President Trump Makes Unannounced Trip To Dover To Honor Fallen Navy SEAL
By Sundance, 02/01/2017

President Donald Trump made an unscheduled and unannounced trip to Dover Air Base to honor fallen Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens. Owens was the first military casualty since President Trump was sworn into office.

President Trump’s trip to Delaware’s Dover Air Base was shrouded in secrecy. It was not on the president’s daily schedule. A small group of journalists traveled with Trump on the condition that the visit was not reported until his arrival. He was joined by his daughter, Ivanka.

Chief Special Warfare Operator William “Ryan” Owens, 36, of Peoria, Illinois was killed during a raid on an al-Qaeda camp in Yemen on Saturday. Owens’ family is said to have asked that his return be kept private. Continue reading -->

FBI Investigate Berkeley Mayor For Inciting Milo Riots
By Sean Adl-Tabatabai, 02/03/2017

The FBI has opened an investigation into Mayor Jesse Arreguin who ordered police to stand down during the Milo riots at UC Berkeley on Wednesday. [emphasis in original - FB]

Domestic terrorists started fires, used pepper spray and brutally assaulted audience members who tried to attend a Milo Yiannopoulos event scheduled at UC Berkeley that evening.

CNN – by the way, is in full propaganda damage control mode over this. Check out the CNN app notification popup:

As fires raged and Trump supporters were assaulted with shovels and pepper spray by masked anarchists, the mayor of Berkeley, CA, Jesse Arreguin, allegedly ordered SWAT and campus police to stand down.

SUBJ: Breaking news: Donald Trump cures cancer!

The resulting headlines:

_The New York Times_ “TRUMP DECLARES WAR ON CANCER DOCTORS”

_USA TODAY_ “CANCER CURE WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE, MANY SCIENTISTS SAY”

_FORBES_ “TRUMP’S LATEST ACTION SENDS MEDICAL STOCKS CRASHING”

_NATIONAL REVIEW_ “WAS CANCER REALLY ALL THAT BAD??”

_The Washington Post_ “TRUMP’S MEDDLING MAY HAVE UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES

– ONCOLOGISTS HARDEST HIT”

Shamelessly stolen from Ace Of Spades HQ website at http://ace.mu.nu/.

They’re having a contest there to see who can concoct the funniest headline. The entries in the comments are priceless.

Back, oh, days ago, the Barry Regime had daily meetings with the Press to tell them the word & phrase of the day, a committee that passed out the word, to be repeated on Journo-list.

Every day the stuff to parrot and the stuff to ignore was handed down from the mountain to the loyal acolytes.

It's a major reason the news has been so uniform for the last 8 years. CNN no longer had to copy CBS, etc.. They were both handed the stories to sell and the catch phrase of the day.

It seems that group is still operational.

And as honest as ever.

Stunning Fake News – CNN Promotes Conspiracy Theory That Milo Organized Berkeley Protests Against Himself
By Sundance, 02/03/2017

CNN has continued to lead the way in manufactured news cycles through the past two years. However, last night on Don Lemon’s show they took fake news broadcasting to new levels of ridiculousness.

During a segment with Robert Reich, Don Lemon and Reich promoted a conspiracy theory that Milo Yiannopoulous actually manufactured the Berkeley protests in an effort to shut down his own speech:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q14Ujm0PYbE

quote:

Robert Reich […] Don, and I want to be very, very clear. I was there for part of last night, and I know what I saw. And those people were not Berkeley students. Those were outsiders, agitators. I’ve never seen them before. There’s rumors that they actually were right-wingers, they were part of a kind of a group that were organized and were ready to create the kind of tumult and danger you saw that forced the police to cancel the event.

Don Lemon […] “You think this was a strategy by Yiannopoulos or right-wingers to — they put this on so they could — in an effort to show that, you know, there’s no free speech on a college campus like UC Berkeley?”

Robert Reich […] I wouldn’t bet against it, Don. You know, again, I saw these people. They were very — they all looked almost paramilitary. They were not from the campus, and I’ve heard, you know, again, I don’t want to say factually, but I heard that there was some relationship there between these people and the right-wing, and the right-wing movement that is affiliated with Breitbart News.

Don Lemon starts the segment by calling Milo a "right-wing white supremacist" - they're sure pushing that (quite obviously false) meme very, um, diligently.

Also notice the deliberate reference to Breitbart; this is red meat for CNN's viewers to not only damage Milo's credibility, but also a transparent tactic to tie the riots to Steve Bannon, and thus to President Trump.

