A spokeswoman for The Times, Eileen Murphy, responded that the paper had not changed the arrangements for the meeting and was not aware it had been canceled until reading Mr. Trump’s Twitter posts. The company said that Mr. Trump’s team had asked on Monday to change the ground rules, but that the paper had declined.

“We did not change the ground rules at all and made no attempt to,’’ she said. “They tried to yesterday — asking for only a private meeting and no on-the-record segment, which we refused to agree to.”

She added: “In the end, we concluded with them that we would go back to the original plan of a small off-the-record session and a larger on-the-record session with reporters and columnists.”

I applaud Trump for reaching out using alternative methods. Just know that those methods include messages, real and fake, from other not so nice or bad individuals.

I also applaud his team for posting video's directly to youtube (ok I do have an account there), so no one media outlet controls the message or the edit of said message.

Maybe the ground rules should change to include (among other things), complete transcripts of meetings and interviews so the public knows what has and has not been cherry picked for specific propaganda related news items.

...and what would the point of an "off the record" meeting with the press serve?

I just spent an evening with a group of entitled Dems. I listened to conspiracy theories about the groups who funded Trump (Klan and White Supremacists) and how Russians had thrown the election and how he was going to deport all Muslims, Blacks and Hispanics.

I say silently as they stoked each other.

My opinion.

Fvck you guys.

The election is over.

Trump won.

If you hadn't of up the country he would not have stood a snowballs chance in hell.

Get over it whiners.

Ratbuell, even if the country became undeniably better the whiners would still be in denial.

The office I work in is 100% women supervision, including the administrator, managers and supervisors(except for my supervisor the token male of the group)The rest of the population is 85% female.
I had great difficulty November 9 keeping my mouth shut as the group of female managers were actually crying because women are not able to break the glass ceiling.

Off the record meetings with the president?

That is when the President calls people out for BS and puts them on notice. Smart people straighten up after such an encounter.

For the daily wire points?

1. He's not in office yet. He's not allowed to keep working at (and hand off control of) the multinational corporation in an organized manner? Also, Trump markets GOODS. The Clinton foundation collects donations. For...?

2. Family seems to do well running his company...and we "hired" him to make DC work, as a businessman. Ergo....

3. It's spending on infrastructure and jobs. Not lining pockets in DC.

4. Two things (hopefully we'll see the latter being the truth): he's pushing for unity and this is a good way to promote the message. And...it's an outstanding way to make BO and HRC feel safe until BO is out of power (and no longer able to pardon)...and then pounce.

5. That whole paragraph didn't include the key word. OBJECTIVE. Taking the press to task over upholding the principles of their very industry...as opposed to simply saying "you need to support me"...I find totally acceptable. "Do your job the right way, or you lose access to me".

6. Again, he's not president yet. Did he go after the cast "as president"? Or as a citizen saying "c'mon guys, that's pretty uncool". (I honestly don't know that one; I heard about the cast actions but haven't heard about his response). Personally, if he said it as a citizen and called out how inappropriate it was...I see no issue with it. Set the tone that you will respect the office, and you will respect the government. That will filter into the "respect the police and military" agenda that we MUST promote so cops stop getting executed. But it all starts with respect.

7. I'll give 'em that one.

I have my doubts that it's all Trump supporters though. Kelly doesn't exactly have friends on the left.

Vote fraud not enough to win?
Use your fraud to cast doubt on the enemy & try to kill the electoral college.

Did you think the news companies were biased before the election? Now there's zero reason left for them to pretend not to be propagandists.

And zero reason to believe anything at all at all from progressive sources. None. The shame isn't gone, it was never there. Facts & truth are a foreign language to the Faithful.

And now.... back to the Kardashian family.

Dead people take time to get to the polling stations.

And all the illegals have to feel that polling centers are a "safe place" for them.

I bet if the msm had clued the Hillary campaign in that it was going to go the way it did...they'd have seen to it that the cheating was done on time.

Now...Hillary herself has conceded to Trump. She did that the day after the election. That says to me it's over...yes?

Disclaimer: I'm not a snowflake so I may not understand how this stuff works...

