My '01 blast is sputtering and then dying. It starts up with no problem, but after riding it for a little bit, it begins to sputter then will die. This is a very recent problem, it only started in the past 3 weeks and I have had my bike for 2 years. My dad and I pulled the tank off and the gas flows freely and easily from it. Any suggestions for what it may be or how to fix it?

Check the vent line for the tank. Next time it sputters open the gas tank and see if it clears up.

Also check, clean and/or replace the spark plug.

There is a rubber manifold coupler, sometimes referred to as the boot, which connects the carburetor to the manifold. This is responsible for about 90% of all Blast problems. It will crack and cause the bike to run erratically. These cracks are not always visible. That would be the first place I would look.

It is a $7.00 part. I would buy two. Replace the one on the bike, and keep a spare under the seat.

If you want an "after market" version, my friend Laura made a replacement boot from a piece of hydrolic hose and it is working well for her. She has extra hose left over, which she used to make boots for people who need them:
