The problem is, he said he was going to do it. If he doesn't, then he's another lying politician, and his campaign was built on lies, regardless of what he accomplishes. (you know the joke, "you shag one goat")

And.

If she walks, that sets the precedent that you can get away with everything that she has gotten away with. Her husband changed the public's perception of lying under oath - hey, it's the new norm.

You can't tell your kids not to steal if they see you committing embezzlement, and nothing bad comes of it.

Every generation (or every year?) the bar gets lower and lower. What was wrong 2 years ago is today's MO. All of us, myself included, who stand by and let evil folks commit evil right in front of our faces are just as much to blame as are the criminals.

HE doesn't even have to be the one driving the chariot. A president doesn't do everything that a president gets credit for. Delegation of authority. It only takes a couple sentences and no more time out of his day.

The problem is, he said he was going to do it. If he doesn't...

The problem is, it's the media (as always) harping on what Trump is or isn't going to do. Can you cite a source that gives the exact questions, in full, he was asked in regard to Clinton, and his exact answers in full?

Another problem: he's not even president yet. You're predicting the future, based on what the media is telling you, and taking him to task for what he hasn't done, which is interesting because he's not in a position to do ANYTHING yet.

Another problem: you forget that Trump plays three-dimensional chess. How many times during the campaign did the naysayers, media, never-Trumpers think they had him painted into a corner, only to find out he was out-strategizing them 37 moves in advance. The guy is, literally and figuratively, a genius. His current statements on Clinton, considering he's still president-elect, could be well-thought-out strategy for when he's actually in office.

Now all that said: I want Clinton (and others) prosecuted, too, and if he reneges on this promise I'll be mighty disappointed.

In the meantime, let's give the guy a chance to actually take up residence in the White House before we blast his record as president, eh?

Personally, I think he has a few cards up his sleeve...

Best,

Mike - the fog lights are the factory projectors. All I did was change bulbs. Owners manual for what bulb type, then I searched for something in a 2500-3000k color temp. I put bulbs in my Ram and in my Jeep; I think the Jeep's are yellow-er, making them the 2500s, and the Ram's are white-r making them the 3000k. If you google "kelvin scale" you'll get the color temp reference guide; 4300 or so is daylight. Higher #s are more blue; lower numbers are more yellow.

We now return to your regularly scheduled politics.

I hold hope that Trump is indeed keeping cards up his sleeve. You don't get where he is in life - president-elect notwithstanding, I'm just talking business here - by being lucky. You gotta be shrewd. Smart. Analytical. And make a habit of outwitting your opponent(s).

All of which we've seen demonstrated in spades during the election.

I know that's why *I* voted for the man.

*My guess is that he said that to keep Obama from pardoning her! This is the sort of thing that will let him pass on her pardon by saying that Trump agreed to not prosecute so there is no need for a pardon. Jan 20 Trump administration can do what he wants.

Madduck, great to see your name pop up! Hope you're well. Love your profile pic of you, Peter Fonda and the FBRAT Uly; that was quite a day (and adventure). I didn't realize we both have '04 Heritage Softail Classics; see my profile pic.

I'm inclined to agree with your comment:

My guess is that he said that to keep Obama from pardoning her!

Trump's no dummy, and in typical fashion he has surrounded himself with the best minds in the business (the business, in this case, being high-level politics). I can't imagine him (or AG Sessions) giving Clinton a pass on her treasonous behavior. But...he's got to bide his time for a bit, and his statements re: Clinton this week very well could be to help buy him that time and, as you say, to neuter 0bama.

