, with my iTunes blaring for motivation. The banner on-screen: "Franken pressured to resign due to sexual misconduct allegations".

SO??

It's an ALLEGATION. I don't care who the target is - come up with an allegation and you have piss in the wind as far as I'm concerned. I don't like my neighbors across the street. I can ALLEGE that they are trafficking Russian sex slaves through their household, and that they should move out because of it.

Are they? Nah, probably not. But I don't like them, and I can say whatever I want about them to get what I want, right?

THIS is our political climate today.

Again, I could give a rat's fart about Franken personally, but I hope he stands up and says FU(K YOU to everyone telling him he needs to resign because of ALLEGATIONS. "FU(K YOU, and take me to court to PROVE it happened, THEN we'll talk about resignation."

Someone needs to remind these ass-hats that allegations aren't worth a shit - that's what court, and "beyond a reasonable doubt", is all about. Want results? PROVE something. This "sexual misconduct allegation" thing is getting way out of hand these days, and I see it snowballing rapidly into all sorts of other bad things once it gets legitimized by people actually giving in, and resigning, because people allege that something may have happened 40 years ago, if their memory serves correctly.

end rant.

These DEMOCRAT senators have all publicly called for Franken to resign:

Booker
Cortez Masto
Baldwin
Bennet
Brown
Cantwell
Carper
Casey
Gillibrand
Donnelly
Durbin
Feinstein
Harris
Hassan
Heitkamp
Hirono
Leahy
McCaskill
Markey
Merkley
Murray
Stabenow
Warren
Wyden
Duckworth
Heinrich
King
Murphy
Peters
Pelosi
Sanders
Schumer
Tester
Udall

There is "something" so toxic about Franken that these critters are desperately scrambling to avoid his vortex when he goes under (tomorrow, it's being reported).

If it was JUST allegations, well, you wouldn't see the D'rats abandoning ship with such gusto.

Just an opinion.

BTW, I hope y'all are paying attention: Congress is being gutted (many of them - D and R - are self-deporting!) right before our eyes.

Thank you, Mr. President; yet another campaign promise being fulfilled.

Justice Department officials are reading through "over 10,000 texts" between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Department of Justice officials said they are in the process of going through the texts so they can hand them over to the House Intelligence Committee.

Justice Department officials say the process of reading and redacting the texts could take "weeks," and that the thousands of text messages between Strzok and Page span over "several months."

Strzok last briefed the committee on Dec. 5, 2016. But within months of that session House Intelligence Committee investigators were contacted by an informant saying that there was "documentary evidence" that Strzok was purportedly obstructing the House probe into the dossier.

After these revelations, the Justice Department has contacted the office of House Speaker Paul Ryan to establish a date for Strzok's appearance before House Intelligence Committee staff, along with two other witnesses long sought by the Nunes team.

In Franken's case, it is more that just an allegation. He seemed quite proud of himself in his picture. It also wasn't all that long ago, not that that should really matter. Proof should matter.

You are correct in the Franken case, there is photographic evidence and his near-admittance (that's what I get for reading the banner with the TV on mute). But in cases like Roy Moore (the AL, I think, senate candidate)...it's nothing but allegations. His isn't the only case like that either - there's the old black guy whose name I can't remember (who, by the way, the black-rights folks are now upset about him resigning and Pelosi has flipped her position on the man completely)..."allegations" are enough, it seems, to convict and completely bypass the "innocent until proven guilty" basis of our legal system.

So many Dems are backing the Franken oust, I suspect, so they can build the case of "allegations are a conviction - we did it here, we'll do it to you too". Sure, on the face it's "he did a bad thing", but they're two (or more) faced and there's a deeper motive. Mark my words. It's not just about Al, it's about being able to convict, in the court of public opinion, someone you don't like through use of simple allegations. They're trying to build precedent.

If it was about sexual misconduct...they'd go after slick Willie Clinton. Talk about "more than an allegation"! But...crickets on that front. Hmmmm....

It's politics. It has NOTHING to do with sexual activity. Pure. Politics.

But as noted above - the swamp seems to be self-draining. I'll take it!!

The mother of all Hail Mary's?

Possible; the dems are desperate at this point - NOTHING they have tried since the day Trump announced his candidacy has slowed him down, and HE is now comfortably driving the narrative.

I'll stick with my theory stated above: There is something extremely toxic about Franken, just beyond our vision, something considerably worse than "just" groping, something so heinous (and provable) the Dems feel it'll drag them into his abyss if they don't distance themselves.

Interesting times, to be sure.

there's the old black guy whose name I can't remember

John Conyers, longest tenure in Congress and (formerly) one of The Big Dogs, a real powerhouse politically.

His rapid resignation (coinciding with Pelosi's full-throated public support to outright condemnation in the span of a mere four days) also, I believe, equates to something beyond simply being an alleged lecher.

Regarding allegations, just maybe #everybodyknew, just like with Weinstein, so the Dems know it's more than allegations. Them ignoring it while it was happening will, of course, be ignored by their also-complicit propaganda arm, the MSM.

I don't know if it has already been mentioned here, but I have read that maybe Conyers and Franken are sacrificial lambs to develop a mindset that the Trump accusers must be believed for impeachment. They are already turning on Slick Willie.