Why is it that suddenly liberals are all up in arms that it might be possible to hack electronic voting machines. They were behind the big push for these machines after the Bush/Gore fiasco. Conservatives at the time, rightly so, pointed out the possibilities of fowl play back then, but their voices were drowned out by the disenfranchised snowflakes. I'm not sure if it's that they don't see forward more than two weeks, or can't remember what happened two weeks ago. I am quite certain that they are not guided by any sort of solid principles though. You just can't be that flexible in your wants if you are guided by principles.

You just have to wrap your head around the fact that the "media" is going to lie about Trump all day long, just as they are wiling to lie about Hillary all day long.

The difference is they lie for Hillary to obscure and deflect her crimes. And those crimes range from destruction of evidence to callous disregard for human life by putting highly classified documents out to be stolen with no security.

To make that simpler... If I have a list of people helping us, spies, ( a popular mcguffin in modern spy movies ) and I leave it in my hotel room while I go to dinner, I'm being stupidly careless. Doesn't matter if it's paper files in my briefcase or if it's on my phone. I left this information where it could be stolen, and if these spies are murdered because I was careless it's my fault. Morally, legally, and professionally.

So when Hillary left her documents that listed the source of the secret information our intelligence agencies reported to her, on an unsecured private server... that was hacked, according to the FBI! probably multiple times, when those sources, human beings trying to help us, are then captured and killed, it's Hillary's fault. Morally, legally, and professionally.

Don't expect CNN etc. to ever report these deaths. Maybe the Brits might, but mostly expect the trail of death behind Hillary to be unremarked.

Do I have a specific dead guy in mind? No, but since the cover up is ongoing, and the "media" wouldn't report it, the odds of folk being killed directly because of Hillary's desire to hide her wrongdoing are better than 1. ( sure thing. )

As to Trump.... it makes no difference if his cabinet choices are good or bad, they will be crucified by the "press". His ideas could be good or bad, same deal.

And on the rare occasion his statements line up with Progressive Thought, they are going to call it a betrayal of his Conservative Principals... which is just yelling "Blasphemy!" by atheists.

In short words. Don't get your panties in a twist listening to the News.

Don't bother to believe them anymore.

Don't trust, and verify.

Should we start a separate thread to keep track of the campaign statements that he fails to follow through on?

" If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception," he said regarding Hillary.

Now according to Wash Post;
"Trump won't “be pursuing investigations" against his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton"

A lot of folks wanted to see Hillary hanged (metaphorically) for her crimes (the email scandal being just one of MANY). I, for one, am not happy about his flip flopping on this.

Again, I suspect this is a ploy to lull the DNC (and the current prez) into a false sense of security. Let em think it's going to be alright...long enough to get BO out of office (and thus unable to pardon anything).

Hell...with all the BS flying around about recounts these days he's gotta keep with the olive branches long enough to get INTO office in the first place!

RE: Prosecution of Hillary. I would much prefer that Trump stay quite about it unless asked. When asked, simply state he has made public his intentions, then pivot right to his contract with America. Be as quite as possible about it, stay focused on hitting the ground running Jan. 21. If BO chooses to pardon Hillary to protect her, that will be his legacy, and Trump and move forward with his agenda. If she gets no pardon, then he has his options on the table, but the focus has been on the nation.

As much as I want to see Hillary prosecuted for her numerous crimes, it would be a huge distraction from important work that needs to be done to get the nation back on track. IMO, the above strategy would allow for the best of likely choices moving forward. Even if he planned to drop the whole thing, let her sweat it out wondering. She might just die of an ulcer by his inauguration.

>>>it would be a huge distraction from important work that needs to be done

Trump, by his own devices, (and I am thrilled about it) has IRREVOCABLY COMMITTED to creating jobs and getting infrastructure underway in the first 100 days.

He has no time for side shows.

He's a pretty good businessman . . .he is not a magician.

With the gift of a Republican Congress . . .the excuses are non-exisitant. . . .were I him, I'd be laser focused on fulfilling my promises.

He did a lot of big talk . . . I, for one, think he can deliver. But anything that serves to distract him will have him labeled as a failure.

Frankly . . . I think one of his biggest challenges is going to be getting his nose out of TRUMP the business. There are a myriad of booby traps that await the unwary public official who commingles and we've never had a President with such a business empire "on the side".

He kids are smart and can help but there is no way they can run it on their own.

I can't wait for him to hit the ground running and shut some of the nay-sayers up.