Happy Thanksgiving from me 'n D. : ): )

Giving Thanks: Donald Trump’s Top Ten
By G. Murphy Donovan. Nov. 24, 2016

There are many things that can be said about the election of Donald Trump and most will probably get said before 20 January 17. Beyond an unlikely candidacy and an even more surprising election, Trump, long before inauguration, is an overachiever on many fronts. Indeed, a “Reelect Trump” bumper sticker was spotted in Easton, Maryland just a day after the election. Here are the top ten things Trump has already accomplished before his first term begins:

Carrier Air Conditioning Announces They Are Moving To Mexico – 1,400 Indianapolis Jobs Lost
By Sundance, Feb. 12, 2016

There were gasps of anger and disbelief. There was yelling. At least one person in the crowd of Carrier employees shouted things that cannot be written here.

The employees had just been told the heating, cooling, air conditioning, and refrigeration company was relocating its Indianapolis plant [watch the video - production AND distribution - FB] to Monterrey, Mexico:

quote:

Statement from Carrier:

“This move is intended to address the challenges we continue to face in a rapidly changing HVAC industry, with the continued migration of the HVAC industry to Mexico, including our suppliers and competitors, and ongoing cost and pricing pressures driven, in part, by new regulatory requirements, Relocating our operations to a region where we have existing infrastructure and a strong supplier base will allow us to operate more cost effectively so that we can continue to produce high-quality HVAC products that are competitively positioned while continuing to meet customer needs.” (link: http://www.theindychannel.com/news/local-news/carr ier-relocating-indy-plant-to-mexico)

In a statement, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett said the company’s surprise announcement was without warning and incredibly disappointing.

Consumer Confidence Climbs To Six Month High After Trump Election – Biggest Jump in 4 years
By Sundance, Nov. 24, 2016

Consumer sentiment, confidence in the economic outlook of individuals, has jumped up over 8% since Donald Trump’s election victory. The gauge of expectations six months from now gained 8.4 points to 85.2, the biggest jump in four years, from a two-year low of 76.8 in October.

quote:

(Via Bloomberg) Consumer confidence rose more than previously reported to a six-month high in November, showing Americans became more optimistic about their finances and the economy after Donald Trump won the presidential election.

The University of Michigan said Wednesday that its final index of sentiment rose to 93.8 from 87.2 in October, after a preliminary reading of 91.6 that reflected pre-election views. The split was stark between respondents in the month’s survey before and after the Nov. 8 vote, with sentiment rising 8.2 points in the post-election group from the pre-election cohort. I have grave doubts about Trump.

But. He hasn't doubled the debt. More debt than 220 years of presidents before him.

He hasn't toured the world apologizing for America and lying with every breath.

He hasn't fired the responsible Generals & Admirals and replaced them with blatant butt kissing minions.

He hasn't cut the military while starting new wars without permission from congress.

He hasn't illegally taken on the order of a Billion dollars from Arab oil sheiks.

Thus...... so far Donald is a far superior leader than Barack.

President-Elect Donald J. Trump Selects Kathleen Troia “KT” McFarland to Serve as Deputy National Security Advisor and Donald F. McGahn as Assistant to the President and White House Counsel

For Immediate Release

November 25, 2016

(New York, NY) – President-elect Donald J. Trump today announced his selection of Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland to serve as Deputy National Security Advisor and Donald F. McGahn to serve as Assistant to the President and White House Counsel.

“I am proud that KT has once again decided to serve our country and join my national security team,” said President-elect Trump. “She has tremendous experience and innate talent that will complement the fantastic team we are assembling, which is crucial because nothing is more important than keeping our people safe.”

“The American people chose Donald J. Trump to lead them for a reason,” said Ms. McFarland. “He has the courage, brilliance and energy to Make America Great Again, and nobody has called foreign policy right more than President-elect Trump, and he gets no credit for it. I’m honored and humbled that he has asked me to be part of his team.”

"In asking KT McFarland to become his Deputy National Security Advisor, President-elect Trump has brought to the top ranks of his Administration one of our country's most experienced, informed, and wise foreign policy and national security experts" said Joe Lieberman, former U.S. Senator from Connecticut. "KT and General Mike Flynn will form a very strong leadership team at the National Security Council. Beyond KT's professional skills, I can speak to her personal character strengths as well because I have known her as a family friend ever since she had the good judgement to marry Alan McFarland who was my classmate at college and law school. KT has great personal values. She is a woman of honor, compassion, and patriotism."