More tinder!

I'd say I'm shocked by the outrageous content of this video but I can't, because I'm not.

Who owns CNN?

I seem to have missed the grounds for the case. They mentioned a claim that states had been "harmed" by the travel restriction. Is that really supposed to be the legal argument? Does an executive order have to cause zero harm to anyone? Almost anything could be found unconstitutional using that rational. Did I miss something?

So as a refresher on Robert Reich (i.e., know thine enemy...) I've done a little investigating:

quote:

Robert Reich
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Political party
Democratic

Residence
Berkeley, California, U.S.

Robert Reich is an American political commentator, professor, author, and conspiracy theorist. He served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter and was Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997.

Reich is currently Chancellor's Professor of Public Policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. [emphasis mine - FB]

He has also been a contributing editor of The New Republic, The American Prospect (also chairman and founding editor), Harvard Business Review, The Atlantic, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Reich is a political commentator on programs including Hardball with Chris Matthews, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, [and] CNBC's Kudlow & Company.

He was appointed a member of President-elect Barack Obama's economic transition advisory board.

He is also chairman of Common Cause[.]

Source, more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Reich

So, besides the other impressive leftist bona fides outlined above, who/what is Common Cause?

quote:

Common Cause
Common Cause is a nonpartisan [bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha! - FB] public interest group based in Washington, D.C. with chapters in 35 states.

Source, more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Cause

Check out Common Cause's landing page on their website; the bulk of it dedicated to portraying Senator Jeff Sessions as evil incarnate: http://www.commoncause.org/

quote:

Call your senators: Stop Jeff Sessions

The Department of Justice's mission is simply too important to turn over to someone like Jeff Sessions. Call your senators today and demand that they oppose his nomination.

And then there's this:

quote:

Investigate Donald Trump's conflicts of interest

Donald Trump is refusing to adequately address his unprecedented conflicts of interest and put his assets into a blind trust.

And this:

quote:

Two Weeks In and the Swamp is Getting Deeper

And this:

quote:

Trump's CNN Freeze-Out Threatens Press Freedom

And this:

quote:

Two weeks in and [Donald Trump] is embracing the corruption he campaigned to destroy.

And plenty more.

Non-partisan my ass, but I didn't actually have to do the research I did to know this - Reich's hateful, inflammatory statements during the interview on CNN was evidence aplenty.

Attaboy, Mr. Reich; I'm sure your handlers are pleased with your performance.

I bet Milo would say they know he's supreme at something. : )

Milo is deliberately provocative. He speaks truth to power. This is in stark contrast to the female psycho screaming F*&^ you! at the police for keeping her from murdering all in her path.

Milo has it correct. The left calls everyone a Nazi. They say it's ok to punch a nazi. They mean it's ok to use violence against all who oppose them... Just like the nazis did. ( who were leftists... no matter what you were taught in school )

Trump Short Circuits Washington
Column: The open war between the establishment and President Trump
By Matthew Continetti, 02/03/2017

...The same forces that opposed Trump during the Republican primary and general election are trying to break his presidency before it is a month old.

...The message this establishment is sending to Trump? Conform or be destroyed.

The blasé manner in which the media describes opposition to Trump from within the bureaucracy is stunning. "Federal workers turn to encryption to thwart Trump," read one Politico headline. "An anti-Trump resistance movement is growing within the U.S. government," says Vanity Fair. "Federal workers are in regular consultation with recently departed Obama-era political appointees about what they can do to push back against the new president's initiatives," reports the Washington Post. No one who professes support for democracy and the rule of law can read these words without feeling alarmed. The civil service exists to support the chief executive—not the other way around. And yet, when White House press secretary Sean Spicer said that career officials who disagree with White House policy are free to resign, the collective response in Washington was outrage—at Spicer!

Not only are there two Americas. There are two governments: one elected and one not, one that alternates between Republicans and Democrats and one that remains, decade after decade, stubbornly liberal, contemptuous of Congress, and resistant to change. It is this second government and its allies in the media and the Democratic Party that are after President Trump, that want him driven from office before his term is complete. You think I exaggerate. But consider this: When a former Defense official who teaches at Georgetown Law School takes to Foreign Policy to propose "3 Ways to Get Rid of President Trump Before 2020," and when one of those ways is "a military coup, or at least a refusal by military leaders to obey certain orders," we are in unknown and extremely unsettling territory.