“As a friend and colleague, I’ve watched KT’s depth of knowledge and understanding grow from her days as a college student on Dr. Kissinger’s White House staff to her work at the Pentagon during the Reagan Administration, to become one of our country’s most insightful national security analysts,” said Hon. Robert C. “Bud” McFarlane, President Reagan’s National Security Advisor.

Ms. McFarland is among the nation's foremost national security experts and is currently serving as FOX News' national security analyst.

Ms. McFarland held national security posts in the Nixon, Ford and Reagan Administrations: as an aide to Dr. Henry Kissinger, member of the Senate Armed Services Committee staff senior speechwriter to Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger and later Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

In 1985, Ms. McFarland received the Defense Department's highest civilian honor, the Distinguished Service Award, for her work in the Reagan Administration. She ran for New York’s U.S. Senate seat in 2006. The Clare Booth Luce Policy Institute named her Woman of the Year at the CPAC conference in 2015.

Ms. McFarland received a B.A. from George Washington University, a M.A. from Oxford University, and completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology PhD program (all but dissertation) with concentrations on nuclear weapons, China, and the Soviet Union. Ms. McFarland is a senior policy fellow for the ACU Foundation Statesmanship and Diplomacy Center, a board member of the Jamestown Foundation, and a distinguished advisor to the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

In addition to adding Ms. McFarland to the national security team, President-elect Trump is also pleased to add Mr. McGahn as Assistant to the President and White House Counsel.

Mr. McGahn has a distinguished legal career that spans two decades. Mr. McGahn served as general counsel for President-elect Trump’s campaign and currently on transition and will continue providing expert advice and counsel in the Trump-Pence Administration.

“Don has a brilliant legal mind, excellent character and a deep understanding of constitutional law,” said President-elect Trump. “He will play a critical role in our administration, and I am grateful that he is willing to serve our country at such a high-level capacity.”

“I am honored to continue advising President-elect Trump in the Trump-Pence Administration,” said Mr. McGahn. “President-elect Trump is a bold leader committed to draining the swamp in Washington and restoring economic prosperity and security. I look forward to serving the American public in this role.”

“Donald McGahn will make an excellent counsel to the president," said Ed Meese, Attorney General and Counselor to President Ronald Reagan. "Throughout his distinguished career as a lawyer and government official, he has dealt ably with the intersection between politics, government ethics, and the rule of law.”

“The Counsel to the President needs solid Washington experience, but also a serious prior relationship with the President that allows for candor, and a practical understanding of how government agencies function. It also is enormously useful to have a working knowledge of government ethics and election law. Donald McGahn possesses all these attributes and can serve President-elect Trump well,” said C. Boyden Gray, White House Counsel to President George H.W. Bush.

Mr. McGahn is currently a partner at Jones Day in Washington, DC, and has specialized in political law, including government ethics. He has successfully counseled and defended a wide range of clients including federal and state candidates, members of Congress, national and state political party committees, nonprofits and trade associations.

Mr. McGahn served as a member of the FEC for five years, during which he served as both chairman and vice chairman. He was named to the 2014 "Influencers 50" list in Campaigns & Elections magazine (November 18, 2013), and cited as "one of the most influential commissioners in the history of the FEC" and one with strong relationships on both sides of the aisle.

In addition, he served as general counsel for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) for nearly 10 years, where he counseled members of Congress regarding ethics.

Mr. McGahn earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a J.D. from Widener University.

Paradigm Shifts in National Security Apparatus
By Sundance, Nov. 24, 2016

Far away from the chaotic banter of political discourse, a small network of patriots have come together – yet few, if any, will ever elevate their mindset to notice the significance of their assembly.