Congress is doing its best to live up to the public's dismal opinion of it. Democrats on Capitol Hill are behaving erratically, hysterically, boycotting committee meetings to approve Cabinet officials, threatening to filibuster a qualified and highly regarded Supreme Court pick because Mitch McConnell won a wager with President Obama, and saying they will impeach President Trump over policy differences.

On Trial: Why Trump’s Immigration Ban Will Win Over Seattle Judge’s Nationwide Order
By Robert Barnes | 10:55 pm, February 3rd, 2017

Opening Statement
On Friday, a Boston federal judge issued a 21 page decision debunking the arguments against Trump’s Executive Order suspending migration from certain countries pending further review. Later that same day, a Seattle federal judge who has been making the news lately (and not usually for the most flattering of reasons), declared his oral intention to sign an order limiting some aspects of the executive order. In the courtroom, whose position is likely to ultimately win?

Just a quick review of the two written orders can tell you which one is likely to win. The Boston judge cited a wide range of precedents for his decision in his detailed written order. The Seattle judge issued a short order devoid of almost any reference to any precedent, which is the “evidence” for lawyers on the law. Add in comments made by the Seattle judge verbally, and if any aspect of that is correct, the Seattle judge’s opinion will lose, and Trump’s position will win.

...Closing Argument
Second-guessing Trump’s decision is for elections, not judges. The Supreme Court long ago rejected such second-guessing as impermissible. The Boston’s judge’s thoughtful and deliberate decision follows the precedents, as the law compels. The Seattle judge’s decision tries to substitute for the legislative branches, which the law condemns.

I'd love for someone to sit people (such as that "professor" - what a peach) down and ask them point blank: "what makes them a nazi? No profanity, no hyperbole - but tell me, rationally, what makes them a nazi?"

I bet one of two things would happen:

1. Crickets
2. More screaming profanity

1, because they just...don't...know. It's what they're told to parrot, so they do, and they don't understand (rationally) why. 2, because...well, they're told to parrot it, so they do.

Global Warming is About Destroying Capitalism?
By Martin Armstrong, 02/03/2017

A shocking statement was made by a United Nations official Christiana Figueres at a news conference in Brussels. Figueres admitted that the Global Warming conspiracy set by the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, of which she is the executive secretary, has a goal not of environmental activists to save the world from ecological calamity, but to destroy capitalism. She said very casually:

quote:

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”

She even restated that goal ensuring it was not a mistake:

quote:

“This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

I was invited to a major political dinner in Washington with the former Chairman of Temple University since I advised the University with respect to its portfolio. We were seated at one of those round tables with ten people. Because we were invited from a university, they placed us with the heads of the various environmental groups. They assumed they were in friendly company and began speaking freely. Dick Fox, my friend and Chairman of Temple, began to lead them on to get the truth behind their movement.

Questions Remain As Shifting Narrative, Conflicting Testimony Indicates Cover Up in Quebec Terror Incident
By William Craddick, 02/03/2017

Witness statements and reports which conflict with the Canadian government’s account of what occurred during the tragic January 29th, 2017 Quebec terror attack at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City raise questions about what actually happened the night of the tragedy. The evidence indicates that contrary to the official narrative, there was more than one gunman and multiple weapons were captured in the possession of arrestees. Media outlets also were so eager to claim the incident was caused by white supremacists that they were fooled into reporting false information from parody news accounts on twitter.

^ This piece is fairly in depth, and well documented. PM Trudeau, specifically, is taken to task in the piece for obfuscating the facts of the case in an effort to alter the narrative.

I read this morning a comment from a person claiming to be a Canadian citizen stating that the media in Canada is state-run; I don't yet know if this is, indeed, fact.

I mentioned earlier in this thread that on the day of the shooting the "facts" of the case seemed to morph 180 degrees throughout the day.

Very interesting...

IMHO being mean is purely recreational. It is fine to play the righteous bastard but you risk squandering your political capital if get one little thing wrong because of all the resentment you have unnecessarily cultivated.

If you've got substance, you don't need to be mean. You just need to be clear. Using mean, 'morally outraged' tones tend not to clear political arguments, but to muddy them. Lose the mean and polish your arguments instead and you've got a win- win instead of a lose- lose.

This applies also to incoherent, screaming professors who protest all crazy-like too. This is why many in the left are not protesting and are not smashing Starbucks windows for free organic coffee.

IMHO the refugee ban could still have 99.9% of its original punch with very minor modifications to edit the mean out. I think those edits would also slightly strengthen the order.