Specifically, this Thanksgiving, we stand thankful for, and raise our glass toward, General James Mattis and General John Kelly. Both have joined ranks with Admiral Mike Rogers (NSA), General Michael Flynn (Nat Sec) and Representative Mike Pompeo (CIA) to unite behind President-Elect Donald Trump and stand the gap after a long 65 year void.

The last retired General to run the Department of Defense was George C Marshall in 1950-1951, and he was only brought in for one very specific year. Thereafter the DoD has been headed by various business and political officials, with a smattering of institutionally academic military leaders.

We have previously presented the outline of black hats and white hats within the various domestic law enforcement and national security discussions. However, seemingly invisible to all but those who are paying very close attention, is the dawning of a new security era focused on civic defense and national restoration.

The larger dose of joy comes not from waiting for the historic writing of this time; but rather to notice these exact moments when we are within them. [emphasis mine - FB]

With General Mattis as most likely Secretary of Defense, Michael Flynn as National Security Advisor, General John Kelly interviewed – potentially as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, a top-of-class West Point graduate in Mike Pompeo brought in to take over and undoubtedly purge the CIA, and a lame duck struggle breaking out over NSA with Admiral Mike Rogers, the implications are pretty obvious.

The white hats we have needed within the national security and intelligence departments are responding from a select group within the Defense Department.

Mounting evidence supports the ongoing thesis that DoD has actually seceded from the political elites; and with the election of President Donald Trump, they are poised on the horizon to reconstruct a nationalist-minded defense and security apparatus. This is the fundamental paradigm shift many have discussed, yet few imagined possible.

...We are living in the moments when history is made.

Enjoy this.

(Via Reuters) Wisconsin’s election commission said on Friday it had received petitions for a recount of votes in the presidential election from the Green Party campaign and another candidate and was planning to start the process.

“The Commission is preparing to move forward with a statewide recount of votes for President of the United States, as requested by these candidates,” Commission Administrator Michael Haas said in a statement on the agency’s website.

The move follows comments by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein earlier on Friday that her push for election recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania was aimed at assessing the integrity of the U.S. voting system, not at undermining Republican Donald Trump’s White House victory. ...Since launching the recount campaign on Wednesday, Stein has raised more than $5 million.

The Mysterious Case Of Jill Stein's Surging Recount Costs
By Tyler Durden, Nov. 25, 2016

Just yesterday we noted that Jill Stein was acting on behalf of Hillary Clinton to raise money for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. As we noted then, we continue to be astonished by the amount of money flowing into the fundraising campaign and would love to see which of Hillary's mega donors have spent the most on the effort...somehow we suspect this isn't just a "grassroots organizing" effort as Stein described it.

So, in less than 1 day, Jill Stein raised over $3,000,000, which is more than the $2,000,000 needed to force a recount in Wisconsin. While she attributed the accomplishment to "the power of grassroots organizing," we would tend to be a little more skeptical and would love to see exactly where those donations came from. Then again, maybe we're wrong and there really are just that many disaffected snowflakes out there willing to blow their money on an extreme long shot.

But, today a new mystery has emerged in Stein's fundraising efforts. Apparently, the more money she raises the more expensive the recount effort becomes. Courtesy of the Wayback Machine we have the following snapshots from her fundraising page over the past couple of days:

November 24, 2016 at 3:46AM - In the beginning, Stein figured she needed a total of $2,500,000 to fund her recount efforts. That figure included $2,200,000 for the actual filing fees and presumably another $300,000 for legal fees and other costs:

November 24, 2016 at 1:20PM - Then, just 12 hours later, after the cash just kept flowing in, Stein figured she needed at least another $2,000,000 as her fundraising goal was raised to $4,500,000 in total. Of course, the filing fees of $2,200,000 didn't change but the "attorney's fees" apparently surged by about 300% and the total costs of the effort skyrocketed to $6,000,000-$7,000,000:

November 25, 2016 at 6:11AM - Now, just this morning as Stein approaches $5,000,000 in total donations, her overall fundraising goal has surged once again and now stands at $7,000.000:
